  1. I didn't recognize the tail lights. Didn't know if they were out of someone's 'Vette catalog. You should check out the power gull-wing top, not door.
  2. What tail lights and wheels were used on Cleo's 'Vette?
  3. Boy do these bring back memories. I swear that DeSoto is a twin of my grandfather's last car. Same colors. Nice work. I took my drivers test in a '60 Bonne sport coupe. Had to parallel park it and everything. White, with real twin spots, 389, glass packs, and the very same three-tone interior as above.

    Acid Bubble

Very well done. I'm going to steal that steering wheel for a stalled build of mine.
  5. Sweet. A baby Thing! Keep watering it.
  6. Very, very nice. All the little hand made details, just wonderful.
  7. Ira, I love to watch all of your builds. They show a very fertile imagination, grounded in technical reality. Certainly no one can question your mad building skills. However, the hood scoop and front fender vents, on a mid-engined car, continue to confuse me.
  8. Are you going to have this done by International Talk Like a Pirate Day, on Sept.,19th?
  9. Twin Chevys with Potvin front drive superchargers, Hilborn injection, and reverse flow heads for improved breathing and power.
  10. Nice.
  11. Were they ever real?
  12. The Vega's method of shipping is responsible for GM's switch to side post batteries. When they stood them up-right, a standard battery would short out on the hood, so rather than spend anything to insulate the hood, they designed the side post battery that we suffer with today. They also probably sold the board of directors on these batteries by claiming lower hood lines would lead to better fuel mileage. This is the same reason they used to lobby the DOT to allow those real thin rectangular headlights. The only problem is, I have never seen a car designed with a lower hood because of the side post battery or rectangular headlights. In fact the manufactures flaunted their victory over the DOT by stacking the rectangular lights. So much for improved fuel economy.
  13. Here is the factory: http://www.thebricklinfactory.com/ And just like the real ones, you can order one with the AMC or Ford engine.
  14. There is a guy that makes 1/25 models, but only sells them as finished models.
  15. Drag race promoter Broadway Bob Metzler died at the age of 83 Friday Afternoon. Metzler opened the Great Lakes Dragway in Union Grove, WI with the money he made playing cards with fellow Marines. He once rode the nose of a jet-powered dragster while drinking a beer. Bob is the only promoter inducted into the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame. Jimmy Flintstone also sells a resin figurine of Broadway Bob. May the party never end, Bob.
  16. I've used the Jabsco pumps on roadracers since the '60s. Heck even Harbor Fright sells a 260gph marine pump for under $50. Just gut your water pump and install these pumps in the radiator hoses.
  17. Try these louvers. http://www.archertransfers.com/SurfaceDetailsMain.html
  18. I too did not see this until today. Truly inspirational. You are very talented.
  19. Link, who's got a link?
  20. Crazyjim will you show us a pix of you modified air brush? I haven't been able to find this thread. Would someone please post a link? TIA
  21. You better check that Harley. My wife worked in HD headquarters for years. It'll make you cry.
  22. What, no Bobcats? Beerman a Bobcat had a Shelby tail light kind of thing going on. They added a fake second Pinto tail light to each side by reversing sides. All Bobcats had the big window hatch. Early Pintos had a small window and a trunk lid. I made this Bobcat out of a Ridgerunner Pinto. In '74 I was asked to develop this Pinto road racer for Hammer Engineering. I drove it to a championship in '75.
  23. I'm confused. How do you rattle can Pearl-X ?
