  1. Hey John... how's this one coming. Got any new updates for us to drool over
  2. John... What an update. Wow I don't think you can pack any more detail in that engine compartment. That is some incredible work you got going right there. You sure have been a Busy Bee.. This thing is just steller! Keep up the Killer work.
  3. Clay... I absolutely love the progress you have made so far on this. What you have done so far looks so good and I love the addition of the weathering on the block. To me it adds character to it for sure. Love your work. What you have post had definitely given me some inspiration for mine. John... I think it would be so cool if one day we could have these all sitting next to one another and get pics of them together. Can't wait until you get yours going.
  4. You are welcome John. I know you need to finish this one up first . Plus that will help me get a tiny head start since I am a little slower builder than you are.
  5. Clay.... wow that's another beauty right there. Always love your nascar builds. Just Steller my friend.
  6. Tim.... And I thought I was nuts... Holy Smokies that is some Sweet work. Wow.... I can't believe how tiny those are, They are a little bigger than an 1/8". You are one mighty fine craftsman, Seeing what you are doing with pieces ever so small makes me wonder if I need to hang things up... In all seriousness, I love the work and can't wait to see the next detail you Blow us away with.
  7. John... What an update. Wow I don't think you can pack any more detail in that engine compartment. That is some incredible work you got going right there. You sure have been a Busy Bee.. This thing is just steller! Keep up the Killer work.
  8. John.... Holy smokes Brother!! I can't say my initial reaction or should I say the words that came out of my mouth because i probably would of been banned from the forum. But man you have crushed it with the paint. What. Killer update and these pics show why you are one of the best. That is some top notch work and detail on this build. Keep doing what you are doing....
  9. Thanks everyone for showing interest in this fun build we are doing together. Clay... yesterday there are two pairs of glasses and what you dont wee is there is also a Optivisor I use along with them...haha Tim... thanks but I gotta give you credit to your altered. Holy smoke are these 1/25th scale studd small since all I have been working on is 1/16 lately. I dont know how you do it and gotta give you major credit with your extent of detail on it. Lee.. I am really sorry to hear about the death in your family. My condolences to you and your family. Ron... I did noticed the crager decal. I was just referring to them as centerlines because of them being solid is all. I know there was Crager super tricks back then too. I just didnt know which year either came out. All I know is these solid front rims look way better than the kits spokes.
  10. Alright Fellas... Here is the start of my dragster. As Clay mentioned it is the MPC release of Mongoose's Hot Wheels Dragster. Clay and I talked about needing to address the front wheels of this kit. Well Clay was able to find some sweet Centerline's for the fronts because they look way better than the kits spoke wheels. So while I was searching for pics of Goose's I ran across a pic of one where he used the Centerline rims on it. I also think Clay found me a pic that was similar to the one I had found. The more I looked at the pic the more that dragster grew on me. So my plan is to build Mongoose's 1973 Carefree dragster. Since Chuck Boerner had the decals I figured that is what I want to build. Here is the car, There is just something about this car that I really liked the look of and thought would be fun to build: Here is the kit parts: And the start of the build, I got the outside of the body sanded, all the mold lines removed and got some primer on it. I now need to sand the mold lines off the chassis. I also got the engine block and rear end glued together:
  11. Clay... This is going to be a super fun build for all of us to do. I was totally on board when you pitched this to me and I look forward to all of us build these guys. Its going to just be fun for the motivation factor as I know I have been having issues lately with being motivated. I still haven't been able to get back to the bench with the rest of the funny car that I need to finish up. Hopefully in the midst of this fun dragster build it will give me the push to finish the funny car and put that one behind me...lol
  12. Mike... Thank you so much for the kind words and for your son following along on this long Journey. Hopefully I will be able to check a few items off my final to do list this week and get her close to being 100% complete. Mike F... Thank you very much!!
  13. Tim... That is some pure Art work and Gorgeous pieces of work. That is cool you are going to do a replacement Pro Mod. I know what you mean about doing something simple. I am trying to force myself with an out of the box build. I know I have a small list left to do on the funny car as well as I am already designing another Drag build
  14. Tim... Beautiful Tin work my friend!! The piece looks stunning. It would of taken me probably at least 6 times to get it right... haha . This is just an incredible build. You have to be super close to having all of the fabrication work done on this. Makes me wonder what your next Drag build will be after this Epic one
  15. Bob... Thank you for the kind words my friend and for following along from the beginning. It has been a very long journey indeed, but well worth the outcome for me. There were many highs and Lows with this build but I had learned so much go thru it that it will make things much easier on the next build. I just need to get the last 5% done now...lol Christopher... Thanks for the nice words. Looks like you are going to have fun little build right there. Sorry to hear about the wreck with the cat. You can go back and rebuild her now. I will be looking forward to seeing a build thread on it. If you have any questions on what all I did or used feel free to ask. Dave M... Thank you very much. As far as the tires go I used Flashpoint's Tires on these for both the fronts and rears, The rears were the Funny Car tires he had. Unfortunately Terry Closed shop a while back and doesn't sell them or his resin bodies anymore. I have considered drawing some up to have 3D printed. Dave S... Thank you So much Brother!!! You know this has been quite a Journey That I did not know what going to turn into what it did. Although I still have 5% left to go to call it completed and hopefully I will get that 5% done here and here over the next few weeks to month or so. But I have to give you a Big Shout out and Thank you for a lot of help behind the scenes of taking the time to talk with me and answer multiple questions that I had in reference of parts and things for this build. You have been a dear friend to me. So thank you so much. I do need to give you a call so we can catch up and brain storm... lol
  16. Dave... Thanks for the kind words. Bummed we didnt get to see you at the show. Scott... thank you very much.
  17. Tim... You continue to move that bar higher and higher for all of us. That Clutch can shroud is a work of art. I so can't wait to see some paint on this. While I hate to see you cover up all of this Brass Goodness, But it will bring the whole build together. What you have accomplished with this build it blows my mind and Blows the Funny Car out of the water. This build is going to take home so many awards, The craftsmanship on this just amazing. It still amazes me that this is 1/25th scale and how much smaller everything is on this build that you had to do. My Hats off to you my friend. Cheers!!
  18. Danno... Thank you Sir!! I really appreciate the Kind words. So I may be "Mr This year" but at the next show you can call me "Next Year" again... haha Brad... Thanks Brother! I appreciate the nice words. When it comes to the Illustrator training, I can always bring the funny over so you can get better pics. I know the lighting was a little tuff with the light coming in from the windows behind the car. Trevor... Thank you very much. Stephen... Thank you. It was great to get to talk with you the day of the show. Wish we could of talked longer. Looking forward to seeing more of your builds. Ben... Thank you very much. There is so much that I learned in these 7 years that will allow me to plan things better with out having to redo so much work. I think I will also be able to build better from things that I had taught myself that I didn't think I could do. I kept pushing myself just to see if I could certain things. Tim... Thank you my Friend. I am feeling great about the car even though it is only 95% Completed. I still have the 5% that needs to be done and have been having trouble getting back to it. I will get things done little by little until its done and completed in my eyes. Plus I have a few more items that needs fixing which stinks but its what I have to do. Seth.... Thanks. I appreciate the kind comments. Dave... Thanks for the nice words. I am planning on posting pics with the body on it. I have a minor issue that I need to fix with the Body Tins before I can do so, but I promise that there will be pics with the body on, The body propped open....etc. Bruce... Thank you so much and for following along on this long journey. Joe... Thank you so much for the Kind words and for continuing to check in on this build. I know it was a long one for people to ride out and probably had people wondering if I was ever going to finish it up. I am hoping to have it Buttoned up to 100% soon. Mike... Thank you very much. Gotta tell you the First place car was a Beautiful one. My plan is to take some outside pics once I get everything done and I would love to capture the model at the same angles as the reference pictures that I have. I know I won't be able to match the backgrounds but It would be fun to show the pics side by side. I gotta be honest I went thru a few ruff patches trying to stay focused on this. I am super excited to have her about done so I can move onto the next fun build.
  19. John... Holy Smokes!!! That Interior is awesome my brother. I can tell how much work you have put into it already and it's going to totally pop when you add your killer paint work to it. This is one killer build my friend. Keep up the awesome work.
  20. Jim... thank you very much. There were a few little details that I had left off the engine that I will slowly start to add this weekend. Hakan... Thank You! Manfred... Thanks! Jason... Thank you for the kind words. John... Thanks my Brother, it means a lot coming from you and was so glad you were able to be there for the unveiling of this build. It was a total honor to get the Masters award for best engine, I didnt expect it that's for sure. You know I wish I could of had a build book so everyone could of seen l that went into this build. But as you know I was burning the midnight oil and had to shortcut some items to get the build done in time. Hopefully it wont take me long to finish this one up because I have a few builds I have been itching to start that I have been excited about. Lee... Thank you very much. Trust me the car was beautiful that took first and the paint was gorgeous. Oh yeah I have a FED project that I am ready to start on plus a couple of Rear engine drgster's on the back of my mind too. Jesse... Thank you!
  21. Ok Fellas as promised I was able to get some time at the bench to take some pics of what all I have accomplished on this build since my last update and then my time crunch on getting it to where it was show ready even though it wasn't 100% complete. So as of this point I currently have 2,175 Hours into this build. Yes I was crazy enough to track it as best as I can and honestly this probably doesn't even count the time I had in designing all of the 3D components that I did for this build. Anyway hope you enjoy these pics and this weekend I am going to start chipping away at my final to do list to get this thing 100% completed.
  22. Ray..... Thank you for the Kind words. I was nice to finally call something done and enter it into the show. Although it's not completed by any means and still has some work that needs to be done a few things that need to be fixed on it. Bob... Yes it was in the Competition Even though it was only 95% complete in my book. There are some small minor details that I need to finish up on. It took 2nd place in Large scale and it came home with the Best Engine award as well. Steve... Thank you. I have some pics that I have taken of the car this evening that I am going to post since I really didn't post much when I was putting in some long hours the week or 2 before the show. Lee... Thank you for following along on this long journey of mine with this build. I am super excited to just about have this 100% completed so I can start some fun builds. I am going to probably start out with a basic out of the box build but I do have another 1/16th scale Drag Build that planning has been in the works which I am super excited to build. Art... Thank you Brother, It was so great to see you this past weekend and get to hang out. Although I wish I could of hung out with everyone on the Friday night gathering but as you know I was crunching away on the model until 1 am hoping I was going to make the show....lol
  23. Ken.... I did get it done... well 95% of it was done but I called it compleye to enter it into the show. I appreciate the kind words and for following along on this build. Bob... Thank you. as stated above, I did finish it enough to enter it but there are a few minor things I need to fix a d finish Chris... yes i have been, it's taken me the past 2 nights to get my workbench all cleaned up. Now I can get back at. Well fellas... as mentioned I did complete the build enough for the show, although it is not 100% done. There are about a dozen things to do to the build to call it compleye and then another 8 to 10 items for display purposes. . He body prop and my body cart. My plan is to take some pics tonight when I get home from work and post. Then it's back to the bench to start on the final items to complete this build.
