Tim... Love seeing your Bench . You got a nice set up there My Friend!! Gotta love the Tin work Buddy and glad to see you stick it thru like I did, I couldn't tell you how many I made. I know it took me a few tries with my first set then to only have to go back and redo them when I had to move the motor out 1/2" which changed the chassis and ment new tin work had to be redone. This is one Incredible and Mind Blowing builds for sure. Still amazes me that this is only 1/25th scale, sometimes I can't get over that. Gorgeous work!!

John... Wow Brother!! That interior is absolutely Stunning my friend. It is looking so good and its going to pop when you put your Teresi Paint job touch too it. Keep up the Killer work. You are knocking this one out of the park like you do on all of your builds.

Tim... That is freaking gorgeous for sure and I am loving it. You will have to let me know what durometer of rubber you used. I have to think way back when I did mine and I just found what I had laying around. I really like your idea of making a pattern you trace. You made that much easier because I used a ruler and drew mine on and whet line by line using the ruler as a guide. as you I need to experiment more with the pen diameter because I think mine may of been a tad big but was happy with the results. This build just continues to get better with each and every post. Can't wait to see what you share with us next.

1/16 Scale Army Vega Funny Car - Finished 10/14/2018

Chris... thank you, I am giving it a fight that is for sure. Bob... thanks...I know I shouldn't be worried about the deadline but it is something I am trying to make. Trying to take each item 1 by 1. Tim... thank you so much for the kind words. To answer your question I am pretty much using my optivisor along with some readers under the optivisor to see most of the really small details. My eyes are no where near what they used to be that's for sure. I may need to start building 1/8th scale builds... Well guys... little update, sad to say no pics but I am chipping away at my to do list. Still wonder will I finish it in time for the show or not. I guess we just wait and see. -

Tim.... thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. I think you nailed it by saying that when your are in a build that is taking multiple years, for my case 7 years now.... It starts to take a mental toll on you and you dont realize that. I think a part of me is just mentally worse out on this build. At times it's not fun anymore and seems more like work than fun. Don't get me wrong this has been a fun build to really push my limits and abilities to see if I can do it for myself and not anyone else. Seeing my results now that build is so close to being done all of the hard work and rework has been worth it. I have learned so much that the next drag build I do I dont think I should have as many issues as I did with this one and I should be able to build it a lot quicker too. I have learned a lot from many of the other members here and that inspires me to be a better builder. Bill... I will check it. Dave.. thank you very much. Guys.. I just wanted to say be Patient with me the rest of this week. I have 4 days left before our Desert scale classics show that I am they to make. So you may not see me post much just because I have to dedicate every hour I am not at work on this to finish it. Thanks for continue to follow along on this long journey with me. -

Bob... Thank you. Bill... Thank you. When and where in Arizona will you be moving too? Lee... Thank you for the kind comments. I have been trying my best to make as much of it as realistic as I can. I hope it is finished in time for DSC. Ray... Thank you. Are you going to be at the DSC next week? Dave.... Thank you my friend. Please do send some clutch dust, I will add it to the model... John... I appreciate the kind words Brother, Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I have to finish it first and am questioning if it will make it at this point. Chris... Thank you. I know once this thing is done I am doing an easy box stock build that I can knock out in a couple of weeks...lol Mike... Thank you but gotta tell you that it sure tested my patience and I spent way more time on it than I think I should have. Maybe the next time I do one I will find an easier way... lol Randy... Thanks Brother... Man I am going to miss you at the DSC next week. Was hoping that you would be able to make it. Hope all is well. -
John.... Nice work on the Chassis. Man that is off to a great start. Can't wait to see more fine work on this bad boy.

Hello Fellas..... I wanted to say thank you to everyone for being patient with me and for following along. I apologize that I haven't had any updates in a while, life has been been busy with having family in town for the past 2 weeks along with dealing with some health issues with my dog. So needless to say that I haven't had very much or any bench time since I last posted. I know I am down to the wire to our Desert Scale Classic show here next weekend which I am trying to get this thing done in time for, But we will see if I make it in time. Anyway I was able to get some bench time i last night to finish up the fuel shut off cable assembly. I am embarrassed to say that I have spent way more hours into this line that I probably should have. I must of worked on this thing for 15 hours and for some reason it fought me the whole time. Now that its done I am happy with the results. Here are a few pics for ya..... Here are the bits and pieces that are making up this assembly: Here is the lever mocked up: Here is the lever and attachment clamp installed in the driver area: Here it is hooked up to the Fuel shut off valve with the linkage: -

Chris.... Thank you so much for the Kind words. I would tell you to keep at it. I have been pushing myself as far as I can with things on this build because I was never sure if I could do some of the things I have seen others do. I have actually surprised myself that I was able to pull a lot of it off that I didn't think I could do. Jason... Thank you. Niko... Thank you very much my friend!! When I am done I want to try to capture some of the same angle shots of the model like the real car and combine the pics to compare them. Hope that makes sense. Think it would just be pretty cool to do that. Jesse... Thanks, That make me smile Lee... Thank you, Yes the punch list is getting shorter but its not getting there quick enough. I am down to 28 Items left to have this done I believe and I am running out of time fast. Brad... Thanks for the Kind words. It feels so good to have the engine in its final resting place. I am pushing hard to have it done for the show next weekend. But I can't make any promises that I will make it right now. I will just have to wait and see if I can pull it off. Bob... Thank you. That light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter which is a good feeling. I am ready for a new build that's for sure...lol Tim... Thank you my friend. It has felt great to get to the point where I am on this build now. I was hoping that No one would be able to tell were the damage was. Glad that is all behind me now....lol Now I am pushing forward in hopes that I can have it done in a week.... Yeah I am stressing out just a little bit...lol Scott... Thank you very much. Hans... Thank you... I am happy with the stance as well and I would say it was well worth the time it took me to go back and fix that part way back when I realized things didn't look right and I had to hack it up again to fix it to get that stance looking correct in my eyes. Hakan... Thank you very much for the kind words, Its appreciated. Stephen... Thank you Dave R... Thank you sir... Too Bad there wasn't some sort of sent like that which could be put in the base to make it smell like some nitro and rubber... Steve... Thanks. I never really though about that and it would be an honor if it did. Hopefully I will have it done soon. BIll... Thank you for the nice words. that light is getting brighter. Hopefully I will be able to check off a bunch from the list this weekend. John... Thanks Brother for the kind words my friend!! Hopefully it will be done sooner rather than later...lol Bob... Thank you very much. I think you are right that if I would of taken shortcuts on some of the things I wouldn't not of been as happy with the results. Joe... Thank you my friend. Its been tough just to concentrate on this build at times and I have really considered boxing it up multiple times when I ran into many issues. But I am glad I fought thru them and it has taught me a ton of lessons on some things that I would be able to plan things a little better ahead of time. You gonna make it to the DSC next weekend?? Paul... Thanks... You just gave me an idea that I need to get a 55 Gallon Drum in 1/16th scale and have it sitting next to the car on a display base... Dave... Thanks you very much. Yeah it should be at the DSC.... Finished or Not. I would much rather not having it sitting on the Display only table for the 7th year in a row... I know I won't live it down if it does go there... Brian... Thank you\ Danny... Thank you. Hopefully soon the Anticipation will be over Scott... Thanks for the kind words. Danno... Thanks my friend, Looking forward to seeing you next weekend. I just hope that this will be done and at this point it is going to be very close. Its down to the wire but hopefully I make it. Tim... Thank you, if you ever have any questions on how I did something feel free to ask and I will do my best to explain what I did. Phil... Thank you very much. when I first started this build I did not think that it was going to snowball into as big of a project as I have turned it into. I kept pushing myself to see if I could make this look like the real things and I think I got myself into a hole I couldn't get out so I had to continue to proceed the way I have with it. All of the hard work and redoing multiple items was worth it now seeing some of the results -
Tim... This is unbelievable my friend. Man I am speechless. The quality of your craftsmanship and talent is out of this world. I am loving this update. Everything is so precise and clean. This thing is a Beast!!. Keep up the Awesome Work.

Ok Fellas.... I know an updated post has been long over due. As mentioned the other day I have had a bunch going on in my life lately and haven't been able to get to the bench as much as I would like but as time has allowed I have gotten some time in at the bench here and there. Progress is going as well as it can. I would get some things done feeling I was making progress then I would go backwards again with issues that would come up. I was able to fix a few of them so far and was finally able to get the engine installed into the chassis. So here a few updated pics to show the Engine installed into the chassis along with the fuel tank and fuel lines. I also got the rest of the ignition lines installed. I am chipping away at my to do list and I still have quite a few to check off before our Show here next month. The question still remains..... will I get it done in time or not, only time will tell I guess. Here are a few pics to share with you guys.... Left Hand Side: Right Hand Side: Here are some shots of the engine, Left Hand Side: Right Side: -

Jason... thanks for understanding. Now I am not saying I will never make the parts available, just right now I don't have the time to set up a store on Shapeways since I am trying to get this funny car done. I know there is a lack of 1/16th scale parts out there for us modelers and that's what drove me to start drawing stuff up since I couldn't find what I needed for this build. Once I finish this build I am planning on working on other parts I would like to draw up to increase my library of parts. I am going to shoot you a PM here in a few. -

Hello Fellas.... I apologize that I haven't had any updates lately. I have had a lot going on at home with my Dog and haven't been on here too much lately. I have been getting a little time here and there on this build when life has allowed me too. I am hoping to have an update to be able to share real soon with you guys. Hello Franco.... thank you for the kind words on my build. Those pics you have shown are pics of the parts I purchased so that I could reverse engineer and model them in my CAD software. I don't own a 3D printer and I don't print my own parts partly because the personal printers arent quite where I would like to see for small detail for the parts i am printing. So I use a printing service to print my parts. I use Shapeways to print my parts and I have not created a store for my parts yet, I am Still debating when and If I will. I also need to be honest, I am not sure if I am comfortable at the moment with just giving my designs away. It's something I really need to think about. I have fear if I make my parts available that a resin caster will cast my parts and start selling my parts claiming as their own. Hope you can understand where I am coming from -
Bill... If you can can make it out that would be pretty awesome. Plus it would be great to meet you. It's a Really fun show
