  1. my Instincts says model... but I have no idea
  2. This is such a cool build. You have done some great work so far and it looking good. I really like the hand laced wheels that you did and the scratch build magneto. look forward to more progress on this one.
  3. Nice Job on this. It looks great!
  4. Once I was happy with the position I glued the tubing to the chassis and taped the holding jig to the board and also taped it to the chassis to set up: After I let my tubing and glue set up, I fabricated the top tubes and glued into place. Once I got them in to place and glued them I let it set up for a bit then I went back and brushes some more glue around the joints just to make sure it would be secure and leaving it like this in the Jig over night and will pick the build back up tomorrow:
  5. Alright as promised I have pics to show even more progress I made today. I am happy with what I got accomplished and feel good about it feels like it is coming along. I was able to primer some more parts which they will probably see some more primer after I sand them down again . Besides primering the oil pan, fuel tank. clutch bell housing and part of the transmission cover blanket portion. I worked mostly on the back half of the chassis for the body mount pivot point. here is what I did and what I got done.... Thanks for Looking I first started out by removing the old body mount pivots: Next I cleaned up the chassis sanding away the parts that I cut off and preparing it for the new pieces it was going to see: After that I decided that I needed to make another portion of the jig to hold the pieces I was adding to make sure they would be in the position that I wanted them when I glued them: I then glued my bottom 3 pieces of tubing together first before I placed it in the jig, once the pieces were dry I got the holding portion of the jig in place:
  6. Jeff... Thanks Buddy! Rom... you have a point there about making rear lips for the rims. I know for a fact it would be cheaper to go that route. I was double checking earlier with my photo-etch disk brake that I had the clearance for the calipers looks like It shouldn't be a problem besides I will be scratch building the calipers and can make them the size I need to fit . Plus I don't see it should be a problem like you said it most likely wouldn't be seen. Tyrone... Thanks man, I decided I wanted to do a Jig so I could get the height of the chassis correct and especially when it came to me working on the body mounting pivot portion of the chassis. Danno... Thanks bud!
  7. Very cool... I really like that green. It really pops thats for sure. Interior is looking great too. Nice work!!
  8. Now time for some pics of the chassis sitting in the Jig..... Here I have the chassis sitting in the Jig: Sitting on the front blocks, sorry the pic is a little blurry: Side View: The rear sitting on the rear blocks: Time to get back to work on this. I will be working on redoing the body pivot mounting brackets on the back half of the chassis..... Stay tuned and will have more pics to share later..... thanks for looking
  9. Thanks Greg and Danno..... Greg I had someone steer me in that direction with the disk brakes and was thankful they did was able to find 1/16th and 1/18th scale ones. so been able to put some hours in this weekend and have some more pics to share with all of you. Started doing more work to the manifold, added plastic to the side so that I can drill the locations for the fuel lines and fittings: Finished sanding the rear tires and they are ready to go: I decided I was going to test fit the rims into the tires and glad i did. I realized I ran into a snag here after Inserting them. These tires are wider and the rims were not quite wide enough. Going to talk to Jim at Micro Nitro and see if he can turn another set that is a little wider or make a piece and splice them together. Thinking though that machining a new rim may be the better way to go. still not sure which route to go: I also decided to make a Jig that I can set the funny car on with the correct height of the chassis:
  10. Add another user here that uses Photobucket... I have been using it for the past 5 to 7 years. Its easy to use in my opinion.
  11. Jeff... this is turning out fantastic. I really like that you have taken something not so popular and running with it. Your body work is looking great so far. I look forward to more progress.
  12. Romell... Those tires are looking good my friend. did you mount them up to a drill to sand them?? I did mine by hand but figured there has got to be an easeir way and were these flashpoint tires?? I found out last night that the rims I have are a little short in width for the flashpoint funny car tires I have. I am going to have to talk to Jim at Micro Nitro to see if he can make the same rims I got from him but a little wider...LOL I will take some pics and have to post them to show you. Felt like I hit a little bit of a stopping point on my build... guess it was a little more bummed but it wasn't going to stop me at all
  13. I am looking forward to seeing this build. John with your skills I know this is going to turn out awesome. I can't wait to see the progress.
  14. Jeff I will be following this one. I am sure you will do this body wonders my friend. If its anything like your Chevelle body, it is sure going to come alive. Looking forward to seeing what you have instore with this one. I will wait patiently for pics.

  16. Bob.... You are right they aren't from the kit. I got these from Flashpoint Motorsports Resins, very nice tires. He has a few sizes to choose from.
  17. This is off to a great start and looking good. Any more progress on this?
  18. Thanks Shane... I appreciate the kind words. You have some very nice builds yourself. I love the "Pure Hell" car, its clean wth the right amount of detail and looks great. Paint is amazing too. I also really like the yellow one right below it as well. I look forward to seeing more of your builds.

  20. Nice looking build!
  21. This is a totally cool build, I am digging it. Can't wait to see more of this interior and door panels. never would have though of picking up some Silk Panties for the material. It looks good so far.
  22. This is looking great and glad to see you back on this build. It is coming together nice.
  23. Thanks Romell... I need to look into it. Ok so I am full of questions....lol hope you don't mine. On the injector hat what size line and fittings are those and is the line aluminum or stainless rod by chance? I have been thinking about what I am going to use on my funny car and I keep going back and forth on ordering some safety wire or if I can find aluminum wire. I know micheals has some beating wire but I can't remember the type of material that is is.
  24. Jeff... Looking great man. Glad to see you back on this build. That chassis is just fantastic. The firewall looks awesome!
