Alright Fellas... Per Tim's request...Here is an Update for ya.... I have made a little more headway on the build.... Baby steps but these little baby steps are starting to turn into milestones. So I messed around some more with the engine, specifically the Headers. I did a little weathering with them, then ran into some troubles which I had to fix and in the mean time I decided that I needed as set of Copper gaskets. So I just had to make them..... So here is the Copper Head gaskets that started out from a 3x5 card. I know the inside looks crappy but I wanted to be able to have an area where the epoxy would be able to bond the header to the heads. I traced the header flange on a 3x5 car, cut it out and then transfered the holes, then painted with Tamiya Copper paint: Then to go along with the headers, I just had to add a touch of weathering to them. I also noticed in one of the pictures that the inside of the headers had a little bit of rust to them from what I could see. Here is the pic and what I did to the headers: original pic of the car Pic lightened up so you can see in the header pipes: The opposite side but I couldn't get the light to capture the rust color better: Here is the Heads, Headers and Gasket laid out and ready to be installed.... well Glued Here I have gotten the Header Bolts in place along with the Copper Gaskets so that it will be easier to line the bolts up to drilled holes in the heads. g -

Paul... Thanks my friend... Yeah the photobucket thing gets old for sure. I may try the free account on Fotki and see if I like it. Art... Thank Brother!! Yeah its going to be here before we know it and I need to get moving on a few things. I gotta get this one Finished up for sure. Bob... Thank you. Joe... Thanks but Uh Oh... I don't know if that is good or bad that I made you say a bad word... lol Billy... Thank you. That would be pretty cool if it did run but not happening with this engine... haha Dave... Thank you. Will you be able to make it out to DSC this year? Brad... Thank you. I sure hope this thing doesn't have any oil leaks and leave a puddle on the Display table... LOL Ken... Thank you sir... Wow you have me totally beat on rivets. Easily by 1000.. LOL. Yeah the ones in the Body Tin work will be visible. Scott... Thank you my friend. Tim F.... Thank you. I appreciate the kind words. Tim H... Thanks Buddy!! Now If I can just keep the momentum going. I wanna get this thing done so bad. Niko... Thank you very much for the kind words my friend. You know I am trying my best to make it look just like the 1:1 but It will never be exact. Danno... Huh?? Seth... Thank you... Me Too... LOL Edgar... Thank you. I will tell you this much this braided line is a pain in the butt just like the 1:1's to install into the A/N Fittings. I don't know how many times I had to trim the end because I kept getting a few strands not wanting to go into the A/N fitting....lol Dave... Thanks my friend... The fun is coming back on this being able to see all of the hard work coming together during the assembly. Tim... Your wish is my command.... haha... Hang tight and I will have an update for ya -

Paul... you are crushing this build my friend. All of your CAD work is just awesome and seeing the 3D printed parts is inspiring me to get back in front of the computer and design more as well but I know I have a funny car that needs to get completed first... LOL. Sounds like you need to move to the Phoenix area..... well you know then you would be much closer to Supplies . I can't wait to see what you have in store to share with us next. -

Here is the Scratch built Oil Pump with scale hardware bolts installed along with RB motion Fittings that I painted with Clear Red and Clear Blue: Here I have glued the oil pan to the Block, Installed all of the bolts for the oil pain, Glued the oil pump to the block and also glued the lines from the oil pan to the oil pump. The two other fittings were just placed in their spot for the pic: Here is another shot of the block with the other braided line in place: -

Well Fellas I think it is time for an update. I have gotten a little work done here and there. So here is what I have been up too.... Well I tore down the engine for the Last time....: I started weathering the block a little bit because I wanted to have it dirtied up a bit. Please excuse the crappy pics, I am still trying to learn this 35mm DSLR Camera and been playing with some settings but it seems to not be focusing 100% on what I want it focused on: Here is the opposite side of the block weathered: Front of the Block: Here is the oil pan with all of the bolts started in it so that when I glue it to the block I won't have any issued putting the bolts in...lol: Here is the opposite side of the oil pan, as you can see I got the oil pan gasket in place and then I scored lines in the oil pan to give some extra area for the epoxy to bite into when I glue it: -
Tim... All I can say is WOW!! Very Impressive. It's great to see an update from you on this. Love how the steering wheel set up turned out and the Clutch pedal and linkage set up just sets it apart. Gorgeous work my friend!
-
Dave... That Chassis is looking Killer with the paint on it and I absolutely love the welds on it . All of the little details to this build is just mind blowing!! Can you share how you did the welds??

Tim... you are welcome my friend.... Do I hear any 1/16th builds coming our way. Holy Cow what you are doing in 1/25th I can only Imagine what you would be able to do in 1/12th Scale. I will tell you the same thing I told Randy... Makes me feel I need to box up my funny car and start collection rocks... LOL . I am so Impressed with the work you are doing and how precise everything is. Gorgeous work of Art. Keep up the great work. Cheers!! I am with Dave I can't wait to see the hubs and brake set up you are going to fab up.

I am totally digging this build and I really like the theme you went with. I think it looks great in that Mil Spec green and drill sargent decals. I have had one of these kits in my collection for years that still hasn't been built. I am a big El Camino fan considering I own a 1;1. Again Nice work, it looks great

Randy.... Holy smokes... I go away for a while and I come back to this. You have me so blown away at the detail going into these carbs that are completely scratch build in brass. Very impressive my friend. It really has me considering boxing up the funny car and start collecting rocks. Love your work. -
Dave... wow my friend... looks like you have been a busy bee cutting chips. Man I sure have missed a lot being gone for a while. It's great to see you making some killer progress. Jeep up the great work.
