  1. LOVE the chassis and engine work! I take it that this is the Trumpeter kit?
  2. I've heard a lot of good things about George Hernandez, and his company GT KustomKhrome. He can be contacted at his email addy: tihggh01@hotmail.com I've met George a number of times in person, and he's a REALLY great guy to deal with! Another one is Chrometech, and they can be found here. Great to deal with as well!
  3. Beautiful Randy! One of Bill Mitchell's best designs to come out of GM in that era!
  4. I don't know what Revell is waiting for in this new tooling. A fresh kit of the AAR 'Cuda would seem to be a no brainer. Of course, now that JC is doing all this work, they'll announce a kit probably next year!
  5. Keep up the great work JC! Using this kit as a basis is MILES ahead than using the last abomination that Revell put out!
  6. Chris, I think I'll just stick to using colored decal paper. That'll be much easier to cut through with the circle cutter than trying to get the vinyl material to play nice. I could almost use the redline decals out of a kit that I didn't use them--------problem is for the rear tires, the diameter would be too small. On that note, I'm gonna give a hint for my future project--------it'll be a dune buggy, but not just any dune buggy. As far as having a punch or die made............I could get one done where I work as we have a machine shop area in what I do. It's just the time to get the dimensions right, and then reality of this being the only time I might need such a set, and the cost probably not being worth it.
  7. You may have seen my post on this, but I couldn't resist getting the Danbury '58 Plymouth Fury that he once had. What's even nicer is that Amy still had the title with his name on it, which I'll certainly keep! Yeah, it'll be nice to get one of his own built ups too........some of them though I can understand if she wants to keep them.
  8. Scott, you can check out Amy's listings here. She's an excellent seller and very pleasant to deal with!
  9. Frank, I can't speak to that kit as I've never built it. It's safe to say that if it's an original Tamiya tooling, there shouldn't be any drama building it. I'm sure lurking out there, that there's a Tamiya tooled kit that someone had difficulty with, I've not run into such a person though.
  10. Frank, I think you'll be very pleased with the way Tamiya's kits go together! You might end up being spoiled by them! The only exception I can think of is the BMW 850i I built a little while ago. In Tamiya's defense however, that kit was actually a reboxed Revell of Germany brand, and man did it show! Other than that, I've never had not even the slightest bit of difficulty with a Tamiya kit.
  11. Old topic, but I want to bring this back to the fore. If one were to paint the sidewalls tire black for instance, wouldn't that halt the reaction of the vinyl stickers against the vinyl tires? I have a project down the road where I may need to make my own redline tires. I have one of those circle cutters as TĂșlio describes in his original post and this curiosity struck me. Any thoughts?
  12. Richard, thanks for the info about the C6! Some pics I have show the trans black, some a steel/aluminum color. I have a lot of pics of the Shelby's underside, but not good pics of the front end/trans area. They mostly focus on the rear end since the car does have and IRS setup. As far as the Thermactor pump, pics I have of the engine bay definitely show the pump on the passenger side of the engine. It's also showing the ports for the system as you mentioned. I don't know when the car was restored, but this is pretty much as the car appears today-------that's what I'm shooting for. I thought emission systems such as those were put in Fords in California sometime in the mid '60's (1965-66 timeframe). It could have been something that was rolled out progressively? I don't know. As far as Photobucket, FORGET THEM! They're not worth dealing with any longer. You can post your pic directly from your PC here if you'd like. Much more user friendly than PB! Before I get too far on the engine, I'll repaint most of the trans as I have plenty of aluminum paint------shouldn't be a problem over the acrylic black.
  13. Great looking paint Steve! As far as '50's cars, I can't knock any of them as those were the first cars I can remember seeing when I first new what a car was! It's all relative I guess to when you first arrive on this planet. 50 years from now believe it or not, today's cars will be collectibles.
  14. FINALLY!! Some FANTASTIC Shelby ten spokes!! These are made by Plamoz, and I have to say that these are THE BEST 10 spokes I've ever seen! Perfect offset, perfect taper to the spokes, perfectly sized! If you're ever serious about building a 1967-68 Shelby with 10 spokes, you've GOT to get a set of these wheels! Cost was $9.99 plus $4.00 for shipping. If you want to check out Plamoz and want to order, just mozy on over here! A MUST HAVE! If you remember a few pages back, I mocked up GMP's 10 spokes on the Shelby............ Here are the Plamoz wheels just mocked up on the body for now. Naturally, this won't be the ride height-----that'll be determined as I build up the suspension. Namely the rear, as that's going to be practically scratchbuilt as it's an IRS setup and was unique to this car. Painting the wheels will come further down the road after I get the body painted, and once things are set as far as the chassis and suspension. Plamoz on their site had the wheels mounted onto Round 2's Parts Pack Goodyear F70's. I have those tires, but thought the F60's were better suited as shown here. The F70's seem to tall for me compared to this type of car. Of course this is personal preference...........some might like those taller tires. Now those GMP wheels aren't bad at all...........but I have to give the nod to Plamoz for knocking the ball outta the park with this set. Nice resin, no pinholes, no distortion of any sort, just spot on! That's it for now......still plugging away at the engine, but I had to show you guys this!
  15. That would be great Michael!
  16. That's one of those things that if I ever get to building mine, that's a MUST have! I couldn't imagine buying a 1:1 without a spare! I never paid any attention to that detail until this thread came up........now it'll be on my mind every time I see it!
  17. Manuel, that is too cool!! And this is coming from someone that's built one street rod in my entire modeling life! You guys are tempting me..........I've got a wacky idea rolling around in my head which involves a Corvette! Gotta finish the Shelby and then the Fury first though!
  18. Cool boat Manuel! Of course, it's gotta be a Stude! Love the blending of the roofline with the lower portion of the boat! I stand by Fotki as far as hosting pics since I go on other sites. Now like others, everything is on my hard disc in one place or another. There are pics that are not on my current hard disc, but on others. I have those drives still so if Fotki ever waves goodbye for some reason, I still have my pics. As far as the cloud, I do have Carbonite on my laptop. I did have an incident a while back where someone sent something via email (one of those send to 10 people tomfoolery) and sure enough, something got in my OS that I ended up having to wipe the disc clean. Thank goodness I had Carbonite or otherwise I would have lost everything. Oh! The person that sent that email?? I read them the riot act and mentoned in no uncertain terms that they should NOT send something like that out without knowing where it came from!
  19. Just want to give a shout out for those who live in or near the Central PA area. Tom Rice (SSMan) and I are starting a club and our first meeting date will be August 19, 2017 at the Mechanicsburg Public Library. Meeting time will be 10-2. The address for the library is: 16 N Walnut St Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 This will be an impromptu meeting of sorts-----no contests, awards, and such----just some folks getting together to talk models and car stuff. So, if you're interested, feel free to drop by, and bring whatever you're working on----or not! We are calling ourselves H.A.M.S.....Harrisburg Area Modelers Society. Future meeting dates and times will be determined at a later time. This will be up to the discretion of the library, as the room might not be available on the same Saturdays each month. Any questions, feel free to PM me. Thanks, and hope to see some of you there! Bill

HA! Check that out! I LOVE it! This looks to be the 1:12 scale is it not? Nevertheless, a very tiny model for that scale!
  23. That I don't know. If all else fails, you could always order it online.
  24. Yup! Lots and lots of kits I see!
  25. VERY NICE! I love '56 Nomads! Now it we can somehow, someway get a DECENT '57, I'd be all set! That car is crying out for a righteous kit of it.
