  1. Well lessee.............. You all know that I'm more into the vintage stuff................but there's some new iron out there I would LOVE to see in kit form. How 'bout........ 2008 Cadillac CTS 2006 to current Pontiac Soltstice, or 2007-08 Saturn Sky Current Cadillac Escalade 2007 Ford Interceptor Concept Car 2008 Pontiac G8 (top line version) As far as vintage iron............. 1968-70 Mustang Shelby GT350-GT500KR Convertible 1957-58 Studebaker Golden Hawk (Long Shot! ) 1959 Corvette Stingray Racer 1964-65 Shelby Daytona Coupe 1970 Plymouth Barracuda coupe and convertible (a CORRECT one!) I'm sure there are some others.............I just can't think that straight this time of day--------I'm suffering from a "turkey" hangover of sorts.
  2. I Love It! The weathering and other small details are top notch! That car makes such a perfect subject..............maybe because there's so much of it to work with! Your tinted windows look great! Which paint did you use for that?
  3. Mike here ya go.............. Click Here......... Looks like a GREAT tutorial------I may have to try that myself when I get around to building mine!
  4. Nice! I like what I see so far! The green one with the open sunroof I especially like!
  5. Darin, that is Gorgeous!! Did you take the roof section off the old Gunze kit? That looks 100% better with the added roof than just a convertible! I have that kit laying around, and now there's a good reason to build it!
  6. Hi and welcome! First, I should tell you that you'll need to put your full name in your signature area.....(done in "My Controls") so we know who we're talking to. When I paint my parts, I really don't do so until the part is needed. If it's a kit I'm not familiar with or one that has a TON of parts (like your Ferrari) I'll connect them to something and then paint it. That way parts don't get lost or damaged. Also, especially with a kit that has a lot of parts, you'll definitely want to test fit your parts before painting. It'll never seem to fail that you have that part all prettied up and painted, only to have it not fit when it's time! I use various types of paints......ranging from water based acrylics, to lacquers. I strongly recommend that you DON'T paint your parts with hobby enamels! You can grow old waiting for them to dry completely adding to the frustration. The only exception might be if a certain shade is only available in a hobby enamel, then you may have no choice. At this point I recommend a food dehydrator to speed things up..........especially for enamels. 10 hours for painting actually isn't that long if it's spread out over a period of time................I just couldn't do it all in one shot! HTH!
  7. Lee, PSAB requires that your computer has Java. Make sure you have the latest Java runtime software installed even though it's a new one. I got mine new back in June and the software was outdated already. You can check out the download here. HTH!
  8. Ditto for me also Ismael. You can't beat the price and the prints are of excellent quality! I got my prints in a little over a week IIRC.
  9. Wow! I'm so sorry you got stuck with that piece of ######! I have the R&R '56 Hawk, and it's downright nice casting with very little cleanup. I was going to comment when you posted this the first time that the chassis wasn't right. You're correct....Studebaker never adopted the unibody frame right up 'til the bitter end in 1966. This is really a shame 'cuz there's really a need for a nice, currently offered casting of a 1962-64 Stude Hawk GT.
  10. My '55 Ford definitely won't make by the end of the year.............too much stuff to do yet! Of course, there's the stillborn '64 GTO which I've totally lost interest in. Don't look for that one to be done anytime soon..........
  11. Great lookin' 'Vette John! The stance is just perfect on that one!
  12. Ha! It's hard to tell if it's coming or going!
  13. AHHHH!! I remember THAT guy! (That was his name) It was back in the early '90's IIRC, and he also had a '89 Ford LTD, a '92 Oldsmobile 98, and a Chrysler TC by Maserati! I can't remember the magazine it was in at the time (No it wasn't SAE)........it was a popular model magazine of the day------and I DO remember the absolute avalanche of hate mail they got! And yes his stuff was downright disgusting looking...............to the point where I don't know how the magazine even bothered to show his stuff to begin with. Talk about embarassing!
  14. Luis, that paint job is outta this world!! Fantastic job!!
  15. Phew! Gregg if I ran all those programs at once (I've got 1 gig of memory with Vista), my OS would crash from apoplexy! Despite what Microsoft says about Vista, it still has it's hangups-----and I still WON'T use IE! I'll stick with Firefox and use IE as an extension. When I'm in for the market for a new computer again, (I just got this one in June) I'll check out a Mac. I went with a new Dell because my job has a laison with Dell, and we get them at a discount along with a payment plan out of our paycheck.
  16. Jeff the closest I can think of chassis wise that might do may be the one out of the '67 Mustang from Ertl. You may have to shorten it up a bit, and some of the frame details may need corrected, but they have pretty much the same unibody construction. Heck even the front suspension and inner fenders are similar! The front suspension you probably could use, because it looks for all the world like AMC's trunion setup which was used through 1969. AMC switched to a standard ball joint setup for '70.
  17. Hmmm.................that's a real tuffy on a closer look................
  18. One more thing Jeff, what engine did you use.............the one out of the Johan kit? Yours is giving me inspiration to maybe build one next year, but I can't stand the engine as is in the kit. It needs a LOT of mods to make correct and yours is looking exactly right per the 1:1!
  19. First off Jeff, you're building one of my all time favorite 1:1's I've owned in the past! I had a '69 with the 390, 4 spd, 3:54 rear end with posi. She was a stripped down original with NO options (drum brakes and no pwr steering!) and could tear your head off in any gear! Boy do I sure miss that car! I owned it from '87-'92 and sold it when I was about to be stationed down in South Carolina at Fort Jackson in '92. I could kick myself now as I was sent home on a medical discharge not long after I got there due to a knee injury. Had my crystal ball been working, I would have never sold it! A guy up in Berwick bought it.................not sure if he still owns it after 15 years. And yes, AMX's were rare even when I had mine 20 years ago................and they're now getting decent prices on the collector market. One nice thing about 1968- 70 AMX's is you can't fake 'em.................either ya got one or ya don't! Unlike Mustangs and 'Vette's ( and others) that can be faked with big blocks, or Shelby conversions, etc. Your engine detail is a knockout!! It looks like the Group 19 parts you put on that were available from the dealer in '69! The color you want to build it in is a good one with the black stripes (part of the Go Pack option). I definitely want to follow this one! Keep us posted!
  20. Adam, I don't have any experience with the type of putty you're trying to use.................I can tell you it looks as though you should use equal parts of each "stick", just like as if you were mixing putty 5 min. epoxy. If I were you however, I would not fill in the entire seat back with putty! I would use as much plastic as possible then fill in the seams with the putty. The seatback pattern shouldn't be too hard to trace on sheet plastic. I usually use automotive putty to fill in bodywork where needed. Best way to go with something like this is to test it out on something scrap at first, to avoid surprises later. Also it's good to get a feel for how it works since it's new to you.
  21. I like that!! Very nice and clean!
  22. Yes! What he said! Nothing's better!
  23. Oh Man! That's a KNOCKOUT!! Much better than the actual car Ford made!
  24. Yeah! I'll take mine medium rare!
  25. Now that's funny!
