I usually skip the cars & coffee if its rainy as higher end car don't usually come out as it moves the first floor of the parking deck which is would cut the number of attendees by about 75%. The local Concours D'Elegance is today and on the Saturday before they have a tour of the country side. Weather permitting, there is always great stuff. in the past, Lane Automotive Museum has brought a Messerschmidt, a Tatra, etc. There has been a DeTomaso Mangusta, and other rare cars. I passed yesterday as showers in the area I didn't expect much. This is what I missed yesterday!!!

My youngest graduates on Wednesday and his last day was this past Thursday. The school send a Senior Survey....not sure if it was for the students or the parents as well but the wife and I received it in our e-mail so its for game. Don't wanna know, don't ask!! Survey asked about the view on security. Low score for letting the kid who made the Facebook threat of shooting up the school come back after spending time in juvie! And a second offense of a threat directly towards a teacher. His first offense should have been expulsion/prohibited from school grounds. Final question was what I change.....I said the entire office staff!! Mispelled his name on an award Junior year, marking him absent when the golf team had matches, a clerical error that took over a month to clear and I had to go to the Superintendent to fix, absentee calls when we tell them (live person) the day before his college visit. His last day was Thursday....I got an absentee call yesterday and Progress alert this morning for something he didn't turn in yesterday.

During a Joint Traffic Enforcement Detail at approximately 1:20 a.m. this morning Dayton OH officers caught a 15-year-old driving 104 miles per hour on Route 4. The 15-year-old did not have a license nor a temporary permit. There were four other people in the vehicle and all of them were under 22 years of age. The 15-year-old was cited, given a court date, and officers called his mother to come get him. Wait...Driving those speeds and NOT on the Interstate? Not arrested....car not impounded....? Wow....just WOW!

Had blood drawn for a pending follow up on my A1C levels. In three months, dropped the A1C from 9.9 to 7.7 and Est Ave Glucose from 237 to 174.

Okey Spaulding @Johan Models (no hyphen in Johan) had them this past weekend at the Cincinnati model club show. I think they were $7 each.

I added one more thing to talks with my sons. You are judged by the company you keep and you'll start seeing you need to jettison some of your friends. For my oldest, I know one of his friends is dead from drugs, a couple have done stints in a 'gated community' and several that are almost 30 years old and still live with their parents because they have zero motivation to get a job/improve themselves.

From the final Franklin Ohio Plastic Model Swap Meet (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1045465047247107) yesterday. The Pyro kit was from a toy/collectible store. Complete inside (and lovely grape color)....minor yellowing of the box.

I like the odd, unusual kits. Didn't really expect to find this on courtesy of Atomic City! Only things I know missing is the directions.

Over two months late but finally got the fountain grass cut down today. Every weekend it's either been raining or too cold to do it. I think all the neighbors had the same thought as the curb line is lined with stuff folks cut down this weekend.

https://www.facebook.com/AtomicCityModelCars/ Stopped in after the kick off of a local Cars & Coffee. They have the front and back bumpers (unchromed). I think it they were $10 for both. If you can live with vacuum formed glass, they have front and rear glass for $7/each. They will ship

Looking the video of the DAAM show in Detroit last weekend on YouTube, one vendor looked like he blew out Hobby Lobby and Ollie's. -
What's with the U.S.Post office these days?
HomerS replied to styromaniac's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
My employer mailed out about 50 checks on February 25th. As of today, 40% of them have not been received and will likely need reissued. -
After achieving setting a new high score on the A1C test two weeks ago, I've made diet modifications (mostly checking carbs) a long with an Rx. Never a big sweets eater even as a kid (being allergic to chocolate took care of that!). Wife tested my blood sugar yesterday......149 down from 273 two weeks ago. Doing a call with the diabetic dietician in ten days so I'll know what other foods I'm about to lose from my life. (The spicy noodle bowls from Sam's was a hard cut).

The shelters around here are a three day hold period and then they are available for adoption. My parents caught a BIchon running loose and called the shelter. They said if he isn't redeemed they wanted to adopt. No one showed up and they adopted him.

What's with the U.S.Post office these days?

The flyer/discount coupon for the Dayton Ohio Toy Show on February 16th arrived today (March 1st). It's postmarked January 28th from Columbus, Ohio. I live in the Cincinnati area! -
Dr's office wouldn't renew my Rx for blood pressure meds until they drew labs. Previous two times, I didn't fast so they couldn't draw blood then. Second time, I got blasted by the Dr for not fasting but I told her to go address that with {name redacted} at the front desk as I asked her if I needed to and she told me I did not. Sucked it up and had blood drawn but I get a call the next day asking me to come into the office. Last time I was checked, my A1C was high but I never went on line to see how high as I was told marginally high. This time, I set a new high score. Like golf, high score is not a good thing! Hey, at least it was still in single digits. Met with a different Dr...probably young enough to be my kid. "When you saw that number, what did you think?" Seriously?? That's like having a State Trooper at your window knowing you lit up his radar.....what do you want me to say other than I'm screwed? Wife (a nurse) went with me to the Dr appointment so THAT was a fun ride home. She wants me to toss the Doritos, Nutter Butter cookies and all my less than healthy foods. I refused but I told her I won't replenish them once gone. Monday I get a call from a dietectic consultant that I expressed interest in a meeting. 1) Um no I didn't and 2) the lady was likely the captain of the cheer squad in college!!! If I wasn't diabetic now, five minutes talking to her I may be now. Great you enjoy your job but ratchet down the "Yeah TEAM!!" personality!!!! Zero credit for losing 15 pounds since the last Dr visit! Started on Metformin to bring the A1C number down. The diet changes are gonna be a struggle.
