Meet Frank The wife wanted a dachshund and she made it clear I've picked the last four dogs so it was her turn. We were at our teenagers summer baseball game Sunday when a local pet store post two on their FB page. By the we left the game, one was already in the parking lot on his way to a new home and the other was at the register finalizing his paperwork. Fast forward to Wednesday and one of the dogs got returned because it appeared he is deaf. They wanted him to be adopted by someone who had experience with a deaf dog and knew hand signals. My Aussie that passed last year was fostered with a deaf dog so we know some of the signals. He clearly has some impairment but he can certainly hear some things. My parents had a BIchon and mom named him Jacques. I said he needs a strong German name....Wilhelm, Gerhardt, etc. But he has blue eyes so he could be Frank Sinatra. Frank it is! Any dog had to be a male as I have two female 'followers' (35pound pekanese/border collie and a 50 pound Aussie) so Mr five and a month old, six pounder may become the alpha dog.

Our office is in a very nice Class A building in the 'burbs. Periodically they have a mobile car wash come into the parking lot. Washes are expensive but I had a coupon courtesy of the landlord for a free basic wash. I went down and talked with the two young men and asked if they could do anything about remnants of the bachelor quantity dog yak I wasn't able to clean out of the pocket where the seat buckle is. I said she missed the carpet, door panels and even the seat back! Guys said they couldn't make any promises but they would try. I told them I tip well if you can get it better than my fat fingers could. Couple hours later, they called me my car was ready. I went down and one of them opened the door and it was immaculate. They didn't charge me anything and I tipped them each $40! They were stunned!! I said I was once young and had to work out in this 90 degree plus heat so I appreciate their hard work! Riley has to go to the groomer tomorrow so I will take several blankets to cover everything.

Years ago we had a greyhound and the rescue failed to tell us about their separation anxiety. After he managed to break out of his crate, the vet initially put him on calming meds but the doggy downers made him aggressive. (That story ends well as we got him a roommate and problem was resolved immediately). My Aussie I adopted a year ago was abused and loud noises scare her. If you have a CBD store in the area, talk to them. Riley is on a calming product and it takes the edge off for her and she isn't in panic mode.

I picked up these today as they were on 'seasonal' clearance at 75% (less than $4/each). The shelf was bear where they usually were so I asked the clerk and he confirmed they are discontinuing to carry die cast.

When Bob is on, he cannot be beat! When Bob is off, he is a screen door. Watched him for years backstopping the Blue Jackets.

Oh I agree that it's out of control! Kroger was one of the first companies to remove the extra pay during pandemic.

Bulgogi Beef Banh Mi sandwich Aldi's has a spicy Bulgogi sauce so I grabbed several bottles. I'm surprised the wife actually tried it and liked it.

Wife called me from the local WM a couple day ago as there was a shipper in the toy department but mostly the Coca Cola models. I stopped by this a.m. and apparently the other shipper just got set. Grabber a couple Demons, a Mach Won and an AWB Chevelle. Great show (Cincinnati Challenge) today. Grabbed a couple things in the swap meet area but did have a couple stand outs. Really like the oddball Hueller Citroen kits. Dealer didn't have the vans with him today. Yeah I know there is talk about the Revell 62's coming back but until I have one in my hands, I wasn't passing up this piece of Detroit Iron (partially assembled but not painted).

That's great news! I know when I take furry kids to the vet, I'm worse than a parent. If you have trees in your yard, watch for anything squirrels bring in or birds drop in the yard.

Dodge Stealth/Mitsubishi 3000GT too. I had one...base model as insurance carriers were not the friend of a single, male and under 30 when I bought it (even with a clean driving record). The car was cursed as I bought it from a guy who had two kids, his new wife also had two and they made two more. I sold it due to parenthood as well.

Stash organization

It's very unorganized but I started with the VW's as I have more than I care to admit on the PL Beetle. I needed several for a diorama but I exceeded what I planned for. The Der Beetle Bus were Ollie's buys for different versions I've found on the web. I have no excuse on the Deals VW van and the Baja Humbugs. -
Agreed. If someone went out of their way, especially at a store I get their name and e-mail home office. When my Dad's dementia was ramping up, he had two walk away moments in one day. The second (and final time), it was a warm spring evening and dad dressed is was almost winter and went for a walk....down the entrance ramp of a two lane highway! Police called me and I went to go get him. He was in the back of a squad car and I had a brief chat with the officers (the highway sits on the corporation line of two cities and there was a car from each city). I explained what was going on, thanked them both of corralling him and took him home. Next day, I sent a thank you to the Chief of both cities calling out what their officers did and took that 'protect and serve' beyond the norm. The smaller neighboring town sent back an acknowledgement and his appreciation for taking the time to let him know. He said he would pass it along as well as note it in her file. My home town Chief sent back a 'thanks'.

A co-worker had her knee replacement surgery yesterday and came through with flying colors. She had the other knee done a couple years ago. Her husband sent us a video as she was already up walking and able to bend it to sit in a chair. I'm heading that way in the future as the Dr who scoped both of mine told me I will likely need it due to degenerative arthritis in knees. Bad knees come from my maternal grandfather....but I also have his hairline (he passed at 90 years old with a full crop), so I'm willing to stay its a fair trade.

The wife had a surgery right after Thanksgiving which entailed cutting out a part of her skull so they gave her the serious pain meds. Walgreens pushed me to get the Narcan Rx the Dr wrote for too. She is a nurse and worked many years in the ER. Don't have to worry about her OD'ing or abusing it.

With the correct Rx, it's a breeze. Three of my four had to be broken up to remove them. Thank to Percodan I recall going in on Monday and next think I knew it was Tuesday. My mom said I did everything the dentist told me to do and even thumbed through my Hot Rod Magazine that came that day.
