The best thing I can think of if have to have the plate from that EXACT Ford dealer is to photoreduce it. Next time you have a few minutes on a nice day, take your camera down to the dealership, and take a picture of the plate on a car or truck from about 25 feet away. Then upload the pic to your computer and either transfer the image to decal paper or if you don't have decal paper, print the pic and cut the license plate from the picture. This was the way to make custom real plates way before the digital age!

Don, I know with me personally, I but sometimes I remember where the parts came from just because I bought the donor kit just for the purpose of bashing it with the project, then in other cases I just grab an unknown part from the parts box or from my good friend's parts box. There have been many times I will be at his house looking through stuff and I'll have that "This will work for that project" type moment, and he tells me to take it. His origanization skills mean kit sources are often unknown, because I could look in a 57 Chevy box and find a pickup truck. No wonder he forgets where he puts things and loses parts, he has no idea what is in what box! Mike, since I've joined the forum and trading parts, I have came up with a nice system to know what parts are from what kits. If there are custom wheels and tires I know I will not use, I take a snack size Ziploc bag (or sandwich bag, quart, or whatever size depending on the parts) and write the kit name and manufacture on the bag. That way if someone needs the custom wheels and tires (or whatever) from, for example, Revell's California Wheels 67 Chevelle, I can dig through the wheels with ease to find them. Obviously you don't suffer from C.R.S. like I do! I can paint something and sometimes 5 minutes later not tell you what color it was! I have started writing down on the instruction sheet what color I paint the body, interior, etc, that way if it goes back on the shelf, I have an idea of what colors I need.

I'm not sure but I might have an extra of the 40 Fords, I'll check for you. The nice thing with the trailers (at least the flats) is there are nice possiblities for straight trucks, too. I have the Rammunition, I haven't built it yet, but from the scan through I gave the parts and instructions, it looks like a very nice kit. I just wish my local Ollie's had them and the semis, most of what they had was the Crown Victoria police cars. A case of those, a 37 Cord, and a Dodge Dakota followed me home!

I don't know, but I think the thread might not have died if everyone would have stuck to more simple choice you didn't have to be an auto historian to answer. Even with something that would seem simple like this, it's still challenge enough to come up with model and year, especially since this particular style ran for 5 years. In my honest opinion, I started loosing interest as soon as the "I haven't ever even see anything like that before" types came in to play.

I hope your want add can get you some new ones, it looks great with the graphics.

Where did you get the lights from? I've been thinking of lighting a "Christmas Tree" sometime myself!

It might be too late depending on how soon you read this and how long it's already been since you applied the decals, but you might want to try using a damp (not wet, just damp) paper towel to EASILY work the wrinkles out. That might also help work the extra glue out, too. I'm not sure if it will work or not, but it's worth a try. Also, just if it doesn't and the off chance you can find another set of those decals, scan them on your computer and get some decal paper if you don't have some already. I have started to scan all my decals just for this reason, that way if the originals do like they did to you, I can try to make more.

Sounds like the seller of this wonderful piece of junk a member was going to build for my truck community build. At least I believe he said he was able to get his money back after a few of us told him to send it back. I think this one needs some "Hammer Time", too!!

I don't know the kit, but that doesn't sound bad for a factory sealed kit. I've seen (and lost bids on ) much newer kits for much more money!

I like it Clayton, it's turning out nicely. I've been throwing around the idea of scratchbuilding my own trailer like the ones on "American Loggers" that they started building in their shop. Maybe even do one of their big doubles set!

Mike, I can't really offer too much help other than with my point and shoot HP camera I have is to make sure you have the macro setting on. I use the macro setting on almost every pic I take for posting here, just like this one. Here is one from about the same distance as the engine, but this was before I learned about the macro setting!

Wow, I have to get a chance to sit down at the desk and get building, things are looking great guys! I've just been so busy lately I haven't even had the chance to read through new posts for almost two weeks! I'm trying to get things sorted out to go back to school after 17 years so I can finally get some college learnin done. On top of that, my better half is picking up more time at work, which means my alter ego Russian taxi driver Piccup Androppov is busier driving her back and forth to work. Also the technical support department has been busy with my mother in law's computer, while still trying to reinstall everything on my main computer from the virus attack I had and not to mention the better half's boss's computer that is here to see if my still to be college educated brain is smart enough to fix it! Anyway, the weather is finally warming up here, so I hope to get some building and painting done soon, and maybe get some of the much needed work on my 1:1 rig that has piled up over the winter done, too!

Boy, the things you miss when you aren't on for a couple days!! I was busy on St. Patty's Day, and no, not at the bar either! Then Friday I was busy working on my mother in law's computer and today helping a friend work on his truck, and finally I have time to come to the internet place I love. Anyway, this isn't very green, but it does have green on it. I swear the frame is green, at least when the light hits it right!
