I know there are certainly some issues with Round 2 kits....but I THOUGHT the idea was to get a second shot at some older tools that were / are long gone.... you get the kit back with a few upgrades but essentially it is the same thing... that works for me... I also have to suspect that MOST folks here don't build the kit (or any kit ....very few any way) .... box stock..... so I never quite could understand the moans and groans.... If there had been serious quality issues or a lack of fidelity or scale problems I could kinda understand the brickbats...... but it is still nice to have this and other kits back regardless of issues.... c'mon folks.... you're gonna hack these things up with no mercy anyway!!!! I have to agree (SORT OF) with the stock tire comments but.... I got some tires from Don Holthaus recently.... 270's I think... and they are VASTLY superior to ANYTHING the in the kits..... yeah I know... you pay for the kit and no stock tires.... I get it ........but the after market clearly has a much better product....I would rather step up for the extra tires than have a sub-standard....or poor try at stock tires in the kit.... just my two cents... My favorite is the Penske 66 Corvette.... that is a neat 1:1 car and the kit is very nice... in fact I am using two of the kits to build a stock version to match my 1:1 66 Corvette..... You did a great job on these cars.... hope to see more of your work!! Regards Bill (Duntov)

By the way... I am not sure what the motor under the driver floor board would have been but in some earlier Cadillacs (later 40's and early 50's) there was a small heater fan assembly and motor that circulated air.... perhaps this is what that is? It got moved into the car under the seat in later years. I am not an expert on the 57's but if I had to guess........
