  1. Looks fine to me. You do know that the hood does bulge up in the back between the scoops right? Here is a good link to the hood.
  2. Just a quick note. The hood, trunk, front header panel, front vallance panel, side scoops, rear spoiler fender end caps and taillight panel were all fiberglass and would not rust.
  3. Very nice project!. I myself am building a 70 GTO Judge from the MPC kit. I'm doing mine in Orbit Orange. To answer the question above, Hugger Orange is the same as Carousel Red, but Orbit Oange is more yellow.
  4. I must say that you did a great job with this kit. I have built three of these 67 & 68 AMT kits. One of them I did as a 67 RS/SS Pace Car convertible. I know what it took to build this and you should be proud of it.
  5. While I would love to see this kit rereleased I know it's a slim chance. Even if it was I allready have 4 or 5 of them. Here is a 72 that I restored with a new tool 71 Charger chassis upgrade.
  6. None. If one becomes available, I will buy one or two!
  7. That is perfect. I already have five of those donor kits.
  8. I bought both the GTS and the standard Pantera kit. Both are curbside without engines and are very nice. They are similar in construction as the Gunze kits. The decals are different and only the front bumpers and front turn signal parts are different in the two Fujimi kits. I have not built mine yet.
  9. Contact Greg Wann, That was his auction and he is a member here.
  10. This is fun to think about and a bit surprising. #1 Revell 65-66 Shelby's, I have built about 10 of these over the years and even combined two of them with the 64 pace car to build a 66 GT350 conv. Currently I have 6 built up on display and 6 more unbuilt. #2 Revell 70 Mustangs, Here is another one I have built all versions of this kit from the Boss 429, Boss 302 and the new Mach 1. I have even kit bashed these with the 69 Mach 1 to make the 69 Boss models. #3 Revell Shelby Cobra's, Another one that I have built 5 or 6 over the years and have anout 6 more unbuilt. #4 Revell Thunderbolt, Again a great kit that I have built 2 of and have 3 more unbuilt. #5 Revell 71 Hemi Cuda, I have 5 of these built up and some converted to 70 models plus I have 4 more unbuilt. Great simple kit. #6 Revell 32 Fords, I'm not into these hot rods but this kit is awesome. I built two and have three more unbuilt. #7 Revell 69 Camaro, Another kit that if you havn't built one of these you need to. I have built two and have more than 10 unbuilt. Revell has many versions of this kit to choose from. #8 AMT 71 Charger, Awesome newer tool that I have built two almost out of the box. I have also kitbashed this kit with 3 older MPC and AMT kits for a much better detailed kit. I have 5 more in my stash for kit bashing. #9 AMT 68 Roadrunner, great kit that I have built 2 of right out of the box plus the 2 69 GTX version. I have also kitbashed this chassis with some resin bodies for a total of 9 built and I have 6 more unbuilt. #10 AMT 69 Olds 442, Great kit to build out of the box or kitbash with older GM A body kits. I have built 5 of these and have about 5 more unbuilt to kitbash. Works great with the old Johan 70 442 kit.
  11. The revell kit is real nice and it is a simple kit to build. I have built many of them. Your title says your doing a 66 and that kit is the most common. The picture you posted is a 65. Revell did kit the 66 and the 65. The 65 version was only released once I believe. The reason I bring this up is that you stated that you wanted to build the most proper 66. The 66 model had more color options and Shelby tried a few more performance options in 66. All the 65 street versions were white with the blue stripes the only major option was what wheels were put on them.
  12. I understood that he closed up shop.
  13. They are talking about the solstice coupe, not the roadster. I think it is a very nice looking car. I will agree that it does not belong on the list thou.
  14. Kevin's 70 AMX is a very nice kit. I have two of them! It's was that nice.
  15. I don't know how many of you would be interested in a 1969 Javelin SST. I have wanted to restore a built up and after much work and with the help of a promo. I decided to cast up a kit. What do you think? It does not have an engine or wheels, glass and a tail light lens. Modelhaus sells the lens with the Javelin emblem or the AMX one will work too.
  16. Sorry to hear you sold that General Lee but you can build another. I have a hard time selling any of my built ones. Also as Jonathan said Maricopa County AZ (phoenix and suburbs) has emissions that add to the cost. My 71's cost $20 each year for the test but the newer cars are $27 every two years. The registartion is based on year of vehicle and value. When my 99 S10 was new it was $500.00 for the first year but now that it is 13 years old it's $70 for two years. The 1971 is now $49 registation a year (includes $25 personalized plate) that I pay for every year.
  17. I build mostly factory stock muscle cars. I have a few 50's cars and exotics in my pyle too. Plus the occasional race car and custom thrown it.
  18. I'm sorry about that. I was a little tired and thankfully it was cleared up by the following posts.
  19. The blue box kit has a pic of the 69 428 CJ version, but it has the decals of the 428 and it is the Eliminator version with the wheels from the Yellow box art and a Boss 302 engine. If you want the Mercury styled steel wheels and the 428CJ you need this kit below. Also note that this kit shown below is also the Eliminator version with extra chrome wheels and some other chrome parts too.
  20. They are deffinatly great kits that will challenge you. I built the Testors Countach 5000s back in the 80's. I loved that car but it didn't survive. I now have 7 different versions of the Countach kit and have 2 of them in the works. I also have the Porsche 356a. I must say I can't wait to build that puzzle. I say puzzle because I'm amazed that you can get 250ish parts in that little body!! This is as far as I got on them. I have finished both chassis.
  21. The original 66 Shelby Hertz cars were sold directly to hertz from Shelby and a special model was made. The 68-70 Shelby's were made by Ford and Hertz picked up a few Shelby's from Ford dealers. Not as many were bought and they are not considered a special model. Just special original owner.
  22. I'm real interested in your conversion. I built a 67 Pace Car using the 67 Z/28 and AMT 69 Camaro convert. I mainly used the big block and convertible boot from that kit.
  23. Wow, And I traded mine away for a resin transkit. What a bad trade that turned out to be...
