  1. That is not bad!! I just painted my car and the basecoat was $815 a gallon and the clear was $400 a gallon. I wonder how much those glass bottles cost x 256? Glass isn't cheep and those bottles use alot of it for what they hold.
  2. I would like to kitbash it with the 2010 GT500 that is now out.
  3. I'm excited about the 32 ford and the 62 Vette. It is no surprise since I just got the Historic Racing Miniatures 62 transkit for the Monogram 59 kit. Also the Monogram 59 kit has a hardtop in it and the 58 Promodeler has a soft top uptop in it. The rear glass may be leftover from the 59 kit. I also just remembered that most of the Revell Corvette roadsters have tops. The 53/54 kit has a softop, 57 kit has a hardtop, 67 kit has a softtop and the 68 kit has both tops.
  4. I don't know of many but they did offer an enthusiest series that was full detail. I have a few of the Lamborghini Countach kit's.
  5. Very nice job! I like this kit also I have built two so far, Russ Davis and this version also. I have three more unbuilt in my stash. I also hignly recomend this kit!!
  6. I thought it was a good picture of a flying motor!!
  7. Nice job!! It came out great!
  8. Yes it is!!! I live in Peoria (AZ) and it's 13 miles from my house!!
  9. Thanks everyone. Yes it is the kit's engine.
  10. I'm going to get one or two of those!!
  11. The new one is painted with Testors model master spray in Grabber Blue.
  12. Here is the old one. The body was airbrushed with a custom mix of testors white and blue to get the color close to grabber blue. It also only has BMF on the hood. The white interior was airbrushed but all the black was brushpainted. It looks pretty good from back then and is one of my better builds from back in the day. I don't have any side by side photo's but I could take some.
  13. Here is another one that I finished up earlier this year. This one is right out of the box with one exception. It's the classic Revell 1070 Boss 429. I did change out the blank sidewall tires for the same ones with the Goodyear lettering that the older issues had. I built this one just like the old one I built over 20 years ago that I still have. This one was somewhat of a quick build.
  14. I started a kitbash using the 69 Barracuda and the 71 Duster kits. It's not easy and takes lots of fitting. Here are some pics of the work I did. I had to hollow out the rear vallance panel and trim the rear section of the chassis. I also shortened the wheelbase of the Duster chassis the with of my hacksaw blade. This project stalled for a few years and has been sitting. I recently got the Bandit Resin 69 Notchback and that killed this one somewhat. I recently pulled it out of my pyle and started converting it to a 68. It will mostlikely end up being a S/S Barracuda now.
  15. I love it. It is a direct copy of the AMT kit. Here is one I restored to look similar to our 71 Malibu. I would love a Malibu dash too. The Malibu hood is a nice touch.
  16. Gabriel, I beleive those ones that are molded in color are the 70 GTX version and not the Roadrunner that came latter.
  17. My thought exactly!! Nice job.
  18. Nice job. I'm building one of these now in a similar fassion. It's a good kit that i'm enjoying. As for your next kit get one of the Revell 69 Camaro's. You will enjoy it and they offered it in a Yenko version as well.
  19. What did Dr Pepper do to you!! That build is just awesome. I love it.
  20. Oops, Here is the motor pic. I will look into the black out on the keystones, Thanks.
  21. Here is one I wanted to build for a long time. I bought one of these when I was a kid and rode my bike to Valley West mall (a local mall that is now gone) and bought the Johan kit. I think it was back in 87 when I did it. I glued the motor together and brush painted it. I broke one of the rear wheels when I tore it off the sprue. Then I lost a front rim. It sat in the box all these years needing wheels. I recently purchased a built up from another club member for $5 that had a good set of wheels. My original kit was molded in orange. I decided to dismantle the built up since it was not a glue bomb. Then I stripped the paint and had a white molded kit that was perfect for a rebuild. I just needed glass, wheels, and the front suspension peice that was missing. So I got some wheels from Modelhaus and traded for the rest of the missing parts. Now I had two complete kits to build from. I used Tamiya spray white with red and blue from my airbrush. I used Testors Guard Red and Olds Engine Blue on it. The decals are slixx and I added plug wires and photoetch hood pins on this one. Not much for superdetailing. I did redo the rollbar on this one. I also broke the sidewindow so I cut them down and just used the quarter windows. This is the one I got all rebuilt. What do you think? P.S. I'm building the other kit into a 70 Sox & Martin Cuda.
  22. The interior gets no love!! At least that is what I see. I have done a few really nice interiors and nobody looks in there unless it is pointed out. If it is a convertible then it gets noticed. The paintjob stands out first and then the engine.
  23. It was mentioned on the show Gearz that Revell will kit his 32 Rat Roadster!
  24. Nicely done!!
  25. Mike, thats funny but I have a few hundred projects of my own. Jeff said it best. "Model builders are very optomisitic people, We have hundreds of projects in waiting and know that they take us a few months to do on average. We know we can't build them all but we don't stop trying!"
