Like the idea of some weathering instead of having that just finished look. However weather just to the level of normal wear and tear becuase you want the slightly used look not abused look. Is the theme still a man cave as that makes a difference in how much weathering should be done. Keep up the good work.

Personally I would use evergreen and make your own.

I remember an article Gregg did in the magazine about fixing fish eyes. Spray some of the clear into a container and use a brush to fix in the craters. Let that dry thoughly dry and then wetsand. Repeat if necessary. Then try polishing that out. Might be able to save it this way.

You will want to assemble all the parts for the engine that are painted the same color and then paint. Any glue that works by melting the plastic will not work properly if there is paint on the surface. Brush painting is fine for small parts. Paint type can be either enamel or acrylic.
