  1. Harry you're right. However somebody could also pay to have somebody build a model for them and then say its theirs. If somebody is going to cheat then there isn't much that can be done.
  2. Great start. I'm watching this one. Looks like a great way to learn some new techiques. bobthehobbyguy
  3. Thanks. However my question is what do you use to fish mouth the tubing. When you join a tube to another tube you have to have to make the tubing being joined concave on the end for a good joint. Do you use a file or your dremel for doing this. Bobthehobbyguy
  4. Thanks for the answer . . I'm curious how to you fishmouth type tubing when you build your chassis? Bobthehobbyguy
  5. Another killer build. Are you working from plans for the chassis? Please share your secret on how you can build so fast. The chassis would take me weeks or months to complete and you do it in days? I would like to try some of your tricks for my future builds. Bobthehobbyguy
  6. Never mind the parts gremlin put it back on my bench this morning. Know it wasn't there yesterday. LOL I'm gonna catch him one of these days. bobthehobbyguy
  7. Hey I'm putting together an Eldon Milk Truck I started a number of years back. Somewhere along the line I lost one of the interior parts. The part I need some info about is part 7( Front Pad- it is inside panel for the firewall). Can anyone tell me is it done with a button tuffed pattern like the side panels(parts 2 and 4)? Thanks, Bobthehobbyguy
  8. What are you using for reference for doing the detail? Bobthehobbyguy
  9. Any more progress I am enjoying this build and am looking forward to seeing more. I have a jungle jim kit and I've seen some ideas to help me build mine. Bobthehobbyguy
  10. Looks good. How about some chassis shots. Bobthehobbyguy
  11. Very nice celan builds. How long did it take you build the three? Bobthehobbyguy
  12. Like the mustang. For the pickup I like the front wheels in the first and third pictures. bobthehobbyguy
  13. What a fantastic model. I just looked to see when you started posting this and the first post was April 4 , 2011. I can't believe you built this in under 2 months!! Again this is a very impressive model and I have enjoyed following the build in progress. I've learned a lot from watching this build. Bobthehobbyguy
  14. Not sure that it's worth that price though, I don't that its really that rare and who'd want to spend that much and then build it. Monogram did a release double kit several years ago of both of the funny cars. I'm sure those are going for a more reasonable price. Bobthehobbyguy
  15. John, Great job on the pinstriping. How did you do the rivets on the paint job? Thanks Bobthehobbyguy
  16. What a great model. Love the paint. Lookiing forward to seeing the finishing touches on this one. bobthehobbyguy
  17. This is a neat project. I think your choice not to add flames is a good one. From what I can see the red metallic is a good choice as it it. bobthehobbyguy
  18. Great job. Here is my 2 cents worth on the chassis weathering. My understanding is that there is one school of thought is that you don't paint or powder coat these chassis so you can see if any of the welds are cracking. I think that that is one of the reasons why the top fuel chassis aren't being painted. Can't wait to see this finished. Looking forward to seeing at one of the shows. This is going to be another winner. Bobthehobbyguy
  19. Well my feelings about any magazine is voting with my wallet. I don't subscribe unless I save a lot of money, by buying off the newsstand I can decide what I want. If an issue of a magazine doesn't have enough content to justify buying it I don't. If enough people do that then the magazines will know what sells and what doesn't. I have seen other magazines do a lot of diecast and have to back off the subject. My problem with diecast is that because of the process the parts aren't in scale such as the gaps around the doors when they open. Also in most cases the cost is such that I really wouldn't want to cut it up. My preference is to build a plastic kit. bobthehobbyguy
  20. Very impressive. Learned a lot watching this build, you have excellent building skills. I am impressed with the quality and quanity of your builds. Bobthehobbyguy
  21. I've done the black force and the street fury. Great way to do some airbrush painting practice and easy to assemble. A fun quick project. bobthehobbyguy
  22. For all of you who might be interested I asked Revell for a claification of the rues. Here is the reply I got. In the box stock class, can not modify the parts. Only things allowed are paint, chrome foil and flocking. Also body filler for seams. On the unlimited, you can modify any of the parts. Rick Haas Revell
  23. The other question for somebody on the judging panel is what is the Revell definiton for hot rod. I'm a little confused when they say the theme is hot rod but the have a 1949 Mercury and 1958 thunderbird on the list of kits. In my mind those are customs and not hot rods. Bobthehobbyguy
  24. Well I'm just happy there is going to be a contest that I don't have to travel to go to. It's cheaper to buy another kit than the cost of travel and a hotel. Also I'm hoping that if this contest is a success that there will be more in the future. Bobthehobbyguy
  25. Revell now has the contest info on its website. revell Contest
