  13. Looks good. Any thoughts on what color you are going to paint it? Bobthehobbyguy
  14. As far was when to glue. The best is to assemble all of the parts that are the same color or parts that have seams but don't have those seams on the real part. For example and engine block and the heads. I use Alene's Tacky glue for test assembly. Also I'd suggest that when you have assembles that have to be glued after painting to mask the area. Say a hole for a locating pin. I use a little bit of white glue to do this. After the paint is dry you can use the tip of an knife blade to remove it. This also reduces having to handle the parts too much after they have been painted. Hope this helps. bobthehobbyguy
  15. Dann, Very nice job on your Corvette. To me the whole point of the box stock class is to allow all to compete on a level playing field. You can only what is in the box , paint and glue and sometime bare metal foil. It comes down to how well you can paint and assemble the model. Doing a very clean build of a box stock model can be a real test of one's skills. bobthehobbyguy
  16. Thanks to all for all of the feedback. I feel that was question has been answered. bobthehobbyguy
  17. Thanks for all of the feedback. The reason why I am asking is the gearz model contest the theme is muscle cars. However on of the kits in the list has a blower sticking out of the hood which is why I've asked the question. Thanks again. Bobthehobbyguy

  21. Thanks for posting your pictures. I just got back from the event myself and it was great as always. You are right about how much work it is making everything work. When I lived in Santa Clara I was involved with helping with the event. We were told by the convention center that they were very impressed with how organized we were running the event. Given that they dealt with events that were run by people that it was there living to do shows made us feel very good. Not bad considering this was an alll volunteer group. bobthehobby
  22. It will be a pleasure to see it in its present state. Wouldn't want you to rush painting it just for the show. Are you coming in Friday or Sat? Friday has pizza 6 to 9. bobthehobbyguy
