  1. Is this a 1/24th or 1/25th scale kit? The box says 1/24th but quite a few of the parts are 1/25th scale. Built this kit when it first came out. Great source of hot rod parts.
  2. Engine wiring looks very convincing. Great green for a gasser.
  3. This is one of my favorite kits! These were out when I was a kid.
  4. Following your scratch building on the rear hub and wheelie bars helped build here. Thanks
  5. Most inspiring work I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing
  6. We spray the ends of a stack of them with gray spray paint. Labels are made indicating the contents. Boxes are then shelved together providing easy content access for kitbashing.
  7. I'm working on the same AMT kit for a friend. Would you happen to know which engine is in the kit?

Looks just like a barn find. Nice!
  9. Parts from this kit have probably migrated into more builds than all of the Fords and Chevys combined.
  10. Unfilled depressions on the sides of the frame adjacent to motor mounts. Chunk of tire missing from the tread edge where it was connected to tire "tree". Cure the putty.
  11. Thanks for sharing the side by sides.
  12. Look for the Monogram 1934 three-window chopped top kit. Get lots of long fingered clamps and some good plastic cement. Try attaching small pieces of brass sheet to help support the door tops and door sides.
  13. If you don't mind me asking what kind of putty did you use on that seam running down the top of the hood scoop?
  14. Recently built the blue plastic AMT #636 (2013) Nova Pro Street. Used Easy Off on quite a bit of the chrome because there were a few flaws in the plating; small portions of the plating were missing from the inside of the rear wheel hubs while some plating was very thick and obscured part details. Rear taillight demarcation is clean and crisp. Break out your favorite primer and this kit will not disappoint. Great source of hot rod parts!
  15. Is this the Revell '56 Ford (currently issued as Ed Roth) 1/25th scale pickup (1995) or the Monogram '55 Ford 1/24th scale pickup (1994)? Both kits are here on the work bench, the '56 has separate doors and liners, the '55 has better quality of molding. The '55 seems to be a harder styrene than the '56.
  16. Is it true? The optional V8 is an early Hemi...does anyone know which one?
  17. Thanks for your help making this work. I've been out of the loop for a few years...
  18. Recently grandpa began enjoying a second childhood. It seems he is interested in building and painting T-buckets and trucks. The scale he is working in is 1/24th and the smaller 1/25th. Info on a group of builders would be appreciated. Thanks.
  19. Some of the artwork on the boxes really brings back a lot of memories.
  20. Building and refinishing furniture, researching in order to restore architectural details on older residences, collect and use local cookbooks from travels, photo and videography. Do my two grandchildren count?
  21. Have combined boxes of the same kits to free up shelf space for more. I swore after the first of the year I would stop purchasing kits but keep adding to the parts box for projects down the road. Every car or truck on the work bench has some kit bashing. I'll keep buying them for the parts. Headers, valve covers, frames, wheels, tires, blowers, radiators-you get the idea...
