  1. The Raptor has been in the planning stages since at least 3Q last year. There already is a diecast 1/24 Raptor, so one issue Revell was considering is if there would be enough interest. The ZL1 also has been in development for a while and will supposedly have the correct engine. They're still trying to work out the C7 vettes with GM.
  2. The only one I know for sure is Scale Motorsports... http://store.scalemotorsport.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SM&Product_Code=1970&Category_Code=3 There may be others, but Matt's "stuff" is excellent I just posted the same thing
  3. Right on. The dealer had to order from the parts department as it was one of the order sheet Z28 options. The dealer I bought mine from just added it to the overall order price. 1969 was when it became an order option. My dealer installed the manifold, carbs, headers and cold air plenum 30 days after delivery to be sure there were no other issues and the headers were shipped a week and a half late. The nice thing is that it was under warranty as long as you didn't race it. Sorry, couldn't find ay engine pix:
  4. Thanks as well. Saved me from opening up a lot of boxes to check. Both Vettes and Camaros.
  5. Man you are quick. I just went downstairs to check my Chevy kits to try and confirm.
  6. You have to get the Revell 69 Z28 for the cross ram. Then you have to worry about air cleaner. I had a real 68 Z28 with the cross ram (real bad for street in cold weather as heat risers were blocked plus manual chokes). I am combining a Revell 69 with the AMT 68 to replicate my Z, and will have to scratch build the plenum air intake. Sad to say, I had that Z about 17 months before it was stolen and totaled when Police chased the thief a day later.
  7. I agree with that. That is the closest they appear to be.
  8. Revell indicated a couple of months back that they have yet to get detail specs on the Corvette. Without them, a glue kit is real tough. The HANG UP was GM and they, Revell, were not happy given that they had paid the licensing fees.
  9. Search this site, they are already posted!
  10. There is a transkit available for the Fujimi 458 (but can be adapted for the Revell) available from EightyOne http://www.eightyone81.com/category/products/transkit/ But it is $88 US including shipping.
  11. Received from Shapeway's. What a high end 3d printer can do with the work of a talented designer in our club. This full detail set (2 per) is not cheap, but add that to your 4x4 with the Revell snow plow and a few add ons!
  12. If you select desktop mode in Win 8 it will look like Win 7. I have my new Win 8.1 laptop tied to a second HDMI monitor. My laptop is touch screen, the HDMI is not. I flip back and forth on the laptop because I like some of the win 8 apps. I use the desktop for browser (HDMI is 24 inch monitor) Corel Draw, Office 2010, etc. If you upgrade, you may have peripherals, like printers and scanners, that may no longer work as the vendors are not providing driver updates.
  13. Model Cars Magazine issue number 184 in pristine condition from the USPS
  14. Those look like the one on the Revell 2006 Mustang GT500KR kit?
  15. If the RoG LaFerrari is like their previous Enzo kit, it will build into a decent representation with less opening parts but less finicky. I too have the Tamiya version, but I think there is likely room for both. For what its worth, the last Revell Enzo, the SNAP kit, was a big seller for them (per an interview I did with them last year just before IHOBBY). I wish RoG would also do a F12 Berlinetta, but was told that will not happen as Fujimi has cornered that. Their is still a chance for 458 variants, though.
  16. This weekend there is the contest at the Portland Roadster Show. If you are on Facebook, look up S.A.B.A., their normal website went down, but they do have a Facebook page. "The Bob Paeth Portland Classic Model Car Contest is March 14-16 in conjunction with the Portland Roadster Show. You can bring your models to enter on Thursday March 13th or any day that the Roadster Show is open. We will be on site Thursd...ay the 13th from noon until 9pm. The cost of entry is $5 to help offset the cost of awards. The Best of the Best is a separate contest held during the Portland Classic. To enter the "BoB" show your build must have won a class or been judged one of the Best of at any show. Entry again is $5. The Portland Roadster Show will be held at the Portland Expo Center located at 2600 N Marine Drive." 17. I have one on my Windows 8.1. Connected via HDMI, the 24 inch monitor is also connected to my sound system. I use this as an additional monitor and display stuff I want larger and keep other things, like email on the laptop screen. The larger monitor does not have touch screen whereas my laptop does. How difficult depends on operating system you have and whether you want single or dual mode. My older Vista laptop was linked up to the same monitor until I got the new PC, and it acted as a single (replacement) screen. HTH
  18. I believe Garage Scenes did do it as well. I ay actually have one in the stash, but will have to check. I've sold/traded off several items as I don't want to move them again and am aghast at the amount of stuff I already have that needs to be built!
  19. In my opinion only, either the Fujimi or Italeri 250 GTO's are the best. Remember that each of the 36 cars were hand built and there were differences. The Protar (now offered by Revell of Germany) is good except that the rear end is too squared off, and the upper door frames too thick, and (if Revell keep the Protar versions) undersized wheel/tires. I excluded the Model Factory Hiro kit due to cost and the old Gunze kit due to rarity and it having some problems as well. I have all the 250 GTO that were interesting to me, so I can compare.
  20. The story I have heard multiple times is that Aurora was originally planning a 250 GT and when the GTO arrived (the real one, not Pontiac's ) they converted the body. One thing it had going for it was opening everything. The engine is a reasonable example, in styrene, of the Colombo V12 and the chassis is not bad either.
  21. I got there about ten minutes after they opened. It filled up closer to noon and many were still arriving when I left about 1:00 PM.
