I was looking at the very same 55 Chevy a few weeks ago and was thinking that it was a cool concept that would be fun with just about any 50's car. You're off to a great start so it will be fun to watch your progress. I may try one myself one day. I think Jesse is right about extending the chassis in front of the rear wheels to put the passenger compartment in the right place. Take your time and it will turn out great!!!????????

Your real Camaro is gorgeous, Mark, and the model is getting there as well!!! Great thread and thank you for sharing your skills and ideas and processes with us. I, for one will put some of your build techniques into future models that I build!!!????????

I'm kind of late to the party but thoroughly enjoyed this thread. Thanks, Tim, for your in depth review of the kit and a huge Kudo's to Revell and all involved in this and the 29 roadster for such excellent kits. I appreciate all the insight all of you guys here on the forum have brought to light. I'm going to build mine with a few tweaks here and there and build it my way. I'm not going to overhaul the kit because it'll be great anyway. We now have several modern rods to choose from and we are blessed even with the nits. We are truly in the golden age of modeling and I'm loving it!!! It's all good, fella's!!!! I hope everyone enjoys this kit kit as much as I am, no matter how you build it!!!????????

Very well done!!!????????

You're off to a great start, Jason!!! The black paint looks great and the heat that the body was in should serve to cure the paint much like a dehydrator does. The seats are looking great as well. What a major improvement over the kit decals. Can't wait to see more!!!????????

Building Better Shocks for the Revell '29 Ford Roadster
geewhiz replied to Quick GMC's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Thanks for the great tutorial, Cameron! I found some .032 50/50 solid solder at my local True Value hardware store. This solder is used for soldering electrical wires and may be available at Radio Shack as well. ????????- 21 replies

This is one mean looking Charger!!! I love the changes you have made, Richard!!! Are the tires resin or are they from a kit??? I really like them as well as the wheels with the dog dish hub caps!!! The tires, wheels, stance, and all black really make this a car to reckon with!!! Very cool so far!!!????????

You're doing a great build of a mediocre at best kit!!! Looks like you've not lost your skills and know how. Unfortunately, the sight and shaking issues are a casualty of our age (yeah, that's my stuff, too)...you'll learn to compensate as you go with more light, magnifiers, etc. and working slower than normal. The goal hasn't changed, just have fun and build for yourself. You only have to make you happy because it is still a fun, stress reducing hobby.????????

Very nice, clean work, especially the side trim!!! Gonna be a gorgeous 57!!!???????

Changes at Model Cars Magazine
geewhiz replied to Gregg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm very happy that you're doing so well!!! Looks like I might just have to get myself a subscription instead of hoping it's not sold out when I get to the city to visit the hobby shop. Looks like everything is on track. Thanks to you, Gregg, and all the other fine folks who make this endeavor possible!!! Unfortunately, some do not grasp the complexity of what you're dealing with!!! The mag and forum exude excellence!!!???????
