Whitewall decals on vinyl tires
GMP440 replied to Oldcarfan27's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I used to use the decals. It was tedious. Stopped using the decals and just bought tires that have the whitewalls. Modelhaus is still in business, but they only sell tires. They have a very nice selection of whitewall tires. -

In all likelyhood, this probably will come out in the future. Round 2 already has the AWB Nova, the trailer and soon to be released 63 Chevy II wagon is on the way.- 599 replies

I agree. I think a lot of more surprises are on the way. Round 2 is even fixing and modified old tooling. Lot of people have stated that this tooling and that tooling are gone forever. Looks like in some instances they have been wrong. -

Right on. Finally, Round 2 is starting to get kits out that have not been seen in over 50 years. People are still complaining. I bet if you gave each complainer a million dollars they still would complain.- 599 replies

Jay Leno and the Hemi Under Glass
GMP440 replied to SCRWDRVR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
First of all ; if I was in Riggles shoes and I identified safety issues, then he had a choice to tell the crew no until we safety the area or find another location. This is sometimes a problem within the production industry. Always in a hurry to get something in the can by deadline. The occupants in the Hemi Under Glass were lucky they walked away. Could have been far worse. -
Yes. On the real car, that part of the door area under the door handle has the sunken area. I own a real 1968 Coronet 440. That is the correct shape of the door. This is on all 68-70 Coronet doors. Also, these doors are the same as 68-70 Belvedere, Satellite, Roadrunner, GTX. You can swap doors from the Dodge and Plymouth 68-70 B-body cars.

That's the way I am building mine. Doing this one as a base Camaro. Will use the 350 that's in the kit, 4 speed trans; both which were available on the base Camaro. Also will use the spoiler too. Not sure if you could get a rear spoiler on a 1970 base Camaro. Maybe use white wall or black wall tires. Will use the wheels that have the square holes and stock air cleaner from the AMT 72 Nova kit.

Within the last 10 years Round 2 released the Funny Farmer 63 Tempest AWB car. How was this released? Is it an all new kit or was the original AMT 63 Tempest tooling modified to do the current AWB car?
-
Where did you buy the wall cases?
-
I agree. I hope they do this kit in 1/25 scale. Most of the kits that Revell has done in the last 10 or so years has been 1/25 scale. It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall at Revell to see what other American car subjects they have in developement. The good thing is we are being heard and from the looks of it they are marketing towards the adult builder.
-
The very last sentence says it all. Very true. You hit the nail on the head. Wanted to add ; those that bash a kit company for a certain part of a kit not being accurate, I say to those people, don't buy the kit. Not everything is perfect in this world. Things are not 100% . Sometimes we have to let things go. It's just a hobby and that's all it well ever be.
-
I have an AMT 63 Tempest builtup as well. I'm looking for the same parts as you; the right headlight bezel and stock tail light panel.
-
Moebius seems to be doing pretty good with the truck kits. I think it's time for Moebius to get into releasing more car kit. Prostocks would be great start. Would love to see that Maverick come out. A 71 Dodge Demon would be very welcome as well.
-
Well, in short; if there is a model car subject announced for release or being developed there still will be those that will find something to complain about or nit pick . That's the way the world is. As one of the board members here eloquently illustrated; it's like a record player, round and round, here we go.

The Grumpy kit has been a great seller. Just heard it's been sold out already. But, more are being produced.

Out in bulk pickup.

Then, get rid of the old one.
