  1. Humidity causes crazing. I don't have this issue because I spray indoors with a spray booth. Are you spraying outside? Sometimes it's good to test sprays so that you can see early in the process if you will have any problems.
  2. That looks like the primer is crazing. I've never had that happen with any of the Duplicolor primers. I've used both the sandable primer and filler primer without any incident. What was the temp and humidity when you sprayed the body? My method is to start with the regular primer; if their any pin holes or anything, fill those and then use the filler primer. How was the body prepped? Was it scuffed first before priming?
  3. "but most importantly, have some real, Market Tested Numbers to justify the sales potential of this, or ANY other subject that you care to present." The above statement was taken from a posting about Atlantis Models. Do model kit companies do markets tests to see sales potential of a kit they are considering developing? If so, how do they go about it? I see Moebius doing prototype models. This is probably how they test the market. I can't see the model companies doing some sort of tooling to do a limited number to judge sales, it be too cost prohibitive. Maybe someone in the know could answer this.
  4. Tom, thank you for making that more clear.
  5. Ultimately yes. But, what market are they focusing on?
  6. My bad. I actually said it wrong. What I meant to say was asking if Atlantis was focusing on those that buy kits at Walmart or any other large box retailer versus focusing on more nostaligic subjects for us more dedicated model builders.
  7. Wanted to ask if Atlantis is coming out with subject matter tailoring the Walmart builder or to us builders? What market are they trying to target?
  8. Moebius has done pretty good with the Ford trucks. I would think that releasing any 68-73 Dodge truck would sell just as well. Someone mentioned the Dude Dodge truck. I'm in.
  9. I remember back in the 70's we had kits of the Husquevarna motocross bike, Roger Decoster Suzuki kit, Yamaha 250 dirt bike and others. Is Revell planning on re-issuing these again?
  10. Is Moebius coming out with any new car models next year? I remember the pics of the prototype 63 or 64 Nova drag awb car, but are there any plans for any other future car model subjects?
  11. This is excellant. Round 2, kudos to you and a big thanks in redoing and updating this kit. Even retooling the body. The drag racing builders will be in line for this one.
  12. Ok. Thanks for your input.
  13. What about the molds to the MPC 68 and 69 Coronet R/T kits? There was some talk that the tooling was modified to do the MPC 70 Coronet annual. In all honesty , I think that was just merely speculation. A few years back Round 2 was looking to release the 68 and 69 Coronets. Based on that, Round 2 must have found the tooling for those. I wonder if someone in the know could verify this. Maybe some one has first hand knowledge on this?
  14. Looks like this will be a good kit to get. A good candidate to do Type LT Camaro or a base model Camaro. Excellant job Round 2. This kit should sell well.
  15. That's correct. The price stated above; $6.99-$8.99 is pretty typical with lots of other publications out there.
  16. Accurate or not . Whatever Round 2 found and determine the parts they need, correct or not correct to do the release of this kit, my hats off to them.
  17. NIce job. Will you be casting this in resin?
  18. Hello, Just got a confirmation from Round 2 about the 72 Chevy wedge kit. The kit will have a 72 truck and wedge. Hi George, Yes, complete kit. The ’72 Chevy Pickup can be built with either the racing wedge body or a factory stock fleetside body.
  19. Wouldn't that be something if one of the subjects announced to be released was in fact a 68 Coronet R/T kit.
  20. Love this response. I think its the only response on this topic that makes sense and speaks the truth.
  21. No loss here. There are much better paints out there than Testors Model Master.
  22. I agree. The body looks good. Can you tell us the steps that it took for you to make the body modifications to get the quarter panels looking correct?
  23. Was Ron Merkel the owner of The Merkel Model Car Company back in the 90's? I remember I used to see their ad in the issues of Scale Auto back then.
  24. Does anyone know if the 72 Chevy Racers Wedge kit will be the kit that will have the pick up truck and the wedge like it used to be back in the 70's. Seem so to be some confusion on this. Thanks.
