  1. escort resin has guns in the dioramic (sic) section.
  2. their website has an order form, so I think you can go direct. if you want touchy-feely, might have to visit a fairly good sized model show vendors section.
  3. I think there's enough going on in You-Tube-Land this should be a sticky.
  4. I've heard bad stories about mail to & from Canada, but I ordered a kit from Full Circle Hobbies in Quebec on sunday, and it's in my hot little hands on Thursday (1956 Gunze Sangyo Volkswagen).
  5. a tenet of diorama building. tell a story and make it believable
  6. sounds like HE is the one that needs help. maybe dementia or other uncontrollable stuff going on in his head. and stop smoking fer crissakes; that's not helping anyone.
  7. you had to be there .... somebody wanted a link to making water spray (youtube : spraying elephant - this board doesn't let me clip & paste). then I got to thinking about stuff from the model railroad corner of the hobby room and before you know - BAM - another thread destined to fade into oblivion ...
  8. but why the h*ll does he end every statement with that fake laugh? I thought it was just him until I watched a utube video of car crazy with the McGuire guy. he needs to get new set of good fitting choppers and lose the howdy doody arm motions.
  9. looks good. folks sometimes underestimate the value of a heavy vise until they get the habit to use one. nice mount so long stuff can go to the floor (I've seen them mounted square in the middle of the bench, which may be good for single purpose, but not too versatile). hope there's a file card & block of chalk stashed in that drawer if you're doing a lot of aluminum work.
  10. Youtube: "scalemodeling channel" for some good poop
  11. farts are magical. they're like snowflakes: all different, yet even in a crowded elevator, there's a distinctive knowledge of what just happened. I like to think of it as one of those special moments in the day, not to dwell upon, but just to take pause why we're really here.
  12. you could have waited until he turned around and gotten the old "five-fingered discount", too. I think you did the right thing.
  13. AMT kits contain the parts to build the box art. Jalopy - no bueno ...
  14. for some it's a hobby theme. like Busted Knuckle Garage posters in your den. you could still probably enjoy the afternoon at Lions or Pomona.
  15. will those dollar calculators figure tips in the restaurant? I like to be generous and leave 5%
  16. Hobby Lobby has had it up since august; gotta be ready!
  17. the little metal hood hinge seals the deal for me!
  18. I have worked with a number of people from my parents' generation that have had a job long enough to pull a pension and then have gotten another job. now, I think once employees figured out they were expendable, the idea of looking for another job starting on day one of your present job has become the norm. I believe the average job changes in a person's work span, say 20 to 64, is 7. some companies do not value "tree-huggers". there has to be a happy medium. I've never been happy with a job I've had more than 4 years.
  19. "hopped - up" ???
  20. i'll take (2) please!
  21. yes!!! I thought this was the thread about having the paint bleed or tear up when the tape was removed. (up from my nap, now - a lot of things look different)
  22. good utube entitled "the G...D... hippies were right". pretty much validates their values and how many of them came to be part of today's society without the longhairs getting credit - just big businesses. always contended that reefer wouldn't be legal until it could be taxed like alcohol.
  23. there's a fellow on You-Tube named Hunter Selby. he just did a great tutorial how to get clean separation lines - and used a rattle can to prove it could be done. well worth the ten minute watch.
