  1. and we've come full circle. those guys are walking away with about 12$ an hour - clear. who (employee) the heck is going to work for that?
  2. I think there should be a poll. in light of the recent deaths among Hollywood's elite, we could vote which member of the Forum will head explode first.
  3. everybody is worth what they charge, and everybody else charges too much. you're taking heartbeats out of someone's life regardless of the service they're providing. can someone sell you an extra day, week, month, of time to tack on the end? and how much are you willing to pay? and as far as landscaping, be it pulling weeds or pushing a mower, how many folks would do it year in and out? talk the talk, then walk the walk. just be careful stepping around the bs, 'cause there's plenty of it.
  4. and send multiple hard copies of your complaint to different parties so it can't be quashed by one who doesn't want to deal with the problem. "cc" on the bottom so everybody knows, everybody knows. yes?
  5. methinks you missed Tom's point. I trust you're not squeezing the grinder with your cheeks....?
  6. I think you're on to something. there was a time when modelers used their imagination and didn't have the "shake-the-box" approach we've come to expect as the norm. whattayamean I have to trim flash? eewww!!!
  7. I miss Crazygirl
  8. tossing out the efficiency factor, at 45$ an hour, how many hours do we want to pay our landscaper to do the same task? makes as much sense as paying our contractor to build the house using a handsaw. maybe the "nut" has a leaf hobby? probably a blessing he doesn't work on tuners for the neighborhood kids - then there'd be some complaints! I have a feeling the neighbor wears white sneakers with Velcro closures and his wife plays bridge.
  9. growing - by leaps & bounds. just a few minutes internet searching will net a sophisticated lot of kits & parts that have never been offered. technology is on our side. we don't have everything we want (think pre 58 VW bug!) but we can get Eztel Classics, which are being reissued. and a bunch of other great stuff. what's to complain about? oh yeah, I know: "there's flash on my kit". c'mon.
  10. I'm irked by my lack of tolerance for fellow man.
  11. I use a 2 mm bead and set it at about 10:oo o'clock.
  12. hard to know who to bash anymore.
  13. remember Burt Munro's lemon tree?
  14. I think most modelers who have 3 or 4 types of adhesive on the bench already will have something suitable without spending another fiver on a dedicated type.
  15. put the adhesive on the light bucket, then set the lens into it. that way, most if any excess adhesive goes into the bucket instead of on its outside or the lens.
  16. what PatW said. front axle body color?
  17. it's a level 2 kit; requires glue & paint.
  18. I prefer to think of it as "shipfitter's disease". not a bad affliction, but one with which must be dealt.
  19. I get it ... thanks
  20. comp - are those numbers decimals, millimeters, number wire? or did I miss something?
