  1. Erik, were you using solvent based paints & cleaners? I have hope acrylics will make things last a bit longer.

  3. maybe a Willys pickup cab and 40 ford fenders? I honestly think if you got the grille, headlights, & hood close, no one would bust your chops about the rest of the body. well .... except here. but that's only because you asked. if you had just cobbled something together with the disclaimer "here's my interpretation of.." there would have been plenty of Ooohs & Aaahs even if it was full of sink marks, mold lines, and cat fur in the paint.

  14. yeah; bodyshop work is almost as much fun as welding & grinding
  15. some guys use medical tape and paint it. some guys use ribbon from the craft store. some guys make tuck 'n' roll with flat styrene strips. or "gymp" if you're really old school. some guys use flocking. some "Obsessive" guys use wire or round styrene rods to add piping. decals can be had from Scalemotorsport if you want high tech patterns.

  17. was there any difficulty getting the decals to bond where the oil paint was under ? and - two part question - where the panel decals were small, how did you duplicate their grain (and base color) ? end result is quite stunning
