  5. wonder if this gadget would work if modified? http://www.dickblick.com/products/amaco-pasta-machine/
  6. this company http://www.vectorcut.com/ makes photo etched style details from a paper which is much like stencil board (everybody remembers stencils, right?). if you could do some sleuthing and find out their source, I think your troubles will be over.
  7. http://www.enginehouseservices.com/products/The-Bender-_-NORTHWEST-SHORT-LINE.html http://webspace.webring.com/people/ib/budb3/arts/meth/bndrl.html http://shop.osorail.com/product.sc?productId=285

  9. health before hobbies - for both of you! good luck
  10. very cool gadget. is it only for the parts you mentioned? there's other, more moderately costed, ways to do it. http://www.scalemodelguide.com/construction/techniques/photo-etched-parts-models/ http://www.italianhorses.net/Tutorials/Photoetch/pe.htm http://thesmallshop.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=3
  11. perhaps more in the emotional sense than the technical, I vote a resounding "Yes!" a lot of them are showcased here: http://www.themodelcarmuseum.org/index.html
  12. following this logic, who was the architect for these diagrams http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=76132&hl= I would love to get a drafting program - without the cost of AutoCAD software - that could do this. or did I overlook something? dave, still with us?
  13. i think this touches on the leagal issue, which is exactly Not what my original question was. how much "moral obligation" do i have to reveal the originator of something i post. for example, i see a great looking '32 Ford model. i post a picture, even with out caption or text. some might assume i actually built the model. i didn't say i did or did not. the question becomes: is that fair? and specifically, to the person who did build it?
  14. I think that's a fair understanding of 'rhetorical'
  15. if something is copyrighted, the originator took the trouble to do so to protect it. if he did not copyright it, does that give me free rein to present it and give implication it's my work? I think the declination of true North has changed over time, and things once never considered acceptable have come to be commonplace. we have become immune, and I really don't think that's a positive.
  16. don't think that radiator cap slipped by unnoticed!
  17. i'm talking in generality bull. "painting with a broad brush" is a nice metaphor. usually if I have something to say, I will.
  18. I think there's a local drag racing "little pages" currently being printed from central Connecticut and covering the traditional new England scene.
  19. if I post something - picture, quotation, drawing, whatever, is there some bearing on the moral compass indicating I should credit the creator? not a copyright issue, but just common courtesy. maybe it's a rhetorical question. I have to wonder. . . . .
  20. I think people lacking some computer literacy are placing themselves at a disadvantage.
  21. I cannot imagine that to be any easy task. great looking model!
  22. you might like NYC 22 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1825122/
  23. http://www.t-waysgraphics.com/ http://www.t-waysgraphics.com/DecalsNavigation.htm website indicates they can be made any size. sounds expensive to me!
