  1. if there is, I doubt it's as clearly organized! thanks
  2. came out great
  3. thanks for the link to the final result
  4. that folks will pay 35$ a year for a mailing which is substantially advertising. that's what magazines are. of the 7 or 8 (yes, here too) of which I subscribe, the Rodder's Journal is the only one which tucks the few ads into one concise space. but there is usually a 'feature article' about one of the advertisers, so it's a wash. and 17 bucks an issue. that folks with a fervid enthusiasm for "the Forum" are reluctant to contribute financially for its continuance. (see poll results - the NOs are gaining on the Yeses) and if that does come to pass, I predict a portion of the Yeses will not make good their vote. that even when asked "please" & "thanks", not one of the 11,000+ members could reach over and count the pages in their copy of MCM that don't have some advertising. that if the Forum was not a direct benefit to the magazine, it would not be here. that's all.
  5. how did this end up?
  6. and don't you have me on "ignore"? i'd hate to think I've been despondent lo these many days for no reason at all.
  7. planning, too. I mail order stuff to save money rather than jump in the truck and drive 50 miles round trip to the lhs. just have to figure what i'm going to need next week and order it up!
  8. if anyone has their latest copy of MCM, please count how many pages do not have advertisements. and then the total number of pages. include cover, back cover, and insides of both. thanks.
  9. if you don't tick someone off from time to time, you're not trying hard enough. think about it.
  10. ads are okay - just keep them hobby related. maybe that means sidebar ads instead of pop ups. I assume that enables the marketing department to have some decision in which companies to sell space. when I go to a site with ads pertaining to the subject, quite often i'll visit the advertiser's site.
  11. fingernail clippers & emery board. everything else is optional. need a hole? heat a pin over the burner on the kitchen stove. don't let lack of money keep you out of the hobby. build to your budget and improve your skills. you can always go back to the original models and improve them. look at some of the great work done by the guys on the forum who practically specialize in buying "glue bombs" from ebay. they crank out some fantastic models. the hobby isn't about how much you spend, but how you utilize it.
  12. "paying" will create more problems than benefits. for example, if I get a warning point for a controversial post, can I send in money to pay off the fine? or if I am banned due to reaching my quota of warning points, do I get the unused portion of my forum payment returned?
  13. these pop up ads have got to be stopped
  14. bro, why do you hate the Nightrider?
  15. if it does come to pass, i'd like to see how many of the "yes" men actually cough up the dough. sort of the same as " i'm going to subscribe when .... "
  16. I thought you had me ignored
  17. will it stay here or get moved elsewhere? I want to bookmark it.
  18. I guess I should have taken a foreign language instead of drafting.....
  19. but if you own the highway, you can choose the billboarder. or billboardette.
