  1. I reckon this is cool.
  2. Amazing work as always Virgil.
  3. Very nice build Erik. Top job on the body work, smooth as.
  4. Hey Virgil, Count me in, as I think this will help get me out of a building slump im in. I will be building a Revell 62 Impala pretty much box stock. Only thing is il be a day ahead of you guys.So il be starting tomorrow.
  5. The amount and quality of the detail work on that engine is insane.
  6. Hey Mike, Good to see you post one of your builds. The bike looks excellent from where im sitting, very clean build. Last pic gives the illusion of realism for sure.
  7. Good work on both builds mate.
  8. Im dropping out of this CBP. Lost interest in building the Torino,so its back in the box.
  9. No offence taken Harry, I realise you are just trying to point out that lighting is the most important aspect of shooting quality pics.
  10. Here is a basic table top set up I use. Just a large piece of white poster board and few A4 sheets.
  11. Another excellent combo.Nice work
  12. Excellent combo, very well thought out and cleanly built. Skeleton on the chopper is way cool
  13. Not my build, but thought it might relate to the topic. This model was built by Haz on TPB forum.
  14. Thanks for the comments about my pics Tony and Gregg I think it would still work Virgil. Experimentation is the go. Thanks Rob.Hope too see your results soon from trying out reflective style pics. I mostly have the exposure set to auto, but ocassionally i go manual and set it to ISO 100 or 200. Too much exposure can affect the amount and depth of the reflection.
  15. Marcus your builds are very inspirational and high qaulity, they would look exceptional shot reflective style. Here is a couple more I found on AF forum the builder is soono87 I presume the model is sitting on glass
  16. Thankyou very much Dave. The night shot sounds like a very cool idea,It would be challenging but worth a try for sure. I have thought about trying to take pics using the light of a full moon.
  17. My guess would be that it doesnt really need to be a glass surface as long as the suface is very smooth, highly reflective and clean,It should still work. Main thing is to move the model and camera around to find the angle and postion to capture the reflection.
  18. I think that was Pat Covert he built a 62 belair and named it bubbles.
  19. Seeing pics in 1:1 mags is kinda where I got the idea to try it.
  20. Its in my back yard. The main tip is to make sure the water isnt to deep. I have seen reflective pics done indoors. I think it could be done on table top using a sheet of glass with a black piece of poster board underneath.
  21. Thanks Mike. Thanks Virgil, When taking the reflective pics I always shoot in this same location. Like I said nothing elaborate but it does the job.
  22. Hey Virgil, Just thought id share a way that I like to take pics of my builds outdoors sometimes. Its not really next level or an elaborate set up, but I feel its a cool way of getting a different type of pic. Basically I just hose down the concrete which forms a shallow puddle, which helps to capture reflections of the model.
  23. Wow ! Thats killa. Excellent paint job. All the mod's and extra detail certainly bring it to life. Well done for sure.
