359 Peterbilt (customised)
Cool Hand replied to Cool Hand's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Work in progress continued. Extended lower edges of the cab, sleeper and front guards. Made fuel tanks, rear guards. Filled in various mounting holes and started to smooth the hood/bonnet,cab and sleeper. Anyways thats where im up to at the moment, will have a progress update soon. -
Not really into trucks/big rigs all that much, but I have become a fan of the customised show rigs you guys have in the U.S. So after getting some inspiration from the net, dvd's a mate lent me and a French model truck builder. I decided to venture into a subject I have not built before. Started with a cheap easy kit, to get an idea of what its like to build a truck. If this build turns ok il get a better kit and build another. So after some guidance from my mate, the progress began. Out of the box mock up to get an idea of what and where to modify to get the look im after. (apologize for the poor quality of the first few pics) After some modifications to frame, front and rear suspension it was lowered and stretched.

Awesome! The chassis is very impressive and all the other detail work make this build stand out for sure

Model Cars worldwide...
Cool Hand replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Ok il chime in. Another Australian from Port Pirie (aka Lead City) South Australia. Some Aussie cars I have built. Holden FJ Holden FC Holden HK ute (this was built to represent a Summernats burn-out car) Holden HQ Monaro And finally in Australia we love our ute's,so I converted an Impala to a ute. -
Nice one mate, well detailed and cleanly built.
-
As already said super clean and excellent detail work. 68's are my favorite year of Impala's,wish one of the kit manufacturers would release a new freshly tooled kit.

Cheers for the comments. Yeah their good fun kits to build, but their is a couple things that can be done different from the way the instruction show how to do assembly in order to eliminate seams on the frame. -
As usual great imageneering and modification work.

You know me mate, like that paint job.

Cool Hand replied to Helix's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Dash conversion looking good so far. The body is really starting to take shape now. And I return the thanks for asking me to build the chassis, because at that time I was in a slump and had no motivation to build. But by doing that chassis for you it snapped me out of the slump. Cheers mate -

Like the way you opened and hinged it Martin. Nice paint work Joker.
-
Whoa! Its all starting to come together now Mark. Looks great. I bet that mural was tricky as to do.
-
Thanks for the comments on the paint work. Thanks Martin. I did alot of research and watched many youtube videos before I attempted using the airbrush.Which helped big time. Yeah the whole body is getting done,Im currently working on the sides, should be done in a few days. Just a suggestion before you do some tape and paint work on the Monte, find some spare bonnets/hoods and have some practice on them first. Pegasus #1109 "Dz's" Chrome Thats what I use on my builds and I get them from here http://stores.scaled.../Categories.bok

Ok,just for you Doc. Im still waiting for paint for the 65 Impala. So in the meantime I have been working on this (its Lowrider related just not being built for this topic) Just practicing doing patterns and using an airbrush to apply paint,in preperation for another build I plan to do for this C.B
