  1. Nice ! I bought one new in 1970 Tried building one when I got back into modeling, but it is just too small. I'm champing at the bit to build the 1/20th scale one I have stashed.
  2. See Ovaltracklegends seller on EBAY.
  3. I'd ask Mathew at SMS. Short of that, if there is any extra film on the decal sheet, apply it as you will on the car and test. You can also apply the decals and a coat of Future to protect them.
  4. Any time you can make a profit from your hobby is a plus in my book. I don't know where it became "a sin" to have a profit from something you enjoy.
  5. Is the model master primer enamel? If so, don't use it under the Lacquer. When in doubt, test on something. Also, don't "settle" for just what you can find. There must be an automotive type paint & body supply locally,or at least explore the usual big box auto stores like autozone,Pep Boys etc.Get some Plasticote or Dupli-color primer,
  6. There is someone selling some multi/media kits of 30's Indy winners. Check it out by searching resin.
  7. Remember that no matter what and how important our little hobby is,it's just a job to many in the biz. Add to that, much or all tooling and molding is now done (and has been done for a while) in Asia there will be gaffes.Stateside, It's actually more profitable to mold disposable dinnerware! I worked for a while at two injection / thermoforming companies.
  8. Got them Dave. Thanks a lot. I remember a fueler back then with that adjustable rear. For some reason I'm thinking it was the Magic car? Don't remember the chassis builder though.
  9. I thought I saw a PE ste on ebay recently.
  10. If that's the way the person in the video wants to do that it's fine with me.Personally,I'd use a gravity feed small gun with a tip sized for the flake used and shoot clear & flake together. I don't know if that would work well on a small model car though. That looks like some big flake!
  11. Thanks Dave. How do I get them? I didn't see them at your PB site. Can you send to my email? mkucaba@q.com
  12. That is not a disaster. Clean the body real well with some soap & warm water and scrub with a brush and some abrasive cleanser, then prime lightly and continue with the build. Don't forget to wash all the parts too.
  13. I've used it and like it. I went to a automotive paint shop here in Mesa and showed them the paint and asked about what to thin it with. I got 2 quarts of enamel reducer by Advantage. The numbers on the qts. are 112 &114 You don't have to get the exact brand, just a good quality reducer for enamel. This paint got a lot of bad press because they (Valspar) tried to make hay with the HOK name. Valspar does own HOK,but this is not HOK.
  14. Man! That's a LOT of decals for a LOT of cars!
  15. Your on the right track.First rule of organizing/space saving is to maximize the vertical space.
  16. That's a great link and resource. Do you know where to get info on the older chassis like by Long,Fuller etc. I think I could use the Revell kits as guides, but I don't know how accurate they are. I recently acquired a resistance soldering set-up and I'm anxious to try it.
  17. Nice collection! Any one ever figure out now many different Super Stock Dodges could be made using the Lindberg kits and supplied and aftermarket decals?
  18. Niiiice! One of my favorite Mustang styles.
  19. Actually you don't even need a coupon.I was standing in line there one day and a customer showed the clerk the coupon on her iphone and got the discount!!
  20. Me too! Gives me a reason to go thru my parts box and find that 1/24th hood and grille.!
  21. I concur with everyone else! Super work!!
  22. Nice, and the chrome looks really shiny, not like most kit chrome to my eyes and the BMF around the window frame looks super sharp!!
  23. Roadster pickups were all the rage in modeling 10 years back. I still think they're cool and the more unusual the better most times. You could make the bed cover and the piece you show look like one piece, but have them have the appearance of opening independently.
  24. WOW! Had to Google some images to check that out. Was that ever noted in any reviews when it came out.Short of cutting it apart and moving it around don't know. How do they do this when there is plenty of reference material around to avoid it?
