  1. "All of which still makes me wonder why so many people call it "fee bay" and "evil bay". The truth is, there's NO WAY IN JELL I could have sold a Lamborghini crankshaft to a guy in Spain without ebay / paypal. It works, it's secure, the fees are worth what you get in return....a GLOBAL market." I couldn't have said it better!
  2. Short of actually seeing it,you may need a new body. I'd scuff the body with 0000 steel wool and shoot a coat of primer and see how bad it is after that.
  3. Lets not forget the many swap/toy shows that are happening in your area, probably every weekend. Many people put in a lot of effort to put these together. And yes,I know the economy sucks.
  4. This is all very nice, and something that you should be very proud of,but is the inclusion of all that detail really necessary? I'm sure it must drive up the cost at sale time. Great for a shop theme or diorama, but most will just assemble and cover it all up.
  5. HMMMMMMM MUSHROOMS(think Homer Simpsons' voice) You should do that on paper and have a decal made.
  6. And yet another great reason there should be intelligent tests to vote!! Welcome to the United States of Entertainment
  7. I like to build older re-issues that were not my thing when released originally. I had a ball with the ModelKing reissue of the '64 Mercury Comet. Fitting different, more detailed chassis from some of the newer re-issues,cutting open the hoods etc. Some older stuff, like '58'-59 I would rather get high-quality resin and go from there.
  8. Looks good and some good info passed around here on that year(s) Falcon. I'll join the crowd here as I too have a restore in the pile of one of these.
  9. Very nice build of a stylish car!
  10. "I know where I will be spending birthday money at" "I know where I will be spending My children's inheritance at" Promise?
  11. Sounds like an Idyllic life. I do chores around the house, like clean it.
  12. Photobucket said they are going to try and create a work around for this and they did suggest that they found an upgrade to 10.6. I haven't checked it out yet,but I bet it is for and intel chip machine. On a better note, someone in my community has a later iMac that does have the intel chip, but a bad hard drive, and I can have it for free! If I can get this unit up and running for $200-$300 I'll be all set.
  13. "Price, uncertainty about quality (unless you have used the caster before), thickness of bodyshells, uncertain ethics (unless you know better), long delivery times, ordering difficulties due to no pics or no website..." Well when you put it that way, your right, resin certainly is a crapshoot!
  14. Hi Rom, No link that I know of,it was in the magazine possibly before the birth of the forum.I'll check my back issues and get back to you.
  15. Whenever I see a thread like this I scratch my head and think "what's wrong with resin"?
  16. Fantastic work! A few years ago Jairus did a multi-part build of this kit in MCM.I don't know if you'll get anything out of it but it might be good read. That upgrade kit sure looks like it was worth it!
  17. X2 on that Andy! Been there and what an example of big government stupidity.
  18. I think (having a lot of R&R resin) I'd sooner buy resin before giving up that kind of money for a builder/built-up. Heck you could buy TWO resin copies, screw one up and still be ahead
  19. Why not find a used motor that sounds better than yours and swap it in?
  20. Super clean is my goto stripper, but now and then I use 99% alcohol and Dawn Power dissolver.
  21. I'll be building one as soon as it cools off! Air Conditioning is mandatory I have discovered since living here and as tightly sealed as possible to eliminate dust.
  22. You could buy/acquire the whole kit and just remove the motor and offer it up here as trade material.
  23. Try also the Aircraft Resource Center also known as A.R.C. They're easy to find, just google
