  1. I only found TS-21 when I checked Hobbytown online. Most online shops have it as discontinued anyway, and those that had it the price was $15+. A Google search came up on a discussion board (MCM, ever hear of this site?) and there it was pretty much dismissed as an attempt at a mirror gold or chrome (in the case of silver). Oh well
  2. Record the next rain storm or the next several rains. Nothing like a video for evidence.
  3. TS-83 Silver metallic.
  4. This paint sells for 15.00 a 100ml can. Why so much? Has anyone used it? Was it worth it? There is also a silver at that price.
  5. 'This isn't necessarily the most wanted by me but the Phantom Corsair comes to mind.
  6. And if you're using it all the time look up Donjer products on the web. You can buy in bulk and never run out.
  7. How well did they work? were the templates accurate?
  8. That is a Chrysler Imperial I guess about '70-'71. Has anyone identified the Red White and Blue '65 Chevy II?
  9. I've had that model on my bench before. I started with the R&D Unique version years ago and just wasn't happy with how it was turning out. I got back on it a few years ago after finally seeing how the trunk opens. FWIW the headlite covers must snap on and of as I have seen many photos of the tall fin car without them. The snout could probably be extended with some plastic bent to shape and blended in.
  10. There are plenty in the world of plumbing and refrigeration. Unfortunately they are all too big for most modeling. One that I haven't yet checked out is made by DuBro. You'll find them in most well stocked hobby shops with a bent towards R/C.
  11. Any reference to it being Sting ray based I've never read. If I recall correctly , the builder was quite accomplished at scratchbuilding having been in the Fisher Body guild contest earlier.
  12. What risk? Proper ventilation, a respirator etc. Personally I still use clear lacquer and feel that 2K clear is not accurate on replica stock. It does look good though
  13. HI Len, I have the mag on the left , and maybe the one on the right. I can't find either right now, but I have the contest annual from the day. It states that the car was formed in clay and a mold made then a body was formed in fiberglass. The running gear was XKE Jag and seats from a Riviera kit. I don't remember any "build-up" article about it in any of the two mags that I can't find. Hope that helps!
  14. I think of a special type of plate that some food is served on at some restaurants
  15. All Right!! Another 3M product being used in modeling!! Great choice
  16. My choice would be 30 minute epoxy mixed with micro-balloons. Flowable ,strong, and non-reactive to adjacent plastic. It sands easy too.
  17. Purple Pond! Salvaged many a kit that way. Don't even think of taking it apart, just put em in one kit at a time, or go for the whole bunch.
  18. I've been using 0000 steel wool for paint prep, removing mold lines, scuffing tough places to sand etc. I usually give a small ball of it, (or the whole pad )& rinse it out with denatured alcohol and then rub the part down and wash with dawn. Steel wool is cheap, and if a piece of it starts to rust I toss it.
  19. Nice ideas all. I like Mike's armoire, and have always thought that would be a good way to go. Currently I'm looking at enclosing a 10x20 space on my carport. Sealing it from the Arizona dust will be the big challenge.
  20. Very nice and like others have said, great way to promote the hobby. I especially like the diner, what is the source?
  21. I grew up believing it was an Oldsmobile
  22. Title says it all. Have seen 1/12th covered but nothing fro 1/9-8. Is 1/12th close enough?
  23. I haven't tried this, but how about Future? I tried the Aileen's tacky glue and had trouble removing it. With Future a bath in some water with ammonia it would come right off.
  24. Len sold FP to a friend and he closed it after a year or so. I think Len is still active in shows promoting at least one. Also, There is another Fantastic Plastic , it deals with limited runs of aircraft and sci-fi and sometimes concept/fantasy.
  25. This may help or not ,but I just received some turned aluminum tire air valves as a freebie from an ebay seller. They are made by Top Studio and could be used as knobs, buttons etc.
