  1. Nice build on a favorite classic. The Kustom devil in me keeps whispering in my ear to build one with a bubble top.
  2. Very good build! Looks like it was recently done. The air intake detail is fabulous.
  3. I see more problems/ post about Krylon than any other paint.
  4. I think I saw this at the patch panel post and that's when I had a computer meltdown. Nice to see this one come along so well.
  5. Nice save! Great BMF work. Those MV lens show up at hobby shops that focus on Railroad stuff, also check ebay.
  6. Very nice !! I got a bunch of them and think they are very worthwhile kits to build. IMHO Revell should have produced a stock height stock body coupe.
  7. You done good on that one!!
  8. Regarding rear view mirrors, I'm surprised these haven't been replaced by cameras yet.
  9. How can I print this out? Isn't there something like "screen shot" or something so that you can print just what your looking at? This is really handy and would make a great magazine pull out... gives new meaning to centerfold....
  10. Interesting story and so far excellent work. I do think you are being a little over critical of a model kit molded in an era when they were considered toys. Some modifications to old race cars are done because if you want to race the thing it still has to pass safety tech and track insurance rigs. Not getting the replica that is destined to reside in a museum right is just wrong IMHO. D you have the HOT ROD issue with the car on the cover? On a lighter note, I hope you decide to build Revell's Challenger. With your dedication it should be right on.
  11. That's a real nice model, and you did a real nice job building it. Don't cringe, but recently I hacked into TWO of those to build a Corvette SR-2 and the X-sonic show car.
  12. Yeah that was my problem, I was searching for that topic on how to search , And couldn't find it Thanks for all the tips and I'll try and remember that. ( hey! I AM getting better at posting pics)
  13. Well I'm sure either way will work & there is always two ways to skin a cat LOL. If you need some vette parts shoot me a message of what you need and I'll give it a look. This is gonna be interesting!!
  14. Your builds look nice, really clean! That 1/43 series by AMT could've been really great if they had made the Cuda & the Vette stock. The '36 & 48 fords are neat and most of the rest. Using engines from the Mono Cobra & Vette they did would be cool.
  15. Tried a replica of The Adonis. It went south fast as front end had me flummoxed! I cut off the back of one top and put the rear on the front and joined it to the other rear. The front is a custom part from the '58 or '57 Chevy and the rear is from the '64 mercury.
  16. Don't ask me how I know this, but carefully assess using a Corvette as a base. Look closer at modifying (A VERY LOT) an AMT (or Revell '58 Chevy. You'll have the roof already there ,and with your skills, plugging in the necessary cues from the vette should be doable. Good luck! this is on my to do list also if I live long enough!
  17. Yes, I think it was a reference point, but I still used some tape on the white body and sprayed some primer on just to mark the cut clearly. The front custom pan is in play, but also sectioned and the Desoto grille is from the parts pack grille set. Need to finish off the interior, and some head lite treatment... Thanks for the comments! I think I'll post some more old stuff!
  18. Started this in 2011.Wanted to see if I could section a model with opening doors.
  19. All free hand, Had the body on a coat hanger, all three cans warmed, shaken and ready to go started at the bottom with the Inca gold, then the Lime Ice, then the Fiery Orange. One right after the other, no drying time between colors.
  20. This was done with spray cans. Inca gold Lime something or other and revving red Testor's.

  22. I tried searching my content and could not go any further than 7/2012 . Is that the limit?
  23. The only solution(?) as I see it, is for those of us that compose complete sentences that can be comprehended, with correct spelling, punctuation and grammar in English, ignore those who ask assistance of the Forum. I really don't care what the textheads want to do amongst themselves, when you post here use proper form. Of course for those to whose English is a secondary language are excused.
