I got a Rock!
Seriously, I got a 1/18 Diecast of a 197x Opel GT Very nicely done by Minichamps. I had one when new, Then started collecting them in the early 80's in an attempt to keep the one I bought then on the road. You acquire a few parts cars when dealing with an orphan car.
I agree with Bill, The parts count is light, and the motor isn't an EM item either, but the body was molded very fine and almost delicate.
Mine was molded in red so painting was weird. I'll see if I can find it and shoot some pics.
I tried to register but the password keeps kicking back? This has to be the longest password Í have ever experienced. Usually it's something short, then a captcha to weed out bots.
That looks very nice! That's a model I seldom see displayed anywhere. The way you did the chassis reminds me of how I use to apply rust - proofing in the late '60's. Great work on both.
I would vac form the entire roof in clear including the frame work, then just BMF the frame work. Trying to make the roof sections hinge look almost impossible from where my skills sit.
You don't mention what equipment you have to do vac forming, or what the nature of the failures.
The rest of the build looks great.
And there is a '56 Continental Mark II. I had one of those but sold it for parts. I did keep the taillights which are little more refined than on the example you posted.
