  1. AMT's '62 Pontiac catalina and I agree about Mono's '64 GTO
  2. Yes I've always wanted to do a scratch built paper model. There's even a special paper for doing that,it's called "scratch paper"
  3. A lathe,a mill, 3d printer...... and the beat goes on.....
  4. When using the decal sets and solvents, you REALLY have to heed the cautions about trying to move the decals after applying. Generally after I'm SURE I have the decal located where I want it is when I use the solvent, and some are hotter than others.
  5. It's what starts with http// ya da ya da ya da.... To post using PB look for the URL that starts with img.... HTH
  6. I'll use the net,old magazines etc and try to model the car to a specific one, even if it's restored, and you do that to a T it's correct in my mind.
  7. Testors makes a color called Rubber. A very convincing dark gray.
  8. Decals? p/e? and ribbon from the fabric store.
  9. Put that model in a display case and refer back to it every so often to see where you've been and how far you've come!
  10. I wasn't aware these were not available in kits when I saw the add in the forum. They do look nice. Won't there be a void in the tread pattern when the sprue is cut away? I know that you can position the tire so that doesn't show, just commenting on the product.
  11. Tweezers, Test fit over and over.
  12. Oh My GOD! I've been just tossing those in the trash..... Jus' kiddin' I may have some.
  13. I know I've seen those by some photo etch company, but it might have been military stuff. I'll check on it.
  14. Ohhh My EYEs!! Jus' kiddin' I call these creations junk box madness and sometimes they turn out smashing!! This is rough now but looks like some potential. Keep at it.
  15. As I understand,the '58 started the series,and the '59 & '60 were logical modified re-issues.
  16. The Scarab and race weathered XJ jag look great and so does the Cad custom. Thanks for the posting.
  17. I guess I'd look at all the 1/24-25th scale PE to see what that scale has. Also,do you want to duplicate others? It's nice to have a fullline of parts, but aren't there a lot of PE dzus fasteners? If you can do them better, then,by all means go for it.
  18. What are some good sources for these. I checked ebay and only found one kit type. They look good!
  19. I don't think I've ever seen anyone put this kind of effort into The Dino! So far this is one fabulous build!!!
  20. Are you blocking out or sanding with your fingers? Whatever you may be hitting a high spot,or the paper is conforming to your fingers. Make sure you soak the paper or cloth for a few minutes to soften the backing, and have something flat backing up the sanding medium.
  21. Oh My!! And here I want to move to a bigger scale than 1/24-25th Really nice!
  22. What were the issues with the resin conversion parts? BTW I picked up two '62 GP conversions by Shawn Carpenter from a vendor at the recent show I was at in Tucson. Castings are great and even come plated.
  23. Generally that large can of putty will go bad before you use even half of it.
