BUMP ! Still awaiting for some-one to post photos of the gold version ...
-
I can't wait for the Cutlass / 442 !
-
Only the "426-S" , a 365hp 426 Wedge . It was , in es , a stopgap between the 325hp 383 and the pending 440 of 1966 ( 360-370 hp ) .

1967 Dart GT+S : Both transmissions ( 4-speed and Torqueflite ) , and period-correct performance parts ( headers , intake , tyres , wheels , etc. ) . 1970 Swinger 340 : All three transmission choices (standard 3-speed , optional 4-speed , optional Torqueflite) ; Six Pack or single 4 Bbl options ; four wheel choices ( steelies with hubcaps or deluxe wheel covers , Rallye wheels , period correct "mags" such as Motor Wheels Spyders ) . 1970-1972 El Camino / 1971-1972 GMC Sprint : In theory one kit could contain all years' parts . Engine choices would be either the 350 (with induction options) or the Mark IV (including GMC-exclusive "Invader" air cleaner decal). 4-speed or TH-400 ; optional console / floor shift ; flat hood and cowl hood , in addition to an L-88 hood . Period-correct add-ons (wheels , tyres , etc.) . 1970 Ranchero GT : The "385-Series" tooling already exists in the Revell Torino GT ; add both Windsor and "335-Series" (Cleveland) options . 4-speed , C6 , and FMX options ; and of course a full compliment of era-specific add-ons . 1974 Camaro Type LT : Stock small block and transmission options , and the option to build the last Nickey car ! Renault R5 Turbo : Street-stock format

Has any-one purchased the gold-coloured version ? If so , would you please share some photos ? Thanks .
-
Rastislav , I absolutely love your creation ! That blue colour is perfect ! Your detailling work is incredible ; that takes rock-steady hands to accomplish ! Where-ever did you source those Firestone tyres ?

Another old hobby shop photo(s)

(213) UNderhill-93661 . 9128 E. Telegraph is at Downey's northern border ; across the street is the city of ( Pico ) Rivera . I could swear that Bert's Hobbies was still in business at that location as of 1980 ... -
wow ! That is a gorgeous Charger , Ludwig ~! I really like the colour scheme ; silver with white interior is how I have envisioned the way I would have ordered one in 1967 (except that I would have elected for the red 'accents' versus black) . And those wheels ! Cragar S/S were --and still very much are-- popular wheels here in the U.S. ; and your choice of redline tyres is perfect !

From the IMDB page : "With its original runtime of 74 minutes, the TV movie was not long enough to be released in theaters. Universal called Spielberg back to shoot additional scenes in order to make it a 90-minute film. These new scenes were the railroad crossing, the school bus, the scene where David phones his wife and the opening scene where the car backs out of the garage and drives through the city." I stand corrected

Pretty Calico sweetheart , Andy ! I have a Calico heart , too (see attached photo) . I swear that she's part Cougar ! She growls , hisses , chirps , trills , etc . , just like a Mountain Lion ! Best behaved feline companion I've ever shared a home with ! Now , this guy here (again , attached photo) is a big reason why I have to work slowly on any project ! He's turning 13 this year , but he still acts like a kitten ! Being that he's half-British Shorthair , he's naturally curious ; a true "Ship's Cat" ! Love them both to pieces

YouTube used to have the original 1971 made for T.V. release , and the inside shots of Chuck's Cafe wasn't part of it . IIRC , the 2nd gas station scene was also added (?) .
-
Scenes Unlimited supplied the sets that I bought ; however , it appears as though the hubcaps and their accompanying wheels are ostensibly missing from their site . I , too , am going to build the MPC 1978 Chevy Pickup . I had a few when they were new , but I was too young to properly assemble them . I'm starting with an unbuilt sample which I got for a song from eBay a couple of years ago . Now , if only Round2 could restore the 2-wheel-drive parts ...

Duel is an amazing piece of cinema to be certain . Watched it religiously as a kid ; never missed a T.V. airing ! The added scenes are as follows : - Opening Sequence : Backing-out of a garage in Arcadia ; travelling through Pasadena neighbourhoods ; travelling-up Broadway in downtown L.A. ; out-of-sequence drive up the Pasadena Freeway ( by 1971 , its route number was "CA 11" ) , then up the Golden state Freeway ( I-5 ) to the Antelope Valley Freeway ( CA 14 ) . At that point , the sequence is blended-in with the T.V. movie's original opening sequence . - Fuel Station # 1 . Added vignette is of 'Mann' entering the laundromat and calling his wife . - Scene Inside Chuck's Cafe : In the Novembre 1971 Movie of the Week original , Weaver ( "Mann" ) loses control of the Valiant , and goes skidding and sliding into the lot across from Chuck's . After Mann dusts him-self off , he climbs back into the Valiant and drives away . The 1972 theatrical release shows Mann entering the cafe , and the whole added vignette which follows . - Disabled School Bus . The first scene where the 1972 Valiant is shown , as witnessed by its 1972 & later "universal" side marker lamp . - Rail Road Crossing . Again , the 1972 Valiant is seen here . There are added / extended chase scenes as well . Now , as far as the 'mistakes' : Duel was taken to film vis-a-vis the aforementioned Playboy article , which its-self was based upon a true story by its author , Richard Matheson . The overall vibe was supposed to represent the classic 'Western' genre , albeit with a contemporary twist . The film's name alone alludes to that .

I am more-than over the whole Rat Rod plague ! People --mostly hipster sheep-- will take any-thing to its reductio ad absurdium and then some . Any vehicle that's purposely been "patina'ed" and/or been gifted with a flat or satin black "paint job" is nothing more than a pile of _________ in my mind . If those more-dollars-than-brains cretins wanted a new(er) Camaro to look like a piece of junk , then why didn't they actually yank one from the junk yard and go to town on it ??? Attention whores !

I'm very tactile , always have been . That's a huge part of being an artist , being creative : that tactile sensation . Now , discarding that , let's look at the advantage of printed periodicals : - It exists . It's in an orgænic form that will long outlive any digitised format . It can be accessed at any time , especially if there's , oh , I don't know , a power outage (!!) or some other electronic malfunction . "E-books" and the such are just fine ; I have zero "problems" with their existance . I just prefer the experience of being connected to what I'm reading ... the tactile experience. BTW : Notice how not only vinyl records are "back" , but that Poloroid cameras are a "new" and "mysterious" thing to all of the born-1985-and-later kids ?
