  1. I second that ! Looks like it's going to be under the Special Editions moniker , and that it's a 2-in-1 ... !!! Wonder if it's based upon modified tooling for their 1969 Camaro (i.e. , backdated in a similar fashion as their 1969-come-1968 Dart series) ?
  2. There were different offsets , too . In some cases , the front Spyders' centres ( crowns ) would protrude via positive offset , whereas the rear wheels' centres were negative offset .
  3. MPC 's 1974 Duster annual , White Lightening 1969 Firebird (1978 issue) , and some other random MPC kits from the 70's . Why not just purchase the ones you have in the image ? I can attest to their excellence .
  4. Thanks , MrObsessive and Gerry ! Done & done .
  5. Do any of the decal printers ( e.g. , Slixx , et al. ) make sheets of Houndstooth-pattern decals ? For instance : the (pending) '69 COPO Camaro build I've lined up . I realise that the newer release SS/RS drop top has that pattern on the decal sheet ; and , while that's a cool kit , I don't wish to purchase it "only" for its interior decals . I'm also planning a Houndstooth upholstery for : - 1970 Barra'Cuda ; - 1971 Road Runner - 1972 Duster 340 I'm hoping to find a sheet of the desired decals with clear background (i.e. , Tor-Red interior for the Barra'Cuda) , but am okay with black / white background in the meantime ( i.e. , the '69 Camaro ). Please share links and photos . Thanks !
  6. ...and no vent windows ?!?
  7. This one ? http://www.mecumauction.com/auctions/lot_detail.cfm?LOT_ID=SC0508-65934
  8. I have yet another question regarding the 1969 COPO ZL-1 Camaro from Revell . I recognise that this kit has de facto SS/RS grille / headlamp doors , as well as RS tail lamps ; however , it is "missing" the RS's back-up lamps . I also have noticed that there's a set of clear , square 'lamps' on the "glass" tree ; are those the RS's back-up lamps ? If so , how would one go about adding them to this COPO ZL-1 Camaro kit ?
  9. Is that conversion kit from Hart's Parts ? His parts are top notch !
  10. Photo number 2 definitely looks like a winner , Mike ! I'll have to remember to utilise the custom version's front suspension when I get around to building mine .
  11. Merci ! I like your profile pic ; the 1970 RTS Hemi Road Runner !
  12. What if we inhabited the Earth's moon ? How would one of its residences appear ? Those were flash-thoughts in my brain ; my mind took-over from there . This was a gift to my dear friends whose move to Oregon was a sad day for me .
  13. 1965 Valiant 2 door coupe . I was sitting in the outside of Portfolio Coffeehouse in Long Beach (Ca.) on an unseasonablly-cool night in May 2000 , when this '65 Valiant pulled-up to the curb on Junipero . The salty , slightly-foggy air made the car's tail lamps appear as though they were projecting-from their housings ; I just had to draw a picture of it ! To add some more flavour to the pic , I illustrated an optial illusion ; the tree next to the curb provided the perfect opportunity for said illusion. The drawing's title is 4.2 Litre Le Puissance .
  14. I still have to get my mitts on Joe Oldham's "Confessions of a Supercar Tester " , too . Do you have a favourite year or model of the Fantastic Five ?
  15. You're right about that . A friend of mine swapped a 351 W into his '66 Sportsroof / 2+2 , and it barely fit ! I can only imagine what it'd take to sling an FE or MEL into that '64-'66 boilerroom !
  16. 1964 "1/2" = 260 V8 ; 2-speed automatic (Ford-O-Matic) in its final year ; and , no back-up lamps (not required until calendar year 1965) . 1965 = 289 V8 ; C4** "Cruise-O-Matic" ; disc brakes ( I believe...) ; Sportsroof / 2+2 ; GT package . My high school ( in 1985 ) girlfriend's mother had a early-production "1964 1/2" Mustang coupe which she bought new . It was a base model I-6 / 3-speed manual whose only options were AM radio and power steering . It had wheel covers (13" wheels ) ; I'm not sure if they were standard fare ; I've never seen a pre-1967 Mustang with hub caps . It was sans back-up lamps . ** The "C" in "C4" , in FoMoCo part numbers code = 1960's (e.g. , "A" =1940's , "B" = 1950's , ad seq. ) , and the following number represents the parts' year-of-application . Therefore , "C4" = 1964. This practise of alpha-numeric part numbers was dropped / revised / changed after the 1998 model year (ending with "F8") ; 1999 = "X" , 2000 = "Y" , 2001 = "Z" ; 2002 = "2" (ad seq.) .
  17. NICE !!! I can't wait to see your progress with the "Fantastic Five" ! Have you read Marty Schorr's "Tales of a Muscle Car Builder" ? The chapter on "Astoria Chas" and the KO Motion Corvette is a truly sad tale ( ) .
  18. It was influenced by the typical 1968-1971 Dodge and Plymouth illustrated ads .
  19. Probably the best improvement that you can make is to : - Separate the exhaust from the (Dana 60) axle , and ; - Separate the "downpipes" from the exhaust manifolds and glue their ends to the exhaust pipes . Even though you didn't inquire about the engine ; here's a suggestion : dump those "blobs" that are trying to pass as representations of the Holley 2300's , and replace them with the carbs from either the 1971 GTX , or the carbs from the AMT 1971 Duster 340 .
  20. Y'know , perhaps the presence of that Cad engine is due to Jo-Han "recycling" of its Eldorado parts ; they shared the same platform . A simiar instance ; Jo-Han also "recycled" the old Nash 287 / 327 engine in their '66 & later AMC kits ! By 1966 or 1967 , AMC had replaced the then-outdated Nash V8's with their own 290 / 343 / 390 (and subsequent 304 / 360 / 401) V8's. Now , it's time for me to apologise for rail roading your thread ( ) . Keep up with the great work , Ray !
  21. That's a super nice Toro , Ray ! I must inquire , however , about its Cadillac powerplant . I'm not suggesting that yoiu added a Cad engine ; I'm just wondering why Jo-Han decided to use a Cad 'plant versus the correct Olds 455 / Ne'er-the-less , that's not a detraction from your splendid workmanship .
