  1. I , too , would love to see Revell tool up a new-tooling 1967-1968 Camaro ! I also like the idea of an SS/RS (and the options to build one or both). It should have a small block as well as a 396 ; transmission should be separate ( 4 speed or Powerglide or TH 400 ) as well . This can and should be done ! Some of the new tooling already exists in the form of their excellent 1969 Nova series (i.e. , the front subframe , suspension , and the basis for a stand-alone Mark IV engine or small block) . Just like the "1:1" version , wherein the 'X' and 'F' bodies shared these components .
  2. I'd like to see a 1971-1972 Valiant 4 door ...
  3. Are you putting your kitties to work in the garage ? ( )
  4. Colloquially known as "1972 Blue" . Its shade differs from the 1971 & earlier "blue" (which is more grey-ish) , and is definitely a different shade than Chrysler Engine Turquoise .
  5. I hope that the infamous AMT snow tyres make it into the reissue ! Just look at that nice , nobby treadwork !
  6. Coming along quite nicely , Mike ! That tail panel looks like it's a pain to foil ; you did a great job with it ! I'm digging on the air cleaner 'pie tin' . 1970 was truly the last year for the "Super" in "Super Commando" ...
  7. A truly fine example of a classic Monogram kit ! Great work , Andy !
  8. That's a splendid Dart , Eric ! Missing Link's 1969-1975 Dodge hub caps are works of art , aren't they ! Good call on leaving them in unpainted condition ; 1974 was the last year that those caps were anodised and painted ; by early 1975 , they were 'plain' , just as yours are . I also recommend Missing Link's *other* Dodge parts : the 1972-1975 "W11" Deluxe 14" wheel covers . Those are what I'm going to utilise on the '75 Dart Sport that I'm presently working on . Keep up the great work , Eric !
  9. I finally found a good , vintage photo of Dandy Landy's real LS23M8B ; the photo shows the fenderwell headers clearly . For those of you whom have added fenderwell headers to your big block Darts , et al. : how did you go about fitting the headers to the engine ? Seems like a pain in "1:1" , so I can only imagine how much *fun* it must be in 25th scale !
  10. Bonus points to its owner for the sweet Yenko decals on the rocker covers ! That mess looks like a tweeker project ... you have my pity . Lots of butchers around my neck o'the woods ; boredom + uppers + anything electrical = rats' nest fire hazards .
  11. Nice pic of a cool car ! I love those Brasilian-market Darts ! I'm glad that you derived some pleasure out of that engine swap ( ) ! Ha ha ha ! If I wanted to make you cringe , Tulio , I'd find the photos (buried in storage) that I took of the 1954 F-100 which had its first-year-OHV-Ford-V8 yanked in favour of a Long-Ram Chrysler 413 (with the matching A-488 cast iron TorqueFlite !) .
  12. I bought my set of Spyders from a seller on eBay (give me a minute to pull up the link to the seller's page) ; I also recognise that Scenes Unlimited has them . Addendum : Link to the seller I'm in reference to : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Resin-1-25-Motor-Wheel-Spyder-Mag-Wheels-Narrow-Front-Wide-Rear-Set-/321064695204?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item4ac0f275a4
  13. I like it a lot ! That's a perfect colour for the period of the vehicle . Great job , Al !
  14. Highway CA 111 is a sketchy stretch of highway . Even worse : North Palm springs , Cathedrel City (a real gem of a city !) , etc. Just an absolute wind tunnel !! Then there's Fontana ; I hate Santa Ana Winds !!!
  15. Dodge didn't --and still doesn't-- mess around when it comes to axle choices for their 4x4 (or even 4x2) pickups ! Dana 60 front with a Dana 80 rear !
  16. Comparing this reissue's chassis against the original 1972 Duster Annual chassis ; when were the moulded-in Torsion Bars "deleted" , and why ? I had an original 1976 Dart Sport Annual some years ago ; however , I can't recall if the T-Bars were still in-place by that "last hurrah" of the A-bodies ... Conversely , the 1983 Modified-Reissue (moulded-in-red) "Dodge Duster" street machine was reviewed in SAE in 1984 , and its reviewer mentioned (to closely-paraphrase) : "No Torsion Bars whatsoever [...] just air ! ..." Maybe the coveted Pro Stock run of the Butch Leal Duster and its companion Sox & Martin kits deleted the T-Bars ?
  17. Thanks for the info , Allen . I'm going to closely-replicate the "Fred Gibb" tribute version (as pictured in this thread) . Some details will be *overlooked* for the sake of simplicity ; other details will be easily-added (header flanges , primarily ). I noticed that this kit has the Chamfered [sp?] Exhaust ; not sure if any of the ZL-1's came with that arrangement ...
  18. Thanks , Casey ! The latest issue of Muscle Car Review didn't feature any under-bonnet photos (who knows why ?) , so this is perfect .
  19. One photo of it is included in the first post . The hood was called "Stilleto" or something as such ; not a "Stinger" nor an "L-88" ; definitely a unique piece ! Here's the photo again : It's "71" LeMans Blue ,and is a column-shift TH 400 !
  20. Ha ha ... I was "hiding" my purchase until tonight ; hiding it in my car like a little kid , or a husband trying to hide his "unnecessary" purchase . I was again perusing the photos of the Fred Gibb "tribute" car ; you're right about its headers' flanges . I want to replicate that car as close as possible ; some of that will be easy (thanks to *someone* whose Spyder wheels will fit the bill perfectly ) ; and some will be not so 100% . I'll have to use the hood from the MPC "White Lightening" 1969 Trans Am kit , as that's the one on the "1:1" car . I'm sure that mod's will be necessary ... *grumph* Thanks for your input and guidance !
  21. Cool ! Y'know , I haven't even opened it yet ... ha ha ha ... I just assumed that cast iron manifolds were standard fare ! Thanks , Casey !
  22. I just bought one of the Revell ZL-1 COPO Camaro kits , and my intention is to replicate a column-shift TH 400 , SS/DA version (see attached photo) . Where can I find a good set of big block 'X' and 'F' body headers for this kit ? I already have two excellent resin-cast TH 400 transmissions from B-N-L Resins ; one for this Camaro , and one for the COPO Nova (SS/EA) . Highly recommend BNL's parts ! Fred Gibb 1969 COPO (with my favourite wheels !!)
  23. While Fenderwell-Exit headers were most-common (probably 95% of the time at least) , there were a couple of outfits back in the day who made Underchassis-Exit headers for 383 / 440 Darts and Barracudas ; "J.R. Headers" and "Iggy's Muffler" , with the latter being the shop which Mr Norms used , at least on their 1967 GSS 383 Dart (which was converted from a Slant Six powered '67 GT Dart) . I've even seen a couple of examples of Fenderwell Headers on 273 and 340 powered Darts and Barracudas . Not sure why a small block car received the butchery for fenderwell-exit headers ... I really don't want to rob my coveted Jo-Han '64 Super Stock Dodge of its headers . I did manage to find a "parts car" Dick Landy '68 SS/EA Dart on eBay (via an email to one of the sellers I do business with ; an unadvertised kit) whose body was missing and its interior was cannibalised , but all of its engine / exhaust / chassis parts were still untouched ( !! !! ) . Thanks to all of you whom have replied .
  24. Mike and Andy , those interiors are perfect ! In my haste to reply , I'd neglected to mention --it's really an addition to Harry's , et al. , replies-- that , given the same top colour coat , that varying the base coats' colours will also provide the desired shades ; for instance : dark grey for the "carpet" , light(er) grey for seats / door panels , and perhaps white for the glossy parts (dash frame , primarily) . This way , you can utilise just one can of top-colour coat , but change its appearance by employing varied base-colour ("primer") coats. Good luck and have fun !
  25. The "E58" 360 was available with the Hang 10 model . The only limiting factor was that all Hang 10's were console-shift automatics , regardless of engine ; however , I wouldn't be surprised to find that Chrysler built one or two special order 4 speed models (which would naturally execute the console , as no console / manual trans A-bodies were built after 1969 for U.S. or Canada consumption). For 1975 there was a similar interior option for the Duster . Actually , it may be the exact interior trim / colour combo as the Hang 10 ... "Custom" , was its name , IIRC .
