  1. I like the Mustard Tigre ! "Whatca lookin' at my gut fir ?!"
  2. I say "coveted" , as for a really long time I was financially broke . Even a $30 eBay purchase (plus "X" amount for shipping) was too expensive for me . So , "coveted" is a personal assessment as opposed to an overall generalisation regarding their (perceived) monitery value . Now I've got number two-of-two purchased , Jo-Han 1968 Fury I Pursuit kits coming . The latest one has a broken windshield ; perfect for a "retired" version of the car ( i.e. , cracked windshield and whatnot) . I'll definitely keep you in mind shall I decide to purchase / trade for one of your '91 Caprice 9C1's
  3. Thank you to all whom have replied ; thanks for the photos , too ! I think that I'll go with the dark blue interior with the standard black rubber mats ; and , I agree completely that they're much better than carpet . The majority of my my old cars had rubber mats --excepting my 1970 Ranchero GT-- whether I added them (in the case of my 1972 Dart Swinger) or if they were factory-equipped (in the case of my 1973 Duster) . I wasn't aware that the LT-1 came along later . Guess I'm not all that hip on GM's engine designations ; I thought that all of their high perf 350's were LT-1's . I never noticed the black B and C pillar deal between the '91 and '92 models , as the majority of the departments where I grew up had their cars in black and white : - LAPD = white doors and roof ; - LASD = white front doors and roof , and ; - CHP = white front doors (below the door glass belt line) and white roof (above the doors' tops). Whittier PD 'copied' the LAPD's colour scheme . While I think about it ; were the silicone hoses green , red or blue in 1991 / 1992 ? Now to find some images of the LASD's "A-B-C" logo ... or should I go with Paramount or La Mirada ? ... Thanks again ! Please continue to contribute to this thread
  4. I just bought a coveted 1991 Caprice 9C1 / Taxi / Fire Dep't Revell kit , and am attempting to ascertain some of its "1:1" scale relatives' options ; to wit : - What colour interior was available ? I have seen a dark blue primarily ; however , I *think* that I've seen a beige / tan as well . * - How were the wheel covers painted ? Semi-gloss black centre with a gold Bow Tie emblem ? - Were the 1991-1992 models with the LT1 available with dual exhaust ? I'm wanting to replicate a well-used Los Angeles Sheriff's Dep't model (specifically , an "A-B-C" (Artesia-Bellflower-Cerritos) unit ) . As many of them as I'd seen in their prime , for the life of me I can't recall what colour their interiors were (!) . I would like to see a link to the specs of the 1991 9C1 Package ( 1992 will suffice ) . Also , please share photos here ; "1:1" scale or build-ups of the Revell kit . * = one of the most piculiar interiors I've seen of a 9C1 Caprice was that of a then-new fleet of CHP models . The front-interior was a H.D. cloth seat in blue , with colour-keyed carpeting ; the rear "back seat driver" compartment consisted of a hard plastic seat , and a black rubberised-vinyl floor cover !
  5. Some pics of a 1970 Barracuda (BH23) with a Mod Top and Mod Interior ! (photos courtesy of the Mod Top Registry , et al.) http://www.mooresmopars.com/modtop3.html
  6. I like that a lot . Residing in Southern Ca. my entire 44 years , I have seen a few Western Sport Special Darts (including a super clean 1969 Dart in medium gold metallic with a white vinyl top and a tan-ish gold interior whose owner was a teacher at my H.S.) , and maybe one 1970 WSS Challenger. Which special model Dart , 1971 Charger , and Challenger had fixed quarter glass (with interior-colour plugs for the rear window regulator) ? "Deputy" or something ?
  7. The only 1/25 scale differences between a 1975 and 1976 Dart would be the ambre-coloured parking lamps / turn signals in the grille . In "1:1" scale , there are a host of differences . To name but two : 1.) Interior Rear View Mirror was mlounted to the windshield 2.) Parking Brake was a pedal versus the pull-out-to-apply e-brake of 1960-1975 . This recent issue features restored parts from the 1975 annual (and its virtual twin , the 1976 annual) which was originally an MPC kit . It was first retooled in 1983-ish (moulded in red) and couldn't be built "stock" (the stock Rallye Wheels and matching tyres were absent) . Then in ca.2004 , the same kit was reissued , this time under the {{dreaded}} RC2 banner . Other than the change in the plastic's colour , it was a direct-reissue (and had clear glass as opposed to the heavily-tinted glass which MPC employed in the early 80's). In other words : this is the one to get ! Round2 restored all of the original parts
  8. My favourite option on this car = the front bench seat ! Buckets were standard in the Barracuda line ( including the Gran Coupe and 'Cuda ) .
  9. I *believe* that the wheels were 13" , and had 4 retainers . 14" with 5 retainers were V8 and-or Disc brake equipped models .
  10. I buy Duplicolor Chrysler Engine Orange . It lasts a long time ; it lays-out nicely , and ; it's the original colour . Chrysler Engine Red was dropped after the 1969 model year . Here's a list of the colours of the 340 , broken down by year(s) , including air cleaner colour (see below): - 1968 = Chrysler Red - 1969 = Chrysler Blue* - 1970-1971 = Chrysler Orange - 1972-1973 = Chrysler Engine Blue ( colloq. : "1972 Blue" ) Air Cleaner Colours : - 1968-1969 = Semi-Flat (Satin) Black - 1970-1971 = Black Wrinkle + - 1972-1973 = "Air Cleaner" Orange (technically differs from Engine Orange ; it's a bit more yellow) NOTES : * = Some 1969 340's were Red (very early production . I've seen a late 1968-build , Los Angeles Plant assembled , 1969 Dart GTS 340 whose original engine was Red) ; most were "Engine Blue" (more of a turquoise) , and ; some very-late 1969 340's were Engine Orange (yet to see one in-person) + = Some 1970-model "N95" (Cleaner Air Package / California Emissions) air cleaners had twin snorkles (with "Pre-Heat" tube from the driver's side manifold) . These were painted semi-gloss black . To further muddy the waters ; I'm yet to see a single 1970 340 air cleaner in this fashion , and I'm a life-long Calif resident (!).
  11. Pre-Orders are now available !
  12. My vote is for : - Elastomeric front - Chrome rear I , too , believe that the wheels' reatiner pins are bagged with the 'glass' , albeit in a separated-by-a-"heat-pinched"-area . Now I have to double check my copy !
  13. Another consideration ; if you want a truly authentic underbelly , don't forget to spray the wheelwells , chassis-side of the Shear Panels (colloq. , "inner fender wells") , and at least half of the grille-side of the core support (from the bottom-up) , in a satin black . Even cars which didn't receive factory undercoating had those aforementioned areas "blacked-out" . Only exceptions / exclusions were factory-produced race cars (e.g. , 1967 Super Stock Coronet and Belvedere) and cars painted dark colours ( TX9 Black , GB7 Blue , GF8 Green , etc.).
  14. Those engines look more like a 3.9 litre ("Chopped 318 V8") engine ! Just an awful engine all-around . I must admit , however , that I have seen one example of that 'generic' MoPar LA-Series engine in an MPC 1977 Road Runner , whose builder turned into a respectible piece ! If it's any consolation , the AMT 340 from their 1971 Duster does look small inside the carniverous boillerroom of 1970-1974 E-Bodies and 1971-1974 B-Bodies . Same's true in "1:1" scale .
  15. Go to the Library section of the site ; click on what set of years you're looking for ; scroll-down to Paint Chips , and ; peruse the colour chip section. Gives the Chrysler colur code (e.g. , "UU1") and what models that colour was available on . Hamtramck Historical is unbeatable when it comes to info for Chrysler vehicles .
  16. Yes , please
  17. The backlight shape does look more accurately-executed on the MPC (et al.) body . Not that the Revell version is all together *bad* ; and in a completed state , its more-square-ish backlight shape probably diminishes . Looking forward to seeing what my more skilled plastic fanatics devise as far as 'correcting' the rear wheel arches and their trim ...
  18. Chrysler went to "universal" (read : generic) side marker lamps in 1972 on all its models except the C-Bodies (Monaco-Polara , Fury , New Yorker , Imperial) and its pickups (I could be wrong ; although later iterations of the "D/W" Series eventually went to the "universal" side markers in the 1980's or so .
  19. Kevin , please add my name to the waiting list (or provide a link to where I can add myself to the list) . Due to financial issues , I missed out on the '73 Chevelle its first time around (and the '72 Demon too ... ) . Now I'm ready !
  20. Go Mango / Vitamin-C were both EK2 . Special Order colour in 1969 , regular production colour for 1970 , then it was gone forever by 1971 .
  21. I'm thinking it's the Crank Position Sensor as well . OBD II didn't appear until the 1996 model year .
  22. I only see a location for a handle !
