  1. The *unmentionable* song is on The Velvet Underground & Nico (1966) , which is colloquially known as "The Banana Album" The last two songs are from White Light / White Heat (1967)
  2. Now that would be cool ! An M-100 conversion ... Tailgate and what else ?
  3. King Crimson -21st Century Schizoid Man !! Heaviest song ever recorded ? Easily up there ! I could cite a song or two by Lou Reed ; "Venus In Furs" , "Run,Run,Run" , one I cannot name here ( think : 1966 , and a song that starts with the letter "H" ) , "White Light / White Heat" , "Sister Ray" , just to name a few . I've got to come up with more recognisable lyrics , and thereforeto , more recognisable songs (!) .
  4. I believe that Grump's 1967 Camaro started life in A/MP ( the 396 wasn't available early in production , IIRC ) then ended up in SS/C when the 396 became available . Some-one please correct me if I'm wrong with my info ( )
  5. "I'm no authority but I know the D-E-A-L When it comes to dealin' with the females What you got they want, cash is what they need Slip sucker and they'll break you with speed But you meet a freak, you try to turn her out Spendin' money's what I'm talkin' about But you fool out, your pockets got blew out And after the date, no boots, you got threw out Mad and shook cos your duckets got took Call her up, phone's off the hook But who told you to front and flaunt your grip? You can't buy no relationship."
  6. It's really cool to see a B&M "Hydro-Stick" behind that Pontiac 421 !
  7. "Here's a little piece of advice You're quite welcome it is free Don't do nothing that is cut price You know what that'll make you be They will try their tricky device Trap you with the ordinary Get your teeth into a small slice The cake of liberty..."
  8. That Nicopolis car has a RPO V.I.N. : http://www.ramchargers.com/ . The website asserts that Nicopolis' car is the only legit Ramchargers SS/DA 1970 Hemi'Cuda ...
  9. That's a great idea , Felix ! I wonder if the folks at the MECUM organisation would be interested in seeing your splendid work ? I absolutely LOVE that Corvette !
  10. This bad boy is due for release next month ( http://www.round2models.com/models/amt/1953-ford-pickup ) and I can hardly wait ! While this kit has remained largely unchanged throughout its numerous reissues ( just decals , tyres , wheels , and plastic colour) , it's nice to see it being released this go-around in its original format ( including the custom wheel covers that were around for only the original release ). As a fan of the 1953-1955 F-Series ( 1956 is alright , too ... ) , I can't get enough of this classic AMT kit !
  11. I've only ordered reproduction parts from Modelhaus (1972 Road Runner bumpers / tail lights / grille) , but I can vouch for the excellence of the parts ! Their service is definitely "old school" , in every capacity of the term (and I mean that sentiment in the complimentery way !) , so one's order is going to take 3-5 weeks . Well worth the wait ! The best thing about reproduction chromed parts ? No runner tabs to file / touchup !
  12. How did the seller propose that he / she was going to package it ? I've only bought one P.E. set (MCG's 1969 Dart GT / GTS) from eBay ; the seller asked if a standard envelope ( typical letter-size ) with some cushioning was okay . I said , "Sure , so long as the fret doesn't get damaged , then that's fine ." I received the envelope , and I almost threw it out ! The seller's printing on the envelope was so perfect ( like mine is : legible !) that I thought its contents were junk mail (!!) . Hopefully you didn't unwittingly toss an envelope out that had the P.E. in it (!) . P.E. frets are tiny , even for 1/12 scale kits (unless they include side mouldings or other sizable pieces) .
  13. "Incurable disease on a day of rest ; I'm walking on water in a sea of incest ; I've the image of Jesus embedded in my chest ; I can't leave home without my bullet-proof vest ..."
  14. So long as a car *looked like* the year it was competiting under , that was good enough for Super Stock . For an instance ; the triple black 1970 Hemi'Cuda convertible that's recently been restored . It was campaigned by Bill Bagshaw starting in c.1973 (complete with its $7,500 paint job !) as a 1971 in SS/EA . Its primary target was the SS/EA 1970 LS-6 Chevelle convertible (whose name and owners I've forgotten at this moment ...) . So , to the point : by all means (V.I.N. , etc.) , Bagshaw's "1971" Hemi'Cuda was a cosmetically-updated 1970 . NHRA (et al.) didn't check VIN's ; they were more concerned that a car look its represented --and classification-- model year . The 1971 convertible had its shipping weight "fudged" so that it "weighed 'more'" , so that model would qualify for SS/E(A). What I'm getting at : The alleged "Ramchargers'" 1970 'Cuda very well could have been a body-in-white 1972-1974 Barracuda hardtop , skinned as a "1970" . Good enough for SS/D(A) - SS/E(A).
  15. It would be nice if Missing Link (or whom-ever) would make a conversion for the 1972-1974 models . Even basing a '72 - '74 Pro Stock on the existing Sox & Martin kit from Revell would generate enough sales !
  16. The 'real' Ramchargers' 1967 Dart F/C was based-upon an assemblyline body ! Its body was all metal ; its roof was fibreglass , IIRC . That transitional period between F/X and F/C ...
  17. "Feel your spirit rise with the breeze See your body fall to its knees; Sleeping wall of remorse Turns your body to a corpse Turns your body to a corpse Turns your body to a corpse Sleeping wall of remorse Turns your body to a corpse..." CLUE : Howard Philip Lovecraft
  18. You should open your ears to "Piper at the Gates of Dawn" (1967) , "A Saucerful of Secrets" (1968) , and some of their other early releases .
  19. "One of these Days" by Pink Floyd , 1971 .
  20. "Later on The story goes A bottle floated out to sea..."
  21. Arroyo Parkway c.1940 . This 'parkway' was Los Angeles' first real Freeway . It was built on / around the Figueora Street Tunnels ; traffic originally ran both directions , until c.1942. If this scenery looks familiar ; this was the freeway where the opening scenes to Duel (1972) were filmed : ( beginning at the 1:20 mark , ending at the 2:20 mark) Santa Monica Freeway prior to its opening-to-traffic . Of special note here : The Harbor Freeway was still signed as "US 6" . By c.1964 , its number was changed to CA 11 , and ultimately , I-110.
  22. " I was saying 'Let me out of here' Before I was born ; It's such a gamble when you get a face ..."
  23. "Colours that flicker in water; A shortterm[sic] effect..." Righty-o , good sir . "Pornography" is their best album , in my opinion .
  24. That looks like a super project , Ira ! I've been wanting to get one of those VW Bus kits again ( I had both issues as a kid ; the yellow one and the red one ) . I'd like to stick the 8V-71 Detroit in-place of the kit's SBC ...
  25. Excellent ! Thanks , Jeff !
