  1. "One of these Days" by Pink Floyd , 1971 .
  2. "Later on The story goes A bottle floated out to sea..."
  3. Arroyo Parkway c.1940 . This 'parkway' was Los Angeles' first real Freeway . It was built on / around the Figueora Street Tunnels ; traffic originally ran both directions , until c.1942. If this scenery looks familiar ; this was the freeway where the opening scenes to Duel (1972) were filmed : ( beginning at the 1:20 mark , ending at the 2:20 mark) Santa Monica Freeway prior to its opening-to-traffic . Of special note here : The Harbor Freeway was still signed as "US 6" . By c.1964 , its number was changed to CA 11 , and ultimately , I-110.
  4. " I was saying 'Let me out of here' Before I was born ; It's such a gamble when you get a face ..."
  5. "Colours that flicker in water; A shortterm[sic] effect..." Righty-o , good sir . "Pornography" is their best album , in my opinion .
  6. That looks like a super project , Ira ! I've been wanting to get one of those VW Bus kits again ( I had both issues as a kid ; the yellow one and the red one ) . I'd like to stick the 8V-71 Detroit in-place of the kit's SBC ...
  7. Excellent ! Thanks , Jeff !
  8. As a matter of fact , I bought the last one (of GMS' ) first batch ! You're right ; that price is super ! It'd cost me more in fuel and headaches to drive the 7 miles to the LHS versus the price savings and free shipping ! I've purchased many kits from GMS Customs ; excellent service !
  9. "Sideways across the desert A charcoal face bites my hand ; Time is sweet Derange and disengage every-thing..."
  10. Hopefully one of the fledgling resin casters will offer a Ranchero transkit for this kit ! Of course , I'm *assuming* that the Ranchero and Torino 2 door shared the same wheelbase ...
  11. I just ordered one of these bad boys via eBay ; $20 + free shipping . I've owned a 1970 Ranchero GT in the past ( 351-C , FMX , 9" with 3.50 Trac-Loc ** , yellow with dark green interior [ originally it was ; its prior owners changed the interior to black , and the vehicle was painted white lacquer with fade-out blue stripes] , and chromed-reverse 15x8" wheels ) , so these Ford intermediates are my favourite from the Blue Oval camp . Being a life-long MoPar fanatic , and thusly having concentrated predominately on their ins-and-outs , I have practically no experience in regard to factory colours , inside and out . Any-one have a link or two to factory literature for the 1970 Torino (et al.) ? ** = I'm not sure as to whether or not that "Trac-Loc" is the proper term for the FoMoCo differential . I would appreciate and welcome a correction in regard to this .
  12. "But the funny thing is what happened to her nose ; It grew until it reached all of her toes ; Now when say her feet smell they mean her nose..."
  13. Lust for Life
  14. " Yeah I heard a funny thing , Somebody said to me ; 'You know that you could be in love with almost everyone ' ; I think that people are The greatest fun ..."
  15. " I Can't Drive 55 "
  16. "...There's nothing left alive Just a pair of glassy eyes..."
  17. I was not aware of that 'A51' package . Thanks for clarifying that for me (and every-one else)
  18. I couldn't agree with you more :)
  19. Great review , Tim ! I'm going to have to give this kit a try . The 1970 Ford intermediates hold a spot in my heart , as I once owned a 1970 Ranchero GT ( 351C / FMX / 9" with 3.50 gear ) . Good on Revell for reinstating the P.E. board , and for correcting the seats and quarters !
  20. Car Craft 1967 Z-28 article . 14" Mini-Lite wheels ?? http://www.carcraft.com/featuredvehicles/ccrp_0909_1967_chevrolet_camaro/photo_12.html
  21. This Promo-come-kit represents a rare model in "1:1" : a 360-powered Barracuda (BH) model ! Most of the 360-powered models were 'Cuda (BS) . The giveaway is its flat hood (the 'Cuda models all had the "twin scoop" hood) and its dual exhaust (exclusive to the high-perf engines) .
  22. Zymol wax does emit a pleasant odour ! And , it's easy to work with , too . Ethyl Racing Gas definitely has a sweet odour to it . Too bad that the majority of our younger bretheran hasn't been exposed to that sweet smell . Heck , even in its exhaust state ,it's still sweet ! Wood . While I'm not hip to the different kinds of woods (by smell at least ... except the unmistakable odour of Pine , and Eucalyptis [sp] ! ) , I do in general love the smell of old wood . My paternal grandfather's old work shop was full of different types of woods ( in addition to other surplus construction materials ) , which were leftovers from his construction business . He retired in 1958 ; by the time I was perusing his old work areas , that wood had been sitting for 15+ years . Old Chrysler Interiors have an unmistakable scent . That scent brings me back to my childhood ; back to my parents' family car , the 1969 Dart 'Custom' . 2-Cycle Exhaust . I can still see all of those killer , 2-Tone era Vespa scooters at school back in the mid-80's . Pre-2007 Carburetor and Brake Cleaner . The years just before that stupid Final Solutions Act which set unrealistic VOC standards . You folks whom reside outside of California are lucky that you can still purchase carburetor and brake cleaners that actully work ! Old AMT and MPC kits have a comforting odour to them . Organic Brake Pads / Friction Materials have a pleasant scent . I enjoy their smell while I'm working . Tamiya "Orange" and "Green" cements . Their odours take me back to my teens when I discovered them ; a great time in my life . American Spirit "Pow Wow Blend Tabacco . Even non-smokers like the smell of that cut of tabacco ! It has a nice Spearmint smell , even when it's burning .
  23. Here's some tight accoustic guitar work by one Mike Pinder of Moody Blues fame . Footage from the short-lived Colour Me Pop , 1968 :
  24. "Fuzz Duster" , is the name bestowed upon MPC's 1980 Volare annual . Its box art is a *bit* misleading ; it features a customised version , but there's no mention of the stock building option (!) It's moulded in black .
  25. Sounds like the Constant-Loss Lubrication of some Motorcycles ! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total-loss_oiling_system It would appear that wikipedia has aligned constant-loss with total-loss . Certain motocycles (think : BSA) had a lubrication system which included a spoon which was used to refill the crankcase with oil , as those engines would leak like a sive . On the other hand , there are the two-stroke Detroit Diesels ; those are 'Total-Loss' by nature .
