Jonathan , If those twins aren't representative your best work , then I can only imagine what your best work does look like ! -

Now that is a K-35 ! Beautiful work , Dan ! The rack and the canoe really set it off nicely . *are you going to paint the front side marker lamps ? -
That is excellent , Steve ! I've always enjoyed Tim Boyd's buildups ; even his OOB builds rule ! It's nice to see this customised roadster-truck in practise , especially after 27 years

1/25 AMT '72 Chevy Blazer Crew Chief
1972coronet replied to Jordan White's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I've been waiting for ~30 years for this kit ! Yeah , RC2 (et al.) reissued some sembelance of it ; however , the fabulous junior high school computer graphics box art scared me away ! Thistle be nice a super kit to have again -
I laughed so hard at that comment ! HA HA HA !

Last snow below 2,500' here was back in 2004 ( Novembre ) . I was stuck in Victorville ( with the Memphis blues again ) as US 395 / US 91 / CA 18 / I-15 was closed . RE : "Global Warming" (preceded by "Global Cooling") , et al. , is nonsense in-so-far-as "man's contribution" is concerned . It's really an arrogant notion to "believe" (indeed , assert ) that our activities would impact the 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 years old Earth so immensely . California's last Gov was the one who pushed the "Final Solutions Act" , and we in Ca have been paying dearly for that heap o' poo for years (vis-a-vis , inferior cleaning chemicals , special A/C recharge cans , and now some stupid fuel tax (which officially honours Ca with thee highest fuel taxes / prices In.The.Nation.) which gets activated at 0:01 HRS our time . But , I divulge ... Let's get back to the virtual anomaly of snow in "sunny & warm Ca." !

Door Lock Push-Buttons ?!?!!! Awesome !!

Some photos from another "Always Warm & Sunny" California day : 1.) My 1972 Coronet @0615 HRS today : 2.) Lake Elsinore , facing-south , south-side of the lake @1050 HRS today : 3.) "Say , how's the view out of your Sentra's backlite ???" Not an isolated incident . I witnessed numerous dirt clods operating their vehicles with snow'ed-over glass ! Temp's in the 30's during the day , with high-teens tonight . The nice thing is that none of the dwellings are built to accommodate cold temps / snow !! So , the houses / apartments / buildings are flippin' cold !~ "Enjoy the Rose Parade you out of towners !"

I cite the '64 Mustang Coupe as being a catasotrphy only in the sence that its A-pillar / windshield area is so obviously off to the most casual observer . It's through my experiences that the Tri-Five kits aren't *nearly* as grotesque as that '64 Mustang .

`70 Plymouth Cuda "AAR" 340 + 6 pack-Revell
1972coronet replied to 69NovaYenko's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
For an AAR version : - New 340 Six Barrel - 8.75" axle (a Dana 60 never was an option with the 340 nor the 383) - Exclusive bonnet - Boot spoiler - Different-sized tyres for front and rear (the 'real' car had --correct me if I'm wrong-- F60-15 front , L60-15 rear) - Trans Am exhaust - Rear splash pan (the S&M kit already has the "blank" panel) The inclusion of a 727 Torqueflite would be nice , in addition to the 4-speed . -
I hope that Round2 will reissue this series (they already reissued that catastropy-but-not-their-fault 1964 Mustang Coupe) . Those ePay prices are ridiculous for these kits ! With the idea of a reissue in mind ; let's hope that they trash those ugly "snow tyres" (the stock version's skinny Firestone tyres are just fine) ...

My friend Erin and her family adopted a wonderous kitty who's half British Shorthair , half Scottish Fold ( daddy was the Brit , and mum was the Fold ) . This is a photo of him as a tyke ; his eyes turned the classic Brit copper-colour . He.Is.Huge.!

You mean to tell me that you don't like the snow tyres / Cragar S/ST's combo ?

Re: Testor's Paint
1972coronet replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Testors used to dry in less than a day , both spray and brush , regardless of 'finish' (gloss versus flat). With few exceptions , I've used Tamiya exclusively for 10-15 years ( in addition to Gunze and some other Japanese manufacturer paints / products ). I've never been impressed by Testors acrylic paints . -

It's like comparing the sweet , pleasant odours of high-test leaded gas , to that of the putrid unleaded "pump" gas ... -
Ross Gibson...engines...sad news
1972coronet replied to Howard Cohen's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
My condolences to Mr. Gibson , his family , and his friends . I bought one of his beautiful 1968-1971 340 / Torqueflite kits (includes both water pump / timing cover pieces : 1968-1969 ; 1970 & later . Talk about attention to details !) , and am going to eventually employ it in one of my pending MoPar A-body builds . -
The recent reissue of the AMT Parts Pack : Pontiac [421 / 428] and Chevrolet [265 / 283] includes a nice looking Hydra-Matic in what appears to be in Hydro-Stick livery . http://www.round2models.com/models/amt/gm-parts-pack

Amen !! There were a lot of delays after the kit was announced for release in Spring / Summer 1987 ; a year later , it was finally out ! The only black eye for an at-the-time-state-of-the-art kit :that stupid moulded-on-to-the-windshield interior rear view mirror ! Successive issues of this great kit were retooled sans mirror . Heck , the best thing about this kit --other than its subject matter-- was that extra small block engine (in short block form) and its engine stand !

1972coronet replied to 1972coronet's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I , too, have been wanting the Monarch ... ... just like I wanted it in March 1976 when my parents bought a brand new Ghia 2-door ( 351-W , etc. ) in silver with silver Landau top and cranberry red interior @! -
White Interior Combinations
1972coronet replied to Fabrux's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
With the exception of the Chrysler-badged 'C' bodies ( New Yorker / 5th Ave , and Imperial ) 1969 was the last year for MoPar offering white seating / doorpanels with 'coloured' accents ( red , blue , green , and gold ) . Some early literature showed the 1970 Duster with white / blue accents interior ! However , that same literature also mentioned that Rallye Wheels were standard on the 340 model (VS29) ; so , that early literature was only speculative . Same with the alleged Mod Top option for the then-new Duster ... -
What kinds of foods are so utterly repulsive to you ? For me , Chinese food takes the cake ! Just outright disgusting , in every capacity : odour , texture , and flavour . To make it worse , my dad eats that [expletive deleted by author] no matter what hour of the day ; the most unfavourable time is when I'm trying to eat breakfast . Imagine : 0500 hours ; I'm eating oatmeal and drinking coffee ... ... then the atrocious plague of Soy Suace-drenched noodles and veggies perform a hostile takeover of my senses . Adding to that reprehensible encounter is the noises he creates while consuming that putrid food ; clanging utinsiles , sucking-food-from-teeth sounds , open-mouth chewing ... ARRRGGGGG !!! So , what food experiences are you bewildered by or angered by ?

1972coronet replied to ZIL 111V's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
