Amen !! There were a lot of delays after the kit was announced for release in Spring / Summer 1987 ; a year later , it was finally out ! The only black eye for an at-the-time-state-of-the-art kit :that stupid moulded-on-to-the-windshield interior rear view mirror ! Successive issues of this great kit were retooled sans mirror . Heck , the best thing about this kit --other than its subject matter-- was that extra small block engine (in short block form) and its engine stand !

I , too, have been wanting the Monarch ... ... just like I wanted it in March 1976 when my parents bought a brand new Ghia 2-door ( 351-W , etc. ) in silver with silver Landau top and cranberry red interior @!

With the exception of the Chrysler-badged 'C' bodies ( New Yorker / 5th Ave , and Imperial ) 1969 was the last year for MoPar offering white seating / doorpanels with 'coloured' accents ( red , blue , green , and gold ) . Some early literature showed the 1970 Duster with white / blue accents interior ! However , that same literature also mentioned that Rallye Wheels were standard on the 340 model (VS29) ; so , that early literature was only speculative . Same with the alleged Mod Top option for the then-new Duster ...

What kinds of foods are so utterly repulsive to you ? For me , Chinese food takes the cake ! Just outright disgusting , in every capacity : odour , texture , and flavour . To make it worse , my dad eats that [expletive deleted by author] no matter what hour of the day ; the most unfavourable time is when I'm trying to eat breakfast . Imagine : 0500 hours ; I'm eating oatmeal and drinking coffee ... ... then the atrocious plague of Soy Suace-drenched noodles and veggies perform a hostile takeover of my senses . Adding to that reprehensible encounter is the noises he creates while consuming that putrid food ; clanging utinsiles , sucking-food-from-teeth sounds , open-mouth chewing ... ARRRGGGGG !!! So , what food experiences are you bewildered by or angered by ?

Is this kit slated for reissue ?

Very nice ! 1962 was the first year for the aluminum-cast 727 (it was cast iron from 1956-1961) . The 413 and 426 were both RB engines ; indeciperable in-scale .

Whilst trolling eBay for kits for sale -- and to check my bid status on a pair of vintage Renauld "Sea & Ski Spectaculars" sunglasses -- I came across this gem. I've subsequently emailled Round2 regarding the Lindberg line of 1/32 scale G.M. Colonnade kits , et al. , and am hoping for a "yes" answer , as-in , "Yes , the tooling exists , and plans are to re-release these kits..."

I , too , am amazed that KROQ is perservering ! I haven't listened to that station since 1988 ; when I started hearing Guns -n- Roses (one of my favourite bands , by the way) on what *used to* be a New Wave , et al. , station , I got turned off . Is Rodney on the Roq still a part of KROQ's regular programming ?

The scariest and most fun car I've ever been a passenger in was a 1970 Porsche 914 . Its owner swapped a 327 SBC into it , backed with a Porsche 930 trans . The car sat about an inch off the ground ; its tyres were absolutely huge ( 16" x 10" wheels ) . That car handlled like it was on rails ! Scary quick and horrifyingly fast !

I , too , was hoping for a stock version ; some-thing along the lines of the kit's origins . What truly struck me about this kit is its packaging : "Product Made in the USA with over 90% US Parts" !

Tom , I'm loving your "battered buildup" of the old F-Body coupe ! This has to be the first time I've seen any-one add a 'Charcoal Cannister' to their build (1972 & later emissions piece) ! Very cool ! I feel that I need to bring attention to the interior ; it looks great , but it's missing some-thing ... the required-by-New York Backlite Defogger ! While I "have an ear" for music , and while I've had the desire to play an instrument , I've never been able to "get it" . I've always been fascinated with the Mellotron , Moog , and Farfisa keyboards ; the Sitar is beautiful ( I painted the body of a friend's sitar back in the 90's . Clashy psychedelic colours . It really stood out ! Some-thing perplexing about hearing him play his sitar to Venus In Furs (Velvet Underground , 1966) at a coffeehouse ! ). Who knows ? Maybe some-day I'll get the bearings to play some simple 3-chord stuff ... Just don't call me Robert Quine yet !

Those are the ones , Casey . Very nice tyres ; the blackwall side has the classic Firestone inscriptions . Pharoah , I also found it to be peculiar that no additional tyres were provided . I'm not sure what Round2 has in their roster that would fit the bill in-so-far-as keeping with the vintage c.1962 theme ...

Yes ; received it on Friday at 1420 HRS . My critique : Over-all , it's a beauty . In spite of the moulds' age , flash and distortion is minimal-at-worst . Chrome plating is excellent . Decal sheet is *nice* . The retooling of the original's custom wheel covers is a very nice touch ! Tyres are very nicely done ; period-correct whitewall on one side ; well-detailled blackwall on opposite side . My only prima fascia "complaint" ? The optional chromed-reverse wheels are --as the directs point out-- unusuable with the kit's stock-ish skinny Firestones . This also means that any wheel deeper than the stock steelie / hub caps , or stock steelie / custom wheel covers won't fit . The 70's and 80's issues of this kit had two sets of tyres ; the old standby Firestones , and optional F70-15 Good-Year Polyglas GT's . In my opinion , these tyres should have been included in this issue. 9.9 points out of 10 !

Where in Japan is this ? There were a couple of '70-'73 Camaros in the area when I was young ; and other than the Daytons (not really a fan of those wheels) , this car represents the customs I'd see on West Whittier Blvd ! Very , very cool ! I can't wait to see how your replica is going to *compare*
