  1. One can build this version OOB from the AMT 1973 Mustang ( ? ) :
  2. Roof appears to be ostensibly too short to me -- B-pillars-back.
  3. My dad had an '82 (first year) in 1985-1987. Fully-loaded (except for cassette) - I've forgotten that trim level's nomenclature - and clean. Total piece of it. 2.8 V6 was a gutless gas hog; that stupid electronic carburetor was "set" and therefore nonadjustable. TH-200 trans was slipping. Radio stopped working (analogue dial which was stuck on some crumb bum station). Paint faded on the sides first. Those early base/clear paints were trash. That being said: There were a handful of them around with 350/350/10 Bolts which were super nice. You just know that those trucks went through in absentia emissions testing (i.e., 50$ will pass anything... presence not necessary).
  4. Remember the days of not-too-long-ago when the Middle Classes were thriving
  5. Unscrupulous business practises seem to be normal these days
  6. 1960's is another time period which is improperly represented in cinema and television
  7. Tools made in a certain part of the world are abject trash
  8. [ side bar (no pun intended) ] - Great Uncle on mum's side worked at a speakeasy in Pennsylvania. One day he got home and had a "really bad feeling" about the club and its destiny. So, he took his wife and kids and left town. Next day, the place was shot up by a rival gang, killing everyone inside the place.
  9. "Paris France, not Paris Texas !", joked Johnny Thunders during a live set at The Speakeasy
  10. I could be - my information may be - incorrect, but I seem to recall none any of G.M.'s high-perf, solid lifter engines were available with A/C ; the 1970-1972 LT-1 were all solid lifter. IIRC, it wasn't until the 1973 model year - and the then-new L-82 - that A/C became an option... at least with the Z/28 package. A.I.R. pump would be fine, but never have I seen the accompanying plumbing included, with the exception being the MPC 428 with the Therm-Actor setup.
  11. Nice work so far with that rascal. Those tiny parts would drive me insane -- I've a difficult enough time with 'regular' sized 1/25 scale parts (even reading glasses aren't that much help) let alone twigs & berries (cigarette lighter, indeed !). I'm fascinated with that Roto-Matic ( a/k/a "Slim Jim" ) transmission. not many of those in-scale (there's the Oldsmobile Jet-Away 2-speed and the same's Hydra-Matic 4-speed - in B&M Stick Hydro guise via the AMT engine Parts Pack) and definitely an obscure - and unreliable - 'stopgap' 3-speed auto (the Hydra-Matic plant burned down in in , what, 1958 ?). Keep up the great work !
  12. "Like a man snapping a shingle -- hurts like a b_st_rd.", recounted Eddie "Fingers" while relating the story of how his hand was broken by the Irish Mafia
  13. Yep... totally "boosted" that car !
  14. Some of the kits which are labelled AMT are ancient ERTL kits ( International Scout ) with only a couple - that I can think of - which were retooled and remastered ( International 4070A being the prime example). Some are old Lindberg (1934 Ford Pickup, which was originally an AMT kit) and some are 1990s era Lindberg (1967 Olds 442, 1966 Chevelle SS-396, 1997 Crown Victoria CVPI, Dodge & Plymouth B-bodies, 1961 Impala) which were rebranded as AMT. The (awful) era of Racing Chumps branded everything under the AMT banner, though many were - are - ancient MPC kits (1967 GTO, 1972 GTO, 1969 Charger, "1970" Charger F&F, etc.). Those are to be avoided unless one wishes to perform lots of plastic surgery -- virtually unbuildable out-of-box. On the flip-side: 1963 Nova Wagon, 1965 GTO, 1968 GTO, the aforementioned International 4070A [ERTL], and a few others, are de facto new tooling. Those are the BEST. Then there's the MPC kits of yore which are also de facto new tooling: 1968 Coronet R/T Convertible and c.1981 K10 Sodbuster. Likewise, those are the BEST. IMO, one should watch videos (YouTube) of unboxings of kits, as those exhibit kits' contents. Same with the forum here. That way, "surprises" are , in es , avoidable.
  15. Wheel's On Fire by Dylan and Danko was performed by a broad range of musicians
  16. Speaking of 1/16 scale Squarebodies : Whatever happened to the tooling for the Action Snaps 1978 [?] C20 series ? Perhaps an updating / retooling for the sake of more detail (engine and engine compartment ; tyres & rims ; clear headlights and tail lights ) would be in order ?
  17. I've seen Chris's transkit (that's okay to say these days, no?) and am impressed by it. Prosaic truth is that I'd rather spend that much coin on a few copies of the Sodbuster ; I plan to use its cab on a 2WD 1978 annual I have which is complete except for its cab. Chris's works are masterpieces. Truly. I dig the side trim ( Cheyanne ? Scottsdale ? ) and the bench seat (the bench in the '78 annual is... well, it leaves something to be desired. Hopefully it'll receive a retooling.
  18. I'm keen on the idea of a Heavy Half fleet and/or step, with a 454/ TH-400 ** C20/C30 would be sweet, too. ** I'm not completely up on the Heavy Half package. Please correct / add info.
  19. I'm hoping for a longbed, 'fleetside' (I've forgotten G.M.'s nomenclature) , with a 2WD option (and steelies with hubcaps for both the 4WD and 2WD). The 'bones' of its 1977 origins (1978 annual) are still present, albeit with the 1981 & later front clip.
  20. "Minimum ! It's called a mini skirt, mum, and er'ryone's wearing 'em !", protested the teen while window shopping on Carnaby Street
  21. Y' beat me to it ! Maybe it's a rare pilot vehicle !
  22. AFAIK, the PS is a 'hot' paint, which means it'll likely ruin polystyrene. I'm not sure of its compatibility - or lack thereof - with the TS paints.
  23. "Say 'c'est'' properly !", barked the French teacher
  24. Trophy wives , like Exotic cars, should be dumped after three years, else either'll drain your account
