I agree with your assessment to an extent -- the 'division' is where the technological advances are presented. Consider the original premise of this -and countless others like it- thread: 1968 Coronet R/T Test Shots? No mention was made about the probability of 3D scanning/ repairing of tooling, it was about a proposed all-new 1968. Just so happens that Round2 was able to take advantage of the technology which came along within these 10 years, and retool the classic MPC annual, with vastly improved components (separate door cards, for an example). Besides, my back hurts too much to be able to pat it myself these days (haha). Thank you for presenting your view. No offence taken nor implied, I'm certain. ?

I wonder whatever happened to the 1972 Valiant from the cinematic release? It was used for a few scenes which were filmed in spring 1972 for the European/ Australian theatrical version (the original, 1971 U.S. movie was released in November 1971). The tractor-trailer is still around from that release (I seem to remember its being in the Burbank, Ca., area), but the car disappeared into obscurity...

A thread that I'd started almost ten years ago has been dusted off (haha). Nobody believed that the coveted MPC 1968 Coronet would see the light of day, no matter what bodystyle it was (hardtop, convertible, or de facto funnycar) -- and here we are, nearly 10 years to the date, and the convertible is OUT and AVAILABLE, with the hardtop in the works! AND, it's not merely a direct reissue -- its tooling is almost 100% NEW ! Pop the cork on the Dom !

I built the Baldwin Motion version some 20 years ago, and I encountered zero issues (including those headers). I have the Zed "full bumper" and two of the c.2015 reissued Baldwin version, but haven't touched any of them yet.

I'm just happy that Round2 revised/corrected the body on not only the Grumpy's Toy but also the [1974] Bruce Larson USA-1 Vega. Would I like to have seen the Grump's Vega include a proper SBC/4-speed and fenderwell headers? Surely... and I'm not alone. At least the revised/retooled bodies look the part, especially compared to the originals (stock rear wheel openings, moulded-on exhaust, etc.)

I recognise a Chevy Engine Orange painted head (and, ostensibly, block) -- I thought that Bill painted his engines black as early as 1968 ( SS/E Chevy II & SS/C Camaro ) ? Ne'er-the-less, here's a great photo for those whom wish to replicate the correct headers for the MPC '72 Grumpy's Toy Vega P/S.

Those "random" sightings and meetings are setup before hand. If most of the owners of the vehicles saw those chowder heads approaching, they'd bust out the Winchester before ol' green mohawk and Count Dexedrine could run their areses back to that tweeker taxi and peel out.

Whatever 1/25th scale displacement it is (someone used to see resin stroker cranks for various engines, but that was long ago), it's a Chrysler 'RB' engine (I've checked its measurements; it's not a B engine) of 413-426-440 displacement. Love the functioning fan! Does its declutching mechanism work as well once the engine reaches a certain temperature?

GYC is fun and full of data, and their shop turns out some top notch restos and 'Day2' type restos. Rawlings is a blowhard. I'm fairly certain that he's had his attitude "handled" on many occasions... My favourite YouTube channel? Vice Grip Garage.

It was in front of me the entire time -- I'd forgotten about the show car "Super Bee" convertible. Duh! It's on the kit box top! Funny things that Chrysler did back then: Road Runner convertible (1969-1970), but those were equipped with the same instruments as the Belvedere et al. No Super Bee convertible, but the coupe and hardtop were equipped with the instruments from the Charger [see image]. The 500 model [WP prefix on VIN] was more akin to the R/T [WS prefix] insofar as appointments; the Super Bee [WM prefix] had appointments similar - if not exactly - to the 440 trim/model [WL or WH prefix].

The Croz hath passed on the the next realm... This song was recorded during the Notorious Byrd Brothers sessions (summer-autumn 1967), but didn't make the final cut. It was deemed "too controversial" by bandmates McGuinn and Hillman; it was shelved as a demo. Jefferson Airplane recorded their version of it (Crosby had given the song to them after the Byrds rejected it) on Crown of Creation. When the master tape demo was discovered in c.1989, Triad was 'blemished' on the vocals -- Crosby was called into the studio to re-sing one of the lines... 20 years later! The transition is seamless.
