  1. I can still see the billboard for the 1974 film Earthquake! in my head, almost 50 years ago. I was 4 years old, the 1971 Sylmar Earthquake still in me mind (I was 10 months old when that one hit). I believed it to be a warning of another earthquake, and was aghast that it was being advertised! Haha. I was standing in the back of my parents' 1969 Dart, straddling the driveshaft tunnel, staring out the window. I saw that billboard, and my verbal reaction was "s_it !" My folks weren't happy about my first swear word -- I remember saying, "I hear dad say that word all of the time." So, yeah, the billboard ad for Earthquake! is my favourite.
  2. Now & Later vied an unsuccessful campaign in the prophylactic market
  3. Mari Lwyd !
  4. Pink Floyd Sound was the name which Syd Barrett came up with, and the Sound was dropped from their name when they signed to EMI
  5. Didn't the Johan '66 Fury include parts and decals to build a (phantom) S&M Hemi S/S version? Tom Hoover wanted for the Street Hemi to have either a big single four barrel or the Six Barrel [et al.] induction, but corporate said no. **CORRECTION/AMENDMENT** Here's the box art for the '66 Fury (see image). I've only seen it one other time, many years ago -- the red-white-blue paint scheme is what me memory think, Sox & Martin. Apparently my recollection is correct.
  6. I love it!
  7. I was trying to remember what model year the C/K dash changed from the "box" of 1988 to the "curved" of the latter years (I'm guessing it was sometime in the early 90's -- first time I'd noticed the change was in 1995.)
  8. That looks like an interesting and unique model there -- like a mix of Tucker, Renault, and Nash. I'll have to look up what exactly the Tartas is. **EDIT** Air-cooled V8 is pretty wild! Little surprise that it's a government officials' transportation.
  9. A young kitten was found under a house in Santa Cruz; her name's Holly. Mountain lion cub found under Santa Cruz home – KION546
  10. Apples & Oranges is one of Pink Floyd's wilder songs, along with Scream thy Last Scream (Old Woman with a Casket)
  11. I'm more impressed with the free toothpicks on them tyres!
  12. "Ha! Shouldn't that be Dee-bee? Dabnium just sounds silly!"
  13. For those of us whom reside in California, and especially in the Los Angeles region, P22 Hollywood Mountain Lion was a fixture in the media; his antics, many. Unfortunately, the poor ole guy had to be euthanised on 17.12 (Saturday) due to his being hit by a vehicle. P22 was up there in age, his D.O.B. sometime in spring 2010 -- 12 years is a very long life for any Puma [et alia] -- and he resided in a respectively small roaming area in the Los Feliz/Griffith Park area. He's legendary around here for not only his antics (holing up in a cellar under a house which was being renovated, for an instance, completely surprising the unsuspecting construction workers upon return from their lunch break. P22 left on his own volition after a couple of hours), but for also crossing two of the region's busiest highways: US 101 and I-405 -- usually suicide for any creature, let alone a 100+lbs. mountain lion! May he Rest In Peace! Thank you for your time with us, Twenty-Two!

  15. "USA" sounds like "You, ese" which was a commonly heard phrase around the high school I'd attended
  16. "Me an' my Louisville Slugger'll take care'a dat for youse."
  17. Original opening theme song (I'm good with either/or, with a slight lean toward the "new", instrumental piece -- it fits the dingy, overcast Los Angeles's South Bay region better, IMO. I'm sure that locals to the southern California region understand where I'm coming from).
  18. The c.2003 reissue differs in these ways only: 1.) Moulded in (Godawful) grey 2.) 'GMC' parts / A-TEAM-specific parts are plated (as are the originally-plated G30 parts - hubcaps, optional wheels, engine parts, etc.-, whereas the original, c.1983 issue was moulded in all black) So, six to one...
  19. 1:1 references are great, but don't necessarily apply to scaled-down representations (e.g., certain liberties are taken by the kit manufacturers).
  20. Restored original soundtrack on that reissue, IIRC.
