I sprayed four coats of clear on the Dodge last night, and another heavier coat this morning. After it cures a few days, I’ll polish the junk out of the clear. Pretty happy with the clear coats though, as very little junk is there. Clearing is where I get my most nervous in any build. I’m really happy when it comes out pretty good.

Thanks for the info, JC. I guess they would look out of place on a street and strip car? I wish there was a TUBULAR set available that has the collectors come down behind the front tire, just like in the pic. I suppose I could give it a try building a pair using solder, but I’m not sure how that would turn out.

Or... uhmmm the beer. -
I have two sets of the MCW resins also. I’ll most likely never use them, since I have a nice plastic set. Not sure if I’ll put those on the 62 Dart, 62 Plymouth or the 63 Dodge.

Nice collection of AWB cars. -
This is the Lindberg kit. These headers were supplied with it. The fender well headers are in the Johan kit. I have two different types of fender well headers that I might incorporate into one of my other max wedge builds. The orange set are from the Johan 64 Dodge S/S kit, and the white set are resin from Harts Parts. I’m not sure what kit the white headers are originally from though. They actually look like a high performance, cast iron manifold, that exits like a fender header. Maybe someone with more knowledge on the subject could chime in?

I’m planning on buying at least two more. Just could afford one right now. -
Thanks. I’m going to get myself some.

This is one of the nicest wreckers, or trucks, for that matter, I’ve seen. Beautiful workmanship. -

Could you please tell me how you use the Evercoat glazing putty? Or, just as directed. I’m tired of the Tamiya tube putties myself, and am looking for an alternative. Your paint looks fantastic. Can’t wait to see more.

Just ordered mine from a seller on eBay. It was a buck cheaper than MRU. I think by mid February it should arrive. -

You are welcome, Joe. And thanks JC. Much appreciated. -

I set the primed body on the chassis, to see if the ride height checks out. These Lindberg kits sit kind of low in the back, so I added some styrene blocks to the rear spring perches while I was building the suspension. The front is untouched from the box.

I plan on installing real performance exhaust that I robbed from a 69 GTX pro street kit. I didn’t like the flat ends, so I cut them off and added some aluminum tube. They will exit before the rear tires.

I have a couple T Bolts I’m building and since I am waiting for decals, I started messing with some spare parts I have left from the other three max wedge cars I have going on. This is going to be red, with a champagne interior, street and strip car. I should have it finished up as soon as I can get some paint on the body. The weather is holding me up with the body, but I plan on getting it painted in the next few days. Here is where it’s at now.

Krylon Short Cuts spray paint.

I’m going to have to check that out. I currently use a big, orange, can of “do it best” hardware acrylic flat black. I mostly use Tamiya lacquers exclusively. With all of the Tamiya colors, they don’t have a flat black for some reason. -
They don’t stretch. They are rigid just like styrene tube.

I really enjoyed following the progress on both of these builds, Steve. Nothing wrong with quality over quantity.

I’m starting to collect the little round rings from my family’s electric toothbrushes. You can prime them, then paint them with “rubber black” paint, and they make a great scale foam seal for max wedge and Hemi air cleaners.

If it is indeed enamel, then it must be very forgiving, as I cleared over it with a lacquer. The clear laid down nice and smooth. Also, I’ve never had any enamel be dry to the touch in 20 minutes or so. Maybe some of the cans are enamel, maybe some are acrylic or lacquer. -
Foose ‘65 impala question
Brutalform replied to JTRACING's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Haha..I meant that I’m not interested in the KIT. The car itself is a pretty cool big ole boat. I’d probably grab the kit if it was available without opening doors. Are there any kits molded without the opening doors? -

I have a 59 and 60. Not too interested in the 58.
