Very nice job on the Hell Cat engine. This car will perform in a way its designers never thought back in 1970.

This is an absolute gorgeous build. I love everything about it. The interior, the red paint, trim, whitewalls. One great model.

Some very smooth as glass paint jobs on this thread. It could be better but it’s the only car I did black so far. While polishing the clear, I broke through to the black on the drivers door. After adding Future to it, I can’t even tell where it is now.

Roger, this is still one of the nicest builds around.

I’ve never had to sand it, but it did take some coaxing into place. It’s really easy to build a lop sided Thunderbolt. The floor pan will sit below the rocker panels, and when you look in the windshield, the tub will be really crooked. The very first one I ever built, I glued the tub in place, and I never glued another one after that one. It’s one of my favorite kits to build, and I’m not In no way, knocking it. I still have a couple more planned, with the Reynolds car, and Atwater car. Actually I was working in the Atwater car, and I need to get another body, so it’s on hold.

After building 14 TBolts, everyone of them I had to fiddle with the interior tub in order to get the floor level with the rocker panels, and the door panels to match the doors properly. So it is pretty common. I add a piece of tape to the underside of the package tray in order to stick it to the underside of the trunk. And I leave it there. I never glue the tub in with the tape holding it. That way I can move it to get it all set right. After 14 builds, I must admit this still rears it’s head. Glad to hear it worked out for you. Post some pics when it’s all done.

Also, check to make sure the ends of the tubes fit into the holes in the radiator support wall flush.

Has anyone heard of a release date for the new Revell 69 Chevelle SS 396? My understanding is that it was supposed to be in May. Usually when kits are this close to a release, they can be preordered. I can’t seem to find any info whatsoever on this. Let alone place an order. Thanks...

I agree. Even though I haven’t decided what to do with mine yet. What are you gonna do? Especially when the Johan version can cost you a couple of Bens, if you can even find one. This car might have a few incorrect things, but it looks pretty good to me. Btw, nice job on this one Snake. Would enjoy to watch you build the Landy car.

I use regular enamel thinner. But I also use the accent on bare plastic, before priming and painting, so ruining paint or clear is never an issue. Never thought about using it after the painting and clear was done. I’d probably just mess up my paint work.

Didn’t they also require some sort of exhaust system to be in place? But it was easily disconnected? The Ford Thunderbolt had to have one to meet the rules.

Looks like a capable, realistic low 7 second car for sure! Beautiful work. I really enjoy seeing builds that take the regular, typical, Camaro to a new level.

Looking good. I recently built this car, the same color too.

Mask entire window with Tamiya masking tape. Trim to expose the edge. Spray with Tamiya Rubber Black lacquer. Remove tape. The rubber black looks more realistic than other blacks.
