Help with Revell 90 Mustang LX Drag Racer kit
Brutalform replied to shoopdog's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Cool, that probably equates to high 9s to low 10s. I had a 92 Firebird Formula that ran 11.40s @ 122 with a 436 SBC EFI naturally aspirated. I did my own eprom tuning, with a wide band O2, and Tunercat. I drove mine to and from with the A/C on. I figured you would be crazy fast with that light of car. Stangs are cool cars. If I ever got back into it, I most likely do a Ford this time around. -

What kind of number did you run with it? -
Looking good, Terry. I’ll be following along this build. Can’t wait to see more.

Thanks Nick. If I do the other hood, all I would need is the two “six pack” decals for the scoop.
-
Thanks. Actually that splotch on the top is the tab that fastens it to the sheet metal.

Ahh ok I didn’t know that. I assumed they were the wedge.
-
Looking good. Nice interior. Did you dislike the 426 max wedge engine, or just wanted a hemi? I have the Color Me Gone on the bench, and I think the wedge engine looks terrible.

You are very welcome, Keith. Now that I think back, it was pretty confusing for me too. IIRC, I even took a break from it because of the front suspension. Have fun and be sure to post pics when it’s finished. -

Sorry for the mistakes. I tried to circle the part but I messed up when I tried posting. But here it is now. -

Those black brackets that fasten to the frame, are fastened to brackets on each side of the oil pan. -
Thanks. All tires, wheels, brake drums, and rotors are from the Revell 90 Mustang LX Drag Car Kit. Tire decals are from Slixx.

Looks like a nice project. Definitely some vintage styrene there. Hopefully Fireball will have those carburetors out soon.

Thank you everyone. It was a real fun build.

Keith, you don’t use that piece. Unless you don’t want the tubular k frame. I remember my engine seemed like it sat in there pretty sloppy, but as the build came together it all worked out. It was a bit confusing and I also remember the struts being a pain too. Here is a pic of mine. Hope it helps. -
Glad to see that bad boy engine fits nicely between the wells!

It’s been a while since I worked on the Superbee. I got side tracked with a Duster, but got some work done on it today. Almost near completion. Still have the rad support, front and rear lights and bumpers, and that big ole Superbee trunk decal. Since I have an extra hood, I was thinking on having one hood closed, and one with the four corner legs for displaying the engine. I would need an extra set of the scoop decals as I only have one set. Not sure what I want to do. If I can score another set of scoop decals I most likely will go with the extra hood. Hats off to Chief Joseph (Fireball Modelworks) on his beautiful carbs, AND red stripe tires, and A12 rims and lugnuts. I have some of his dog dish hub caps and wheels I’ll be using on a 64 Dodge 426 max wedge car that’s on the bench. Anyway, here are a few updates on what it should look like.
