  1. My prayers are with Paul and his family and friends.
  2. Dave, I understand that by the late 70's only the quarter panels and roof were used from an actual production car. At least part of the cars were actual production cars. The rest of the measurements and fiber glass body panels still represented an actual car. This is what I was referring to. Now a days, as Hakan said, the bodies are far away from production cars and don't resemble an actual car at all. In that video I posted they still looked like cars and had some lineage to an actual car unlike today.
  3. Norbert, Have you done any more work on this Pro Stock Pinto?
  4. Thanks Dave for the information! This video in the link below has Pro Stock footage from when actual production cars were raced. The good ol' days. 1977 NHRA SUMMERNATS
  5. I did some searching and it almost looks like the change to the more 'Pro Mod' looking all 'Ultraglass' bodies might have been in the mid 2000's. However I'm still not sure.
  6. In 1994 they were using the Dodge Daytona in Pro Stock.
  7. This year the Pro Stocks are now using fuel injection with no hood scoops. I liked when they ran the 4 barrel carbs. Before the change to the all 'Ultraglass' bodies the roof and quarter panels had to be from a real production car. The bodies still resembled a real car. Now they seem to be using the same, or similar, bodies as the Pro Mods. I actually like the Pro Mods but miss when the Pro Stock bodies had the real quarters and roof and resembled a real car. I'm curious when the change took place. I'm can't seem to find this information.
  8. Does anyone know what year the NHRA Pro Stock cars change to carbon fiber bodies? They seem to resemble Pro Mod cars more now.
  9. Beautiful build Bill! BTW, what paint/color did you paint the body? Mike.
  10. Jeff, Did you ever finish this one?
  11. Does anyone make a 1/25 Scale 2014 Camaro Pro Stock body? I know Comp Resins makes a 2012-13 Pro Stock Camaro but it changed in 2014.
  12. I traded parts with gardnerpag44(Paul) and it was a pleasure dealing with him. He's a good guy to deal with.
  13. Thanks Craig! Now I just have to find a set of these tires.
  14. Can one of you guys measure the inside diameter of these tires for me? I need to see if the Jo-Han wheels will fit. Thanks, Mike.
  15. My e-mail notifications stopped coming today. I un-checked and re-selected them so I guess I'll have to wait and see.
  16. Jim, Nice work! What is that yellow stuff you are using? Is it styrene? Mike.
  17. Thanks Jay and Tommy for the kind words!
  18. I forgot to include this picture in the post above. I shortened the front doors by re-scribing the seam between the doors about 2 mm forward. The front doors on the Polar Lights Ecto-1 are too long for a 'Superior Coach' ambulance. I believe the Miller-Meteor ambulances, that the Ecto-1 was based on had longer front doors. Mike. 19. This must be something new. I was posting by copying the pictures in Photobucket and it was working fine until I posted these pictures today.
  20. Thanks Bill! I just used the image button and the pictures look squished.
  21. Bill, Yes I'm on a free account with Photobucket. I'm up to 89% so I should still have 11% more space for pictures. I'll try using another photo sharing site. BTW I have this build on another forum and the pictures are showing there. Mike.
  22. Thanks Jason! I can't seem to make the pictures appear. I've been at this about an hour now. I copied the pictures from Photobucket and am having no luck.
  23. The body of a 1964 Cadillac Ambulance has a taper. It widens at the doors after the A-Pillar(as Brian Austin mentioned earlier). The Polar Lights Ecto-1 body doesn't have the taper. I narrowed the front fenders and added the taper to the front doors. I checked reference pictures and feel it looks more correct now. I widened the front(Jo-Han) section of the chassis to blend in with the rear Polar Lights chassis. The front of the inner fender wells were cut off and extended to meet the radiator support which is how they are in a '64 Cadillac ambulance. Since I removed the front of the PL chassis I decided to use the fender wells for the rear of the chassis to close it up. It may not be 100% correct but I think it looks more complete this way instead of having no rear fender wells. I still have to add the rear window pillars and the trim moldings which I should get to in the next few days. Thanks for looking in! Mike. 24. Very nice '59 Ambulance! What Monogram kit(s) have the Wide Whites, you mentioned?
  25. Jason, Those look OK. The tires that came in the Polar Lights Ecto-1 have very large wheel openings. Maybe the AMT Ecto-1A tires have a smaller 1/25 scale wheel opening. Let me know what you find and send me a PM. Mike.
