Round2's literature said "First of the Series", so much like the 1/32 kits they'll slowly run them all if sales warrant it.

The 250 GTO has never been part of the Enthusiast Series. There are a couple of racing variations that are OOP at this point that tend to sell for more. Otherwise it's just people miss listing the kit trying to overcharge for it. The only Ferraris in the actual Enthusiast Series are the 288 GTO, the versions of the Daytona, and the Dinos ( arguably not a Ferrari in some circles)

Fujimi's is the newest (tooled in 2008), and arguably most accurate one available surpassing the older RevellAG kit. It's not quite an Enthusiast Series kit, but it is 180+ parts and full detail. If you self-import from HobbyLink Japan or Hobby Search it's running about $23.

It was a "Torque Filter" transmission in the street Satellite too. Amusing that in what, 8 months? Nobody fixed that typo.

I forgot to mention mine is also missing the passenger's side mirror insert off the chrome runner straight out of the shrink wrap.

Mine has a noticeable rise behind the passenger door, so I guess the roof is depressed rather than their being a hump in the roof. The window trim on the passenger side roof is also all wavy. At least you didn't get one of the ones short shot on the passenger's side inner fenders where the entire area from the bottle (not sure if that W.W. Fluid or Coolant) down to the radiator brace is AWOL. As far as the heads and valve covers being molded together that's how the Monogram G-Bodys were cast, just part of that 1986 in 2016 flavor that makes me shake my head.

Assuming that figure is correct that's a price raise of 40 CENTS (based of a run of 5k kits) to correctly replicate arguably one of the signature pieces of the 1:1.

It's there, but in typical Revell "good nuff" fashion they molded the entire thing on one vertical plane like a set of airplane throttles, whereas in real life the stick on the left is "regular" auto transmission and is bent out towards the driver a bit and when in park is significantly further forward than the other two sticks.

It's mid-90s AMT/Ertl era stuff so it's as "modern" as any kit you'd get out of Round2 until the new '16 Camaro comes out. IMHO one of the better ones they did back then.

I love that shade of green! The reason this kit is constantly rising in cost is RevellAG forever changed the molds when they made the Convertible version. So there's never gonna be another made unless they were to go do some substantial retooling. Unlike that ESCI Transit Van which Italeri is reissuing this summer.

This one had been avoiding me for about 18 months now. Lastly the ICM Opel was on sale last weekend for $13 (yes THIRTEEN) at Squadron. I've had the Convertible version for awhile and I've always thought the steel roofed version had a period hot rod, or LS powered modern street rod lurking in all that Ukrainian molded German Das Auto.

The tires are the worst part of this kit being the bias ply tires out of the '70 Cuda. A real head scratcher if you ask me. Sure they didn't have a tire in inventory to use for this kit, but considering there's at least one other version of the kit coming and the potential of doing other 1980/1990s cars down the road (a Grand Prix to round out the G-Bodys would be nice for example) investing a couple of bucks into a new appropriate tire tooling would have been a smart investment in the long run.

So is the warped body, the faint panel lines, or the combination of the two the "Tamiya like quality" people always say Moebius kits possess?

This weekend at the Beijing Hobby Expo in the Aoshima display was a placard showing a "Winter 2016" release date for modification of the Aventador into LP-750 Superveloce trim.

Got one today. I give it a "B" if for no other reason than attempting to recreate 1986 all over again. Lying the Olds next to parts from either the GN or M.C. SS will produce a rush of mistalgia for the good ole days. The exhaust mufflers & cat, and rear gear pinion is hollow just like in 1/24 Monogram style. The overall engraving level in the 1980s was also far superior than today with the engine bay, door panel inserts and dashboard all being much crisper and finer detail than the kit I bought today. All in all it'll make a shelf model that more or less looks like an '83 Cutlass, but leaves me yearning for a lot more.

Then I have a '40 Ford Business Coupe & Convertible, all 3 of the Galaxie '46-'48 Chevys, the '48 Ford Convertible. Meat & Potato section of my domestic collection is Mid '50s to early '70s. In the coming months I'll add more kits at both "extremes" with '15 Evo X, '15 Huracan, and '16 Camaro kits on the new end and the '30 & '48 Fords on the prehistoric end.

The new flyer for which these models are part of doesn't officially start until tomorrow (14th). Some stores follow that sales guideline strictly, others just stock out the shelves when the truck shows up.

Every month Tamiya's corporate website - for the one in JAPAN (there is an English version) NOT TamiyaUSA - puts out a monthly release list. That's how Jon and I could tell you it wasn't coming out this month or in May. But now as Jon mentioned in the above set of links, it's available for Pre-Order at HLJ and Hobby Search for it's actual release date of June.

Well if the '57 Gasser is the D & M Corvette Specialities one as someone said, then it's the black sedan. And since the NASCAR kit can't be built factory stock, more than likely a Gasser specific one will not be able to be stock either with the necessary suspension and engine modifications. I'm not saying a wagon wouldn't sell, but the initial report/rumor isn't for a wagon. You and I both know that's not valid Revell box art, test shots would not be far enough along to have a built example - especially with decals that clearly aren't P/S like usual, nor would they have box art drawn up for a kit they haven't even officially announced yet.

I give the faux box art an "B" for effort, but what possible reason would there be to reissue the Del Rio Ranch Wagon in a 2n1 already when the original kit is still on the catalog? A SWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING and a Miss! Give em credit for incorporating the new skill level in though.

It's also not on the May Release list either.

The RevellAG offering was a straight rebox of the Aoshima kit.
