  1. Seeing as this thread has taken a left turn somewhere, what combination of clear coat and decals work and don't work? Im always afraid to test the watersin fear of ruining the.decals.
  2. The same thing happened to me awhile ago...instant cobwebs...I never picked it back up. My guess is it wasn't thinned enough, but as I said, i put the paint away and have yet to try that paint again.
  3. I like Mr Surfacer as it comes in many thicknesses. I use the green or white stuff, Squadron brand, for large gaps to fill, but Mr Surfacer for smaller areas. I need to try Tamiya putty as I've heard great things.
  4. Looking forward to this one!
  5. I just bought that too at Hobby Lobby yesterday...you can't beat $14.00.
  6. Very neat! 1/32 is a great sale to work with.
  7. This will bw cool! looking forward to the progress.
  8. Don't strip it. That's my vote.
  9. Stunning paint job!
  10. Well done my friend.
  11. Back in the 80's, Honda perfected the automobile. Their cars were reliable and built like a swiss watch. Their formula has never changed. While Honda perfected their method, Detroit churned out cars, with no regard to styling, reliability, and fit and finish. It finally caught up with them. And Honda also realized that they could sell more cars if they built their best seller in the country where it sells the most. In the 80s Honda built with pride while Detroit focused on the almighty dollar.
  12. If you are getting bad.results with scratch-x, then you are not.doing it.correctly. make sure you are wet standing with at least 6000 grit 12000 if u have it...THEN use scratch-x. It produces flawless results.
  13. But what would happen with a 1:1 paint to thinner ratio? Or even a 1:2?
  14. Can one add too much lacquer thinner to thin enamel paint? Is there a ratio that is too thin?
  15. Good topic. I too have problems with this.
  16. I enjoyed being a mod at first. Everyone likes you. But then once I started handing out punishments, I became the enemy, No matter what I said or did, I was always the bad guy. My word never good enough, as people would run to Gregg or Harry whining. I never had time to really sit down and read the good threads here, as I was either skimming for trollers, or harping at people for acting a fool. It became less enjoyable as time went on, and my attitude and patience of unruliness dwindled. Soon, my comments were exactly what I had been yelling at people for. I was wrong on a few occasions, making comments that weren't appropriate for a moderator. But there are a few members here who just do not understand that this place is a privilage and not a right to say whatever you feel. You've been a great audience.
  17. If you value your insanity, don't do it.
  18. LOL...Yeah, expired...with a big asterisk. I always enjoyed creative writing in school. I think if I remained a mod any longer, I probably would have been assassinated.
  19. My contract for moderating has ended, leaving me more time to build! I didn't have the time or patience be a good mod. Plus, my style of moderating didn't quite jive here. Good luck to the next mod, whoever that lucky soul shall be. Everyone else, get back to building...nothing to see here. I should lock this thread....nah. Peace
  20. I've heard the same...sun will alleviate the yellow.
  21. I have the same problem from time to time and have yet to find a fix. Some forums do have a setting in your control panel to adjust this but i don't see it here.
  22. Maybe Slantasaurus needs to a warning so we can show him how this works.
  23. Its called Google +. Its Facebook but googlier. The plus sign you see is the equilvelent of a Facebook Like.
